I heard Laura say it once to gabby but turning and facing the horses makes them want to back up and move away from the pressure of gabby turning facing and pulling on them. If you turn forward and then give a couple tugs it will give the horses the correct commands to walk on. Just a little advise to make it easier for person and horse

Gabby made me want to scream every time she tried to drag storm into something he didn’t want to do
@@jannevievearena this is why they need additional lessons in how to ground train. I know they got some instruction on it this year, but they are still missing some pieces to the puzzle. Maybe Fiona will work with them on the obstacles during this trip. I don't want to see Gabby accidentally over by Storm spazzing about the big tires. He came close.

JMAEquine I have to agree most people(including my non-equestrian friend) tries to make themselves seem more experienced then what they actually are gabby is storms leader and she’s giving him mixed signals obviously there still learning and I’m not hating on them but there still a lot of things that they need to learn One of them is how to properly load a horse

I love how much Gracie trusts Gabby, as i noticed that when Sophie was trying to groom Gracie, she seemed a bit stressed or anxious. But as soon as Gabby came, Gracie just stood there and calmed down! 😍❤🐴
Age doesnt have anything to do with how insane a horse is. Any horse can be dead broke u have to work with them and be confident in the rider and the horse. My 3 year old is the clamest horse in the barn, so dont give finn a free pass bc "he is only 8" BC he is learning that he can push u around
Exactly i have a 4yr old that is the best and most calm horse i have and i have a soon to be 30yr old horse that bucks and bites and freaks out and all that and if you try and walk him or lunge him he will try and trample you
@@Emily-xy8oy yea idk why ppl give horses excuses for behaviour issues. I mean yea sometimes is bc of pain but 90% of the time its outta disrespect. Finn is being taught that it's ok to push Sophia and all them around with no punishment. He is only gonna get stronger and worse

@@racinghunnibunn5245 exactly and same with storm he gets away with bucking (I feel like it could also be from pain) and so he does it more but in my opinion Sophie needs a better horse for her like one that won't push her around and all of that and I super well trained horse that won't spook at anything and knows it can't push people around and all of that

Sophie never let Finn run through the obstacles cause it teaches them to race through them and that it’s okay to try to get through them at turbo speed. Because you might come back to it in the future and you want Finn to stop and he runs through you and push you out of the way

A tip for Sophie, Dont let Finn run through the obstacle because that makes him think its okay to run through something thats scary. And a tip for Gabbie, If you want your horse to go through the curtain or the noodles its best to stay by his side and/or to let him sniff and definitly not pull him through! I hope you have a nice camping trip, seems like fun

If you’re trying to get your horse to stand on the tires like a pedestal don’t have them walk off it. Make them back off it. Or they will get in the habit of walking off and won’t stay on.

I would let the horses stand infront of each obstacle for a while and smell it out bec just taking them in and making em do it can cause stress. Take it slow and stay calm especially with a hotter horse like fin ( who btw is so stinking cute omg ). The best working horse is a happy and willing horse so stay calm and focused and quiet so u can listen to your horse. If something’s not working change something that your doing . Either way such kind horses and dedicated equestrians !
When gabby was trying to get storm through the pool noddles, try to trot him through them and if that doesn’t work walk right next to his shoulder when you go through

Don’t look at the horses when your leading them through, give them a long rope and don’t pull and pull. Pressure and release xx

hey laura a tip for loading the horses onto the trailer
- try and load them normally
- if they don’t load back them up and turn them in a tight circle
- you may have to do it a few times
i do it with my horses and they load like a dream
They load on our trailer like a dream.
Sophie a little tip is try and keep the lead rope a bit long but not as long that you can’t quite control him but just a bit longer because that’s probably why he shakes his head quite a lot on the ground
I wanted to say a easy way too load a horse in the trailer when you are having trouble and the aren’t wanting too go you hold the halter by it’s side and walk with them it has helped me.
Okie not hate just addive for next time storm has more than likely never seen the some of the obstacles and I can relate my pony is a drama queen and spooks and refused everything!! Lead then up to the obstacle and give them a loose rein let them look at it from both side and let them touch it and sniff ,then walk them away from it , lead them back up to it and try walk them through it if they refuse do the same thing again if they still refuse try put a more confidence horse to go in front of your horse , if that still doesn't work try lead them through , hopefully this was helpful!!!

When storm does not want to go though. You stop him turn him then make him walk back then go. Walk him and stop walk and then stop then walk then tie it helps with my pony’s and horses and when they trie and walk over you do that it will help

When you go to load the horses walk beside them all the way until you get into the door in then get infront it might help
