- Join us in our first episode as we board the beautiful P&O Iona in Southampton as we set sail for a 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise!
On the Norway Cruise we will call at Stavanger, Olden, Hellesylt for Geirangerfjord and Haugesund.
In this episode, we take you through the normal boarding day on P&O Iona, including what we get up to and some top tips and hacks that you need to know to make sure you get the most out of your cruise too!
The Norwegian fjords are stunning, and if you have not yet cruised here, you must! Its a bucket list destination and so easy to to cruise from Southampton to!
We paid £997pp for our P&O Norwegian Fjords cruise and booked with / martinsholidayvillage - This was a Select fare smd included Parking and £210 onboard credit. We also took out the P&O Ultimate Drinks Package for this cruise which costs £39.95pp, this was upgraded to the Deluxe package as P&O changed their packages, more info on the P&O Drinks packages can be found here:cruisemonkeys....

We are bananas about cruising! We started cruising in 2014 by doing a mini cruise on P&O Aurora. Making videos of our cruises and sharing our experiences has become our hobby - the complete video is filmed and edited on an iPhone. The videos are our opinions and experiences while on board - really they are us having fun and brining you along with us!
We may not be the youngest cruisers but we are trying to break the stereotype that cruising is for retired people. On a cruise you will normally find us wondering around the ship taking in the atmosphere (and working our way through the cocktails).
We have sailed on P&O Cruises, Cunard Line, Princess Cruises, MSC Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Avalon Waterways. We'd love to try Ambassador Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Fred Olsen, Holland America (HAL), Celebrity, Disney Cruises, Carnival Cruises, Costa, Aida, Marella and Celestyal.

Great vlog! I was on the sky princess whilst you were on Iona. Was my first ever cruise and let’s just say it won’t be the last 😅. One of the most memorable things was when we had the day at sea heading back into Southampton Sky and Iona were sailing alongside eachother for a short moment, was amazing!

I've put a hold on cruising for now. If I ever go again, I will be sure to go on the same ship Gavin and Luke are on. At least there will be some dancing at midnight, even if it is only to Luke singing the tunes.

I have only just found you guys, we have never been on a cruise before but we are planning one to the Norwegian fjords. Have to say you have made me and my husband laugh so much! I said it would be dangerous if I met you on a cruise as I'd be trying and testing all those drinks with I wouldn't be able to walk 🤣🤣

Ohhhhh, have a FANTASTIC time today! Wish we were there too! You can get some nice cocktails, wines and soft drinks on that package, you don’t need to be a big drinker, plus it’s good to know it’s all paid for and you don’t need to worry about a big bill at the end 😀 Enjoy!

Hi can you gave me any advice for when we get there should we get on the local ferry think it’s about an hour to hour and a half trip 😄 or should we just walk to the church and around the village and the waterfall it says we leave in the afternoon so I don’t know if it’s a full day there I do hope so 😃 thanks for any advice

Hi guys is there a limit to the amount of drinks you can have on the deluxe drinks package?
Hi! Yes still a 15 drinks limit but the wines etc are larger and you can get better G&Ts like ultimate G&T’s doubles that’s sort of thing
Thank you. We are torn between the Iona or the msc virtuosa but are more drawn to the Iona after your videos.
Both are good ships offering something different, value for money MSC are better, if drinks are important the MSC package is much more inclusive and less restrictive than P&O
@pault8627 both are good but you do get more passenger / space ratio on Iona, Virtuosa can be very busy
I would like to try Charles Smith's wines. Which ones of his do you like other than the Velvet Devil?
We like them all, they’re all good. Our least favorite is probably eve (Chardonnay) velvet devil is our favorite followed by king fu girl and boom boom. The band of roses rosé is very nice as is chateau smith ❤️👌🏻

The 2 hour pass they sell is good value for a sea day treat and in all honesty, 2 hours is probably enough time to try everything and have a relax. We’ve purchased full cruise passes on other ships and just don’t get full use out of them as so many other things are going on around the ship.

Guys quick question? With CPS parking do you self park in a nearby Car Park or do you hand over your keys for valet style parking?

Yes, that’s exactly how CPS do it. It is pricier but you have the convenience of it being right at the front door of the terminal and you know it’s secure. There have been nightmare stories from cruises who’ve used budget or unofficial parking services lately.

Apologies, missed the first part. You park in the holding area, hand over your keys and they park it. When you get off, you pick up your keys and they’ll direct you to the car, they are opposite the terminals so only a few minutes and you’re on your way!

Hi. Would you think someone with a fear of heights would struggle on this ship
No, you should be fine, unless you purposely looked down. Most times looking out you don’t feel a sense of height. Maybe sitting in the aft retiring where you can see the wake might, but then you are on the lowest point of the ship.
