- Welcome to episode 1 of our Princes Cruises Sky Princess UK Summer Seacation vlog.
This will take you through the boarding process for Sky Princess and also our first evening onboard.
We were in Mini Suite M423 on the beautiful Sky Princess, located mid ship, on deck 15 starboard side. We normally cruise on inside cabins, so to have this mini suite on Sky Princess was a real treat! We loved this cruise so much we even booked to go back, but this time on Regal Princess - that will be in a Deluxe Balcony.

We paid £389pp for this cruise, we selected the 'auto upgrade' options as we had originally booked a Balcony cabin. We sailed on a Sky Princess Summer Seacation from the UK in September 2021.

About Us
We started cruising in 2014 by doing a mini break on P&O Aurora. Making videos of our cruises and sharing our experiences has become our hobby, they may not be to everyone's tastes but they are our way of remembering the great times we've had, so please keep this in mind - we are not professionals and the complete video is shot and edited on an iPhone in our spare time. The videos are our opinions and experiences while on board.
We may not be the youngest cruisers but we are trying to break the stereotype that cruising is for retired people. I seem to be following you two. My first cruise was on Aurora too and our transatlantic on Queen Mary 2 was cancelled so we are on Sky Princess this November.

Princess is definitely one of my favorite cruise lines. I’m so glad you love it too! And Alfredo’s pizza and their agnolotti is to die for! International Cafe is the place to go for late night grilled sandwiches! Yum! Your mini suite is gorgeous!

Loved this video, the excitement on your faces was a joy to see. It reminded us of when we went on QM2 in 2009 round the Caribbean and we were upgraded to Princess Grill, we were SO excited. Unfortunately it spoilt us and we have always booked the Grills from then on.... they got us 🤣

... that luxury bed is fantastic ... Medellions are mailed to your address in the US about 10 days before your cruise...once your Ocean Ready you just walk onboard ... Vacation starts NOW ... enjoyed the review ...

Thanks for a great video on Sky Princess. We are on it for 14 nights next July an it looks stunning as does the food! I do find it a tad annoying that you have to order the drinks separately if you are a couple!

Sailed on her in January 2020 and booked back on her for January 2022! Can't wait to sail on her again!

My husband and I had our Queen Mary 2 transatlantic cancelled so we are booked on Sky Princess for 15 days in November. I’m much more excited now, she looks so beautiful. I’d also forgotten that Princess was the original LoveBoat, that horn 😘😘😘

We had a fantastic time! The stateroom was absolutely fantastic too! Considering we’d been upgraded from an obstructed balcony to a mini suite! The whole cruise in general was fantastic! We loved it ❤️👌🏻

The wrist holders for the medallions? The normal plastic ones are about $12 and the recycled ones are are $19 hope this helps! The solid plastic one like I have (luke) is really easy to just pop the medallion in, it’s magnetic and dries super fast when swimming👌🏻glad you enjoyed the video!

We opted for a “club” suite, not sure if it will be worth the extra, but it’s our first cruise.

The “Club Class” true “anytime dining” is a major benefit on a full capacity cruise!
We have booked a 21 day Baltic/Medley cruise as from 3rd Sept 2022 on the Sky Princess! Hope we will be able to make it on the magnificent Sky Princess.

Yay! So glad we’ve convinced you! The Sky staycation cruise (the one this comment is on) was the end of July 2021. Our Sky fjords cruise was the start of June 2022. We’re actually heading back there again next month on Iona! We love the fjords, just stunning!

Sorry we can’t pull out the sofa bed, we’re no longer onboard we disembarked on sept 6th, it takes a while to edit and upload our videos, sorry. It was firm to sit on from what I can remember but folded out it might all be different🤞🏻 I managed to power nap on ours one afternoon

Hi Sue! Sky Princess was our first ever Princess cruise and to say we were blown away would be an understatement! We had a brilliant time and couldn’t fault a thing, the app would crash now and then but it wasn’t much of a problem really, the staff were all so friendly and fantastic, the ship was absolutely beautiful! Our room was like nothing we’ve ever had before (admittedly we were auto upgraded from a balcony) we were so pleased with the whole experience we booked to go on Regal princess just 4 weeks later (also fantastic) and we’re due back on sky in about 4 weeks time to Norway!
I think it’s safe to say we recommend Sky Princess 😉😂😂❤️👌🏻⚓️

It was :) Nothing booked with P&O at the moment, going to do Regal next week then start planning something for after Christmas - we have seen a tempting Iona!
Yet another great fun and informative video , I’m trying to book a surprise cruise for May next year from Southampton and cannot decide who to choose , been on royal Caribbean and loved it but leaning towards princess now, can you please advise who you would choose, it’s for my beautiful wife’s 60th and don’t want to get it wrong lol , any advice is greatly appreciated guys .
We’ve not done RC so can’t compare directly, but Princess would be a brilliant choice. Very nice ships (Sky is back next year), food is good, service amazing and the prices at the moment are good. Princess plus (drinks, WiFi and tips) is only £30pppd. Speciality dining is $25-$29pp. Princess don’t have the active things like a flow rider or climbing walls so it does depend what you are after. Hope that is some help 😀

We can’t remember how much it was, and in fairness we’d only booked an obstructed view balcony and opted to be upgraded, we we’re totally blown away when we found out we were allocated a mini suite!
I’ve looked online and found a cruise for 7 nights to the Norwegian fjords for £999pp in a mini suite (this didn’t include Princess Plus though) which is good value and quite reasonable, I think we’d have booked it if we weren’t going to the fjords next year already ❤️⚓️👍🏻

Hi just watched your video did you have to get a pcr test done before getting the test at the port
Hi. At time of sailing (Sept) the only test required was the free LFT provided by Princess. This was done at the cruise terminal prior to boarding. We think testing has now changed and you can do testing before you arrive or at the port, but Princess now a charge if you do it at the port.

We’re back on Sky in June so will know then. If your cruise isn’t for a couple of months, hold off as things may change, they’ll send updates near the time. They did keep us updated in the week or two before we did Regal, which was the first cruise out of the UK to non UK ports last year.

Which is best cruise between sky princess and p&o iona?:)
Now that is a super hard question! I think we'd end up arguing between us to try and choose a favourite! It might be down to destination. We will say the technology (when it works) and the drinks package is better on Princess, also Sky does have a nice feel about it, very classy. Iona on the other hand is very clean and modern, maybe lacking some atmosphere you get on Sky. Oh... we cant decide! Sorry :P

Ohhh… imagine sailing through the fjords while you in one of Iona’s infinity hot tubs or even the atrium with its big windows. We’d love to do that do Iona :) Friends of ours are boarding her tomorrow for a 7 night fjords cruise :)
