These run castor 927 maxima and burn off the oil with total loss like the JLO diesel. Most of these burn 30 or 40 weight fed through the bottom and burnt in the cylinder.
Had one of this on a drilling rig. Didn't have enough power to run all the hydraulics + two mud pumps. Replaced it with Deutz V12 then. Even better engine is two stroke Detroit V12. Have it on another drilling rig and this engine is bulletproof and very economic.

And because that smoke smells so good, I don't give a damn how much poison comes out. The smoke and poison is ALWAYS too little. I like the mechanical oil injection pumps these have, about a few gallons on motul 800 2 stroke oil into the oil tank is the best oil for these, silkolene pro 2 sx is just as good but not cheap.

I have seen 6 and 3 cyl on barge winch and generator with a separate oil tank if a few gallons, there was a few 1 gallon jugs of motul 800 2 stroke oil near them so it could be added as it ran burnt off oil,!these were the 2 stroke valved versions with mechanical oil feed metering pumps driven off the front of the deutz engine! Sounded awesome too.

No I mean this engine at idle, at 1:49 sounds exactly like the magnum v6 in my old Dodge Dakota when it was idling. My trucks engine had a little bit of a whine from the alternator when it idled. This one has a similar sounding whine but idk what’s creating it.
