OMG: somebody finally posted it! I asked Tri to play this in Toronto 2009 but she did not remember it. Such a shame since I would love to hear it live! - Thx for posting this!
No, this was a demo for al stewart in 1988. Im still hording all the good tori stuff this just slipped out one night. Everyone else i think there are sites one the net the can rip audio from youtube and convert it to whatever format you wish.
This demo was cowritten by Tori & Al Stewart - I never read a quote of the year. Probably 1988-1991. Tori sang backup on his LAST DAYS OF THE CENTURY album during the YKTR era & performed with him live on at least ONE occasion, as can be seen in a rare performance of his classic "Year of the Cat" here at UA-cam. Go search for it! "When I Was Dreaming" first appeared on a bootleg CD titled DREAMING back in 1994/95 - who knows where THEY got it from. I just wish the song didn't FADE IN!!!
This is seriously the best Tori song ever. Interesting how although this was never released, she seems to have later reworked parts of it into both Tear in Your Side ('Maybe it's time...') and Happy Phantom. Although slightly annoyed that it seems to be missing an intro / chorus / first verse???
This song reminds me of a couple of her early songs. To me it kind of sounds like leather and another song put together that I just can't put my finger on.
Beautiful! Where did you get this version? The one I have is crappy quality and I am in love with this song and would love to have it in better quality.
@Hereinmyhead102 you're still hording all the good tori stuff? um, yeah... you can find all her demos and unreleased stuff everywhere all over the net lol. tori's probably one of the most bootlegged artist out there, you're not likely to have anything not ripped yet.

One of the best endings to a song ever.
I thought of this song after hearing Kygo's Piano Jam 2 for some reason.

Well yeah it's missing pieces, it's a demo. That's kind of how demos work
