KP had pretty much career averages last year not much different than his other seasons really. KP is not a great post player because he's basically just a catch a shoot guy. Well it’d be one thing if luka wasn’t passing the ball to kp when he posts up in the paint. Thing is kp nearly never does that, if luka wanted a shot from the outside he’d either A. Do it himself or B. Pass to someone like hardaway. The thing is too that the mavs are fine from 3 or what not, they have players who can shoot, but the mavs need for their 7 foot 3 player to actually go be a threat in the paint, to give the team and luka another option. And that's why I ultimately blame Rick Carlisle for this. I've seen this for 2 years, and not one single person wants to point this out. Almost every play design starts KP at the corner 3 this season. Luka drops a lot of points for sure, but just look at how many easy shots KP has compared to all those tough shots he does. All these Luka fanboys only rave about all the tough shots he's making. KP deserves better, hope he goes to a team that really utilises him properly. i have been in a similar situation(much much lower level) and i decided to become kind of a madman hustler, going for offensive rebounds, steals, trying to draw charges and eventually received the respect of the better players. Kristaps can do that like Agassi went down to the qualifiers but he should have more rebounds and more defensive presence. He should not be worried about fouls as his minute max of 30 makes it irrelevant. I wish a friendly counsel can whisper this in his ear. I hear what people are saying but it is almost like passive aggressive behavior, spacing, getting back on defense like Danny Ferry or Scanibrine.. He is far better
From the way i see it, it looked like luka just having tumnel vision stemming from his ego. Lile those last second possessions. But you cant fault porzingis for feeling frustrated especially when you really are wide open.
After watching this I want to gift Porzingis a toy basketball set to play with in his room, give him a hug, hold him in my arms and tell him that things are going to be alright, he matters, isnt an afterthought for me
1) he is very young and will learn when watching film to improve 2) that’s also the coaching staffs fault for not pointing it out and telling Luka when Porz sets the pick, if a double follows him, he has to kick it to Porz for the open 3
Don’t use that “he’s young” excuse. He’s been playing pro ball since he was 16. He is much more seasoned that every player his age. He should know what to do when KP pops to the perimeter because he knows KP barely ever rolls to the paint. Trae Young passes out of PnRs/PnPs. So does LaMelo, Ja, and even Tyrese Halliburton. Luka is miles ahead of ALL of these listed players. He’s selfish. Say it as it is. That ego he has is why LeBron is 4-6 in the Finals because both Luka and LeBron want the be the reason their teams win. Yees! Same as most comments. I've been trying to tell this to everyone and no one believes me. Luka runs pick and rolls with Powel or just isolates the ball. KP can contribute if he would have the ball. In NYK he was the main guy, he came to Mavs to be the magic Duo to stand against AD and LBJ and others. He ended up all alone on 3-point line waiting for someone to give him the ball. Like KP said, it's better not to think about it and just do what coaches tells you. I saw this from fist season KP played with Luka. Plus if you look back in previous season, when Luka did play together with KP, then there was points for everyone and they ware dominating. Thanks for video!
Now this of course is a exaggeration(as it's a season long compilation) But unlike the article claiming this video is false, any fan that watched the games, knows that Luka doesn't always pass to the wide open guy and that KP might be the one with the highest percent of this happening. One thing to understand in this Ugly video of episodes of lack of sharing the ball. KP would way to often just stay out at the 3 point line, and sometimes start bricking them. Luka would be the coach on the floor and decide not to pass it to a guy who just wants to shoot practice 3's and not even making them. So some of these are actually good decisions(but not all of them) The good news is that Luka passes the ball so often to wide open guys, that if they were better catch and shoot guys, he would be averaging easy 16 assists a game. So that's going to get better as the team does. Also, Luka, Get KP the ball more.
Trae young is a better facilitator, point guard, and teammate than luka. Look at Trae man, leading his team without an all star calliber partner and making it to the ECF stealing game 1 against the bucks in his first ever playoff run. While luka still cant get tf out of first round against the same opponent

Some of these are actually well played concept wise by Luka but he definitely needs to find Kristaps for his jump shot way more. This shows bad understanding for Luka
While KP has been diminished by injuries, I think he just gets left our of the offense a lot. His role is to be a floor spacer. But Luka could do a better job of inspiring his teammates, get them involved, and just take over late. It would be better for team chemistry and wold translate to more wins. If KP is energized he'd play better. It sucks to be a just a spot up 3 point shooter if you have other skills. Coaches need to develop him so he could help Luka.
NBA and DALLAS owners and staff are really dumb...LUKA wasnt good with DIRK...why would he be with KP who is a 7,3ft guy who plays like a SG instead of playing like a big.... D.POWELL is the perfect match for him..

@@kir3167 ????? one is from LATVIA and the other from SLOVENIA.. LUKA played in MADRID and KP in the other side of SPAIN in SEVILA so i really doubt that they were friends...
from what i've seen. kp is trying to get the mismatch he can get so that he can post them up or pop, just like what dirk used to do. the difference is, he doesn't get the ball even when he is open. i dont get why a lot of people hate on kp. the reason why he underperformed, at least in my opinion, is he doesn't get the touches he needs, every play is ran through luka. i mean luka is their best player and deserves to have the ball in his hands, but cmom, at least feed your co star. Luka is at faul as much as kp.
As you can see, Kristaps went from complaining to not saying anything at all, so he is used to this. Tbh if this is the team chemistry that Luka is having then the coach or GM should do something
Some of these passes wouldn't be good passes because the defender is right near Porzingis so wouldn't make sense to pass or the pass would be risky. Personally I think porzingis should do more than just stand at 3 point line but this is coaching's fault
@@djvasforever that’s not coaching lol. Rick has said in post game interviews that KP needs to be more active in the paint. KP just scared of getting hurt again and would rather stay behind the 3 pt line
Funny thing is luka made a lot of these shots. Though I will say there was a lot more examples not shown. the only ones I had a problem with was either early in the game when KP hadn't had enough looks to find a rythem or when he set great screens or had just done some Plus type of play and not given the wide open shot to reward the hustle. Coming to a conclusion based on a few seconds of film, that obviously doesn't look good and not on the bigger picture is obviously a mistake as well. As stated prior, sometimes KP was just camping out, even when he wasn't hitting the side of the barn, and Luka was making a educated play for the team by not rewarding him for this.
Lebron did the same thing as Luka; made his elite costars mediocre. Turned Love and Bosh into long range Bombers, had no chemistry with Wade and Kyrie.
If you're not a spot up shooting role player or a roll to the rim big, you're not gonna like playing with Luka. He needs to cut this ball dominant basketball style if he wants more playoff success. He did well with Goran and Randolph in 2018, so he clearly can change his style of basketball. Until then, no all-star will enjoy playing with another Houston Harden or OKC Westbrook who controls the ball all the time.
Another moron who doesn't know anything about basketball. The narrative that harden is selfish while being on a team with cp3, Westbrook, and KD/Kyrie is laughable. Houston brought that gsw team to 7 games and would've won if cp3 didn't get injured, so idk what "winning" basketball looks like to you, but Harden gives his team the easiest looks and that's shown right now in Brooklyn as Joe Harris is having a field day. Luka also makes his team better as his passing is elite. The guy averaged 10 assists after all. A 4 minute clip out of context doesn't invalidate the fact that Luka needs better teammates and porzingis is trash.
He could be literally average 20 pts and 20 ast. If he’d just trust his teammates and throw them the ball when they’re open. And that’s only porzingis he’s not throwing to. Imagine the other 3 guys
This is what I am telling the Dallas fans in social media, if the ball is on luka's hand the offense is stagnant, but if they use James Johnson as their primary ball handler the offense flows. but at the end this will be luka's team and there will be no championship to dallas if he is the franchise player.

So some of these are actually good decisions(but not all of them)
The good news is that Luka passes the ball so often to wide open guys, that if they were better catch and shoot guys, he would be averaging easy 16 assists a game. So that's going to get better as the team does.

Don’t ever compare Luka to Lebron , Bron in his earlier years would have KP looking like a superstar
Lebron did the same thing as Luka; made his elite costars mediocre. Turned Love and Bosh into long range Bombers, had no chemistry with Wade and Kyrie.
greg kuhn I’m talking about Bron in Cleveland first couple years
If you're not a spot up shooting role player or a roll to the rim big, you're not gonna like playing with Luka.
Or he could roll to the basket once in his life. Wannabe 7'3 curry hes garbage, 4 reb a game
Ugnius he could and he’d be wide open too. But then luka would realize he can’t drive and would shoot a step back😂🤣
@@RiM2540 luka feeds his teammates except porzingis and good. Ship his ass somwhere else garbage player
silly riley
I hope y’all are Mavericks fans and actually watch. I don’t the follow Mavs close but I know enough about them?
This is what I am telling the Dallas fans in social media, if the ball is on luka's hand the offense is stagnant, but if they use James Johnson as their primary ball handler the offense flows. but at the end this will be luka's team and there will be no championship to dallas if he is the franchise player.
LuKKKa stans downvoting lmao
Luka and coaching will kill Mavs
Yes trade Luka and keep KP makes sense 😂😂
@@aesir1ases64 I didn't say keep KP. But one player are not the team. We saw last year and now. There are nothing to tell about injuries. Every top team one of leader are out, then all of them sucks? Did Embid, did Durant, did Kawai? Did one of them ignore coplayers? Even Harden are different now. I want tell that Luka as scorer are awesome, same KP, just Luka have to make a game, but KP cannt, therfor coach have to find out how them use. That are basketball not streetball!
