  • After nearly three years with a destroyed crankshaft, parts were gathered and the engine rebuilt by Scottish Twinshock Motocross legend Pail “Maico” Chiappa. I dedicate this rebuild to the memory of my late Dad who sadly passed away last year. Love you and miss you Faither xx

My fist bike was a Suzuki Gt185. Loved it, wish I still had it. Watching your video brought back lots of fond memories

Absolutely beautiful - mine was exactly the same colour- brought mine brand new from our local Suzuki dealer in 1978 as I recall- quite a fast bike from memory and I put quite a few miles on it in the 2 years that I owned it - never missed a beat and was still going strong when I sold it - thanks for the memories and the video of your beautiful machine - cheers from Tasmania 👍

nice to see another GT185 back on the road , this is the A variant I see but the side panels are painted the same as the tank , I take it thats original along with the chrome headlight ? sorry to ask - doing some research you see . ( black headlight bowl and side panels are supposed to indicate a "A" , chrome was "M" but there appears to be a lot of crossover )
you were lucky to get the crank rebuilt as getting hold of crankshaft web is a hard task(!), thanks

Thank you for your kind comments! The only non original items are the exhausts & front mudguard (both are NOS). I recovered the seat and replaced the mirrors with pattern parts.
Took nearly 3 years to get all the parts for the crank rebuild. Gotta have patience LOL
