    Never apologize for showing emotion Andy. Showing your vulnerability and conviction is crucial for others to get out of their cages. Incredible story. Sorry you had to go through it but thankful you're able to share it. You were not meant to suffer, carry a cross or wander a valley of tears. Praise God and the BVM for leading you home!

    Wish I could give Andy a big hug. Some of this is familiar to me, although my history is less extreme. I’ve been through some stuff in my life, but my journey in the Church has been the most painful thing I’ve experienced. I can’t explain that even to myself. Thank you for the great service you and your guests are providing in these videos. I’m so happy for everyone who has found their way out of extremism.

    I have to say, this is probably the most incredible conversion story I've ever heard! And a miracle that you didn't lose the faith in the process as many people who leave cults lose faith in God altogether. I've witnessed masses at St Joan of Arc and think they're solid. We're all praying for you and your family!

    Andy’s story truly resonates with me. I also stopped believing in sedevecantism. It was a very painful process, because I grew up with it all my life, so for me, it was leaving behind everything I knew. St Francis de Sales was the one who brought me to the realization that the Catholic Church was the truth, not a specific group. All this division, and telling people, which church to go or not, pointing fingers, acting as if they were the authority, it was not what Our Lord taught,
    , I get so emotional too, whenever I look back on my experiences. Were it not for Our Lady and St Francis de Sales, I would have lost my faith completely. Would have stopped going to church entirely. Now, I’m focusing on rebuilding my faith, after years of bad experiences and negative impressions of Catholicism.

    Beautiful testimony. Tears of thanks are a joy to the Lord. Rather fitting that Andy's recounting of the ground zero point in the grocery store parking lot landed right in the middle of the video. The first half building up to that spiritual crescendo of being stripped of everyone and everything. Stripped for the encounter with Love Himself using the tiny little creature so that he could hear that silent, yet soul penetrating "I love you"! Followed by the second half where the fruits of that encounter are shared.
    Andy, you fled to the protection of Our Lady and sought her intercession and she did not leave you unaided. Deo Gratias!

    He said he was not emotional, but this whole interview is charged with emotion! He does not seem to understand 2 important attributes of the Church as always taught - indefectibility (what are its limits), and visibility (how small can the Church get). Once people begin to study these two elements as found in all the older manuals of theology things actually become much clearer when trying to square that up with what is coming out of Rome. The "I'm just a layman" line is truly a copout. Most adults can read. Manuals of theology and catechisms are for all Catholics to study, not just theologians. Even theologians can err. Unity in the truth faith not at its expense. The ways of God are not the ways of men, God always keeps His promises. Prophecy is only understood after its fulfillment. The faith can never change.

      I said I was not an emotional person, and I also said this is the one thing that always brings up some emotions, You act as if I contradicted my self . You also assert that I don’t know indifectability or visibility, yet you don’t know anything about my knowledge of those points (because I didn’t address them ). They are relevant to the issiue because sede’s believe in a defected version of the Church ,, also visibility has nothing to do with the size of the Church , it has to do with the structure of the Church , this is why sede’s believe in an invisible church . Because according to their position the church no longer has any structure , the Church is reduced to those who have the true faith , that is an invisible church just like Protestants.
      You also assert that the faith can’t change, as if I somehow don’t know that .or if I somehow disagree with that .
      Your post is one example of why I find it nearly impossible to have an open, honest, charitable discussion with a sede, . The sede is always the authority, on what other people know, they always declare themselves the expert, and everything gets addressed from that perspective. That attitude is what prevents fruitful discussions, I used to do the same thing .

      May I ask what else is more worth getting emotional over than such powerful evidence of God's action in your life? I can't think of anything. A lack of emotion is not necessarily evidence of virtue. In fact, God made our emotions, and He Himself expressed them while alive. I'm not sure why you have a problem with that, unless hardness of heart is at the root of your distaste.

      @@mycatholicexperience8409: "the Church is reduced to those who have the true faith , that is an invisible church just like Protestants"
      Not true faith (since we can't know another's internal state of mind), but true PUBLICLY DECLARED faith.
      From The Catholic Encyclopedia, 1913, vol 3, p. 753:
      "[The Church is materially visible when] it [is] a society which is [public and] manifest to the world; not a body whose members are bound by some secret tie."
      All that's require for the Church to be visible is that its members make themselves known as Catholics and are not hidden away as part of some occult club. They say, "We are Catholic!"

      @mycatholicexperience8409 7 місяців тому +1

      @@LarryRuaneyou gave a definition of “material “ visibility. That definition could be applied to any religious institution that is public. FORMAL visibility is unique to the Catholic Church. Your quote is a “proof text “. (Half truth) of one small part of visibility , there is a distinction your missing that the encyclopedia also references between “material “ and “formal” visibility. Read a little more and you’ll see that .

      In 1846 Our Blessed Mother Herself appeared at LaSalette France to the 2 shepherd children, Melanie and Maximin. She was weeping because the world had become so Godless, and was sad because very few respected the Sunday obligation, and many sinned by their bad speech and misdeeds.
      She warned that a terrible trial would befall the world, as a punishment for sin; that Her Son's arm of justice had become so heavy it was harder and harder for Her to hold it up, for us to avoid His wrath. She foretold that, "Rome would lose the faith......"
      The second part of that line of prophecy may be too severe to write here, for fear of scandalizing readers of this channel, but Our Lady's message was clear, the Catholic Church would be eclipsed for a time, with Rome (the seat of the Pope) occupied by usurpers.
      We are living these times, without a doubt. Our only recourse is to keep our noses clean; to live as good, moral, sinless Catholic lives as we possibly can, and to leave the other details to Almighty God.
      Please note that Our Lady DID NOT say the Church would defect, or that it would become invisible, only hidden for a time. No one knows how long that time will last, so we should pray harder than ever in the meantime.

  • @LarryRuane
    @LarryRuane 9 місяців тому +1

    This is a powerful interview, thanks for providing it! What Andy said at 13:34 raises a question for me. Andy says the sedevacantists (or at least the CMRI, a sede group) say that "the true Church that went into it [Vatican 2] came out of it a false church."
    I may be confused, but that's not my understanding of what sedevacantists say. They don't say that the SAME church was true before and false after V2. They say that V2 founded an entirely *new church*, a new religion, one that broke away from the true church. So one church went into V2, and TWO came out: a very large new false church, and a very small (tiny, even) true church which embodied the pre-V2 religion unchanged.
    The confusion is that both churches call themselves Catholic! But definitely two different religions. In other words, Vatican II didn't change the Catholic Church AT ALL -- it cannot, that's impossible. Instead, V2 simply started a new religion that almost everyone incorrectly thinks is the previous religion. But it's not. It's similar to how the Anglicans and the Protestants broke away from the true Church, this is just another case of the same thing (except for the name confusion, and the fact that a supposed pope called V2 into existence).
    I've never been a member of CMRI or any sede group, but I do want to understand their position accurately. What's wrong with the way I've explained it (which I got from reading and listening to them)?

    • @mycatholicexperience8409
      @mycatholicexperience8409 9 місяців тому +2

      Hello, I wasn’t asserting what the CMRI or sede’s say they believe, , I was talking about realizing what I as a sede really do believe , And under examination this is in fact what sede’s believe , because no sede group (other then pope Michael). claims to be the same Church that existed in 1958 .
      They themselves also refute the idea that they are the same Church of 1958 , by the simple fact they admit they hold no office, have no authority, and have no legitimate ministry (legitimate as defined by Trent) they have not been sent by the church also they have no power to produce a pope, .
      That alone shows they are not the same Church that existed in 1958. ,,, Unless the church in 1958 also lacked visibility, authority, legitimate ministers etc..
      The dogmatic definition of the Church requires visibility (the structure of the Church) and authority , and other marks. to be called the Catholic Church ,
      the sede clergy themselves admit they don’t have these attributes. But seem to be silent about the fact that many if not most of their adherents view them as the Catholic Church of 1958, as I did , this leads to silly empty statements like , “one church went in and 2 came out” Or the church left us we didn’t leave the Church , these are empty statements that have no substance to support , but it gives a sede the illusion that the Church is with them and those that agree with them. Thanks for your kind reply.

    • @patrickdunn8749
      @patrickdunn8749 9 місяців тому +3

      You make a good point here: "V2 simply started a new religion that almost everyone incorrectly thinks is the previous religion."
      To be clear, several beliefs that sedevacantists hold were misrepresented in this video. Sedevacantists don't believe, for instance, that Christ abandoned His Church as was alleged. Sedevacantists believe that a new religion is being promulgated to Catholics by apparent authorities. That is what makes our times so perilous. The Church can never give the faithful false doctrine, evil worship or harmful disciplines. Sedevacantists would argue, contrary to what Andy said, that *IF* Vatican II is actually from true Catholic authorities - from Christ ultimately - *THEN* that would mean the Church has defected. Christ would indeed have abandoned His Church if the Vatican II religion is true.
      As another commentor said above, "The documents of Vatican II and the reforms that followed contain errors that had been directly condemned by the Magisterium of the Church." Those who follow Vatican II are the ones who have, at least in matters of faith, broken from the Church, whether they realize it or not.

    • @patrickdunn8749

      By the way, for not being a sede, I commend your ability to articulate the position in accurate terms more or less. You have a leg up on the many people who condemn the position without even understanding it. I'm grateful for the intellecual honesty.

    • @tommastroianni641

      The sedevacantist position you’re describing isn’t one worth taking serious. Unlike the Church of England and Martin Luther-who at least had the decency to break away from the Catholic Church-the Modernists who gave us Vatican II now have usurped the hierarchy of the Church and presently occupy its structures and institutions. They, namely the false popes from John XXIII to Francis, hold title by virtue of their elections but do not formally possess the Papacy-i.e., the authority from Christ to teach, rule, and sanctify-on account of their objective intention to impose the false Vatican II religion on the faithful. They are frauds, wolves in sheep’s (or rather, shepherd’s) clothing. See my other comment on here, specifically regarding the Cassiciacum Thesis which addresses and refutes all objections to sedevacantism. The position of the CMRI and other sede groups that Vatican II created a new church is untenable and discredits the sedevacantist position. God bless you.

      @@patrickdunn8749 , actually, your misrepresenting me, Allow me to clarify YET Again, ,,
      I NEVER said that sede’s say they believe Christ abandoned the Church, , No sede will out right say that, HOWEVER,

      Me personally realizing that necessary conclusion , is what I was talking about in the video . Are you able to understand that point and stop misrepresenting me ?
      I understand you personally disagree with my conclusion, but you fail miserably to articulate any reasonable point to the contrary, instead you make a list declarations, as if they are facts. I do not hold to any Sede vacantism. 100% hold to union with the Pope In Rome, who at this time is Pope Francis.
      Mary's Little Remnant is an off shoot of the one of the Feeneyite Sedevacantist. Fr. Feeney was excommunicated in 1947 for his interpretation of "Outside the Church there is No Salvation" and Baptism of Desire and Baptism of Blood. He did reconcile with the Catholic Church in 1972 during the Papacy of Pope Paul VI. Two branches of Feeneyite Sede vacantist survive today: 1) Holy Family Monastery in upstate New York led by the Dimond Brothers and 2) Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Hampshire. These 2 Sede groups view all of the more organized Sede vacantist groups (CMRI, RCI and SSPV) as in error, along with the Catholic Church in union with all Popes since Pope John XXIII.
      Mary's Little Remnant is a more recent Independent Sede Sect that broke from the Holy Family Monastery (Dimond Brothers) based in New Mexico, not Washington where Andy was from. Mary's Little Remnant" holds to the view as I understand it that due to Saint Thomas Aquinas introducing the theological term "Invincible Ignorance" in Summa Question 76, that caused all subsequent Heresy. In fact, because Pope Gregory VII wrote an ecumenical letter to the Muslim ruler in Mauritania circa 1076 who freed some Christian slaves as a sign of peace with the Pope, Pope Gregory commended him for confessing God, although in a different way than Catholics, etc. It seems to ensure that they have the last Valid Pope they claim that Pope Gregory VII fell into Heresy and the Catholic Church has not had a valid Pope for almost 1,000 years. I think Pope Alexander II (1063-1073) is the last valid Pope they accept.
      So among Sedevacantist, they hold to the See of Rome being vacant for now almost 1,000 years.

      I have to say your comment was mean and not kind or charitable. I hope you take it down.

      It is hard to sit with people while they go through hard things. Opening up about something that is as traumatic as having to rethink your whole life opens wounds. Tears bring healing (it was a big part of my healing as well as many others). Is it hard to hear someone share something so personal that it moves them to tears? yes. But it is also beautiful. Seeing how God and the Blessed Mother work through other peoples lives is phenomenal and worth sitting through hard moments.

      Will pray your heart softens toward those who have endured spiritual abuse.

      @@alternamacprobably couldn't stand reading the Gospel passages that recount Jesus weeping. If he has ever even read the Bible

    I don't know what group he belonged to, it must be a cult. Sedevacantists NEVER talk the way this man described his group in the first 5 minutes. Sounds like either a cult or this all a bunch of malarchy

      Every Sedevacantist group as well as other “trad” groups including the sspx and other schismatic groups are cults and they are destructive to souls.

      She has other videos talking about cult behavior. Do you think Andy is sincere? I think he’s genuine.

      All sedevacantist groups are cults. He's probably referring to an emphasis placed on private revelations these groups highlight where they say that we must pray the rosary in order to lessen some impending chastisement and because they also believe that the Church is false, that would be solely their responsibility. Many traditionalists in general abuse the rosary in this way, treating it as some superstitious magic spell against all kinds of evil (in a scrupulous way). IMHO many people have interpretations of the Fatima apparitions that lead them to use the rosary this way.

    Maybe the ladybug was trying to tell you to stay in the CMRI?
