Oh fucking classic! I was lucky enough to see this in a movie theater when the Director's cut was released in theaters. Charlton Heston as a Mexican! Wow.
I also like his Macbeth and Orthello, also Chimes at Midnight is excellent. His performance in The Third Man is tremendous, hanging round shadows and street corners. Lets not forget The Lady from Shanghai with the ending copied from The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, and itself an influence on the end of Enter the Dragon!
Great picks! For me I didn't want to include Falstaff and Shanghai as I'd referenced them in the context of Touch Of Evil...I think they're pretty highly regarded now too.
Digging the new hair, Davey! It suits you well!
Thanks my man, you're knocking it out of the park with the vids these days - and recent announcements are daaaamn exciting!
Never seen Touch of Evil actually, love that Graham Humphreys art on the slipcase.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and recommendations Davy. A fountain of knowledge as always. Cheers 🫠
Don't tell the others....you're my favourite! #Melts
It's been a hot minute since I've seen 'Touch of Evil'.

Yeah, it's sign o' the times casting for sure! Must have been a real treat to see it in cinemas just as the new cut was out!

The Trial, F for Fake and Chimes of Midnight are as good as anything Welles ever made. Especially Chimes of Midnight. And new microphone?
Yeah, for solo vids, I figured a bit more fidelity is better. Used my first UA-cam Royalties for it!
For me this is a Tex Mex frontier film. Or just a noir with insanely virtuosic style that defies any noir convention. Great choice
