Good review! I recently replaced my KME with the K03 Pro Hunter. I did ok with the KME but the K03 is at another level. Much better design, much more precise.

I wasn't sure on some of the topics in the user manual but you cleared it up. This is my X-Mas present! I don't know what I-20A oil is, can I use 3 in 1 oil on the guide rod?

I paid $760 for mine with free shipping back in September 2023, but it was shipped to my old place and I’m just now putting it together 6 months later. I checked today and TSPROF is selling them direct for $780 and has them in stock, so you should be able to snag one now. Only issue with mine is I had to tweak the crate which is pretty cool for storage, the end took a hit during shipping.

Got my KO3 Hunter last month. No regrets. Get the CGSW Resin Bonded Diamond stones in 6" x 2". These stones are a no brainer for the KO3, for medium to large blades. Very good value.
Big tip. Take the cube off the rod and zero it that way. That way you don't have to chase the light under the cube to get it perfect. Once zero is achieved slide cube back on rod and screw on knob. Very easy and better zero results.

Get you a set of the Boride T2 aluminum oxide stones to cover all your softer and midrange steels. They also make a set silicon carbide for harder steels. Real affordable. Gritomatic has a nice selection of stones.

Man I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t posted this video, thank you! The only limitation I can find with this system is the terrible lack of assembly and calibration instruction from TSPROF. I got one sheet in Russian with a serial number on it. I had put it together, but had one extra thumbscrew at the bottom of the box that I couldn’t find where it went, and didn’t know how to calibrate the angle finder. Also, just slightly irritating for the price, they only gave me 4 rubber feet and one of those was cut in half, but I have it on a woodworking pad so no worries. Thanks again for the detailed setup instructions!! 👍

I've always liked how well engineered these systems are. I just don't see the justification for the prices on them. They must use the same consultants that Benchmade uses to come up with their pricing. Good luck to everyone entering the GAW.
Precision, quality, tight tolerances, and consistent repeatability does have a price that can be commanded by such manufacturers. ‘Spend the money .. cry once.’
Been almost a year since you posted this video, but I’ve just recently been getting into sharpening seriously with my Work Sharp Pro Precision Adjust….now I’m looking into getting this one. Wow $800 bucks, and your link for the 5% discount doesn’t work anymore…bummer. Great video!
Thanks, this is a big help! Other than TSPROF on UA-cam, who don’t go into this much detail, there’s hardly anyone else showing and explaining these systems. At this point I’m deciding between this system and the Kadet Pro. I’m also looking at that double clamp for smaller blades, the spring clamps they make for FFG blades (unless I can get these to work?) and a convex attachment they make as I have a lot of convex grind blades. I’ve also heard that there are higher end / longer life resin bonded diamond stones, venev I think was the name, so may be looking into those and a strop. @BeezBlades Jerad is testing a universal stone holder for the Worksharp. He's about to release a favorable video, so there's that. I think I'll go with the Worksharp due to price. I wouldn't turn one of these down if given one.
I think the TSProf is superior to the WorkSharp in accuracy but it’s leaps and bounds better in build quality and will last your lifetime and your kids’ lifetimes. To me, that made saving for the TSProf KO3 Pro Hunter 100% worth it. JMO
Have hunter system and been having an issue last year, bolt that holds the sharpening rod unscrews, when u tighten it too much then it doesnt turn smoothly, when u tighten just enough, it unscrews within short period of time a nd then rod bounces up and down, not impressed for too of the line machine
If the blade does not clamp totally flat in the clamps yes it could be off... Mostly with full flat grinds that do not have a flat section of blade to clamp to. Its a good idea to check the angle on both sides if it is a flat grind to make sure got it squared up.
Yeah sorry $600 is just too much. Twice the price of the newest and greatest…is it twice as good? I have no idea whatsoever as I haven’t used either. The way things are going I won’t be able to use one of these either. Have to pay our favorite Lacey knife sharpener ❤️
I would say the difference is are that it is all steel, it has a universal holder, and will hold even larger blades. Nothing is plastic, so I would say that it will probably last as long as we do😅
It takes up some shelf space. It's just so well made. Maybe a con for small knives, but I know they do have other clamps for small knives that still fit good one.
I’m retired, living on a pension and have cancer. $900 for a knife sharpener is a little much for me. It’s the old whetstone & ceramic sharpening for me, but thanks for letting us know about this beauty.

If the blade does not clamp totally flat in the clamps yes it could be off... Mostly with full flat grinds that do not have a flat section of blade to clamp to. Its a good idea to check the angle on both sides if it is a flat grind to make sure got it squared up.

Yeah sorry $600 is just too much. Twice the price of the newest and greatest…is it twice as good? I have no idea whatsoever as I haven’t used either. The way things are going I won’t be able to use one of these either. Have to pay our favorite Lacey knife sharpener ❤️
I would say the difference is are that it is all steel, it has a universal holder, and will hold even larger blades. Nothing is plastic, so I would say that it will probably last as long as we do😅

It takes up some shelf space. It's just so well made. Maybe a con for small knives, but I know they do have other clamps for small knives that still fit good one.
