i love the starts to these videos, the music etc, keep up the good work Sean, you are a brilliant motivation to thousands, climbed Snowdon twice in horrendous conditions!!
Good stuff , when I got back on a mtb bike after 30yrs gap since riding the streets all time as a teenager , i started to cycle with a friend who was just so much naturaly quicker then me , a much better cyclist as well. After a while he said I just pedal too slow 🐌 just pedal quicker !!! Oh yeh that made sense , now 10yrs later i try and peddle faster when I remember , getting better subconsciously 😃 found out they call it cadence in cycling world 🤠
Forward lean improved my speed. Stand still and start to lean your body forward, gravity will take over and you have to start running. The idea is you let gravity do some of the work. If too straight upright, 100% of your forward momentum comes from your legs and feet. It takes some practice, I had to run 100m then stop, lean forward and start again. It took ages but got there. 👍
Maybe you should do a couple of local park runs. Even if it's just once a month to see how you're doing. Short 5k's, completely free, and you get an official time.
If you want to run in the name of efficiency then surely you want to ditch the hugely cushioned trainers and start utilising the tendons and ligaments’ built in elasticity as they were designed. There’s a lot of power being lost through that cushion. Landing on an almost flat foot (which is impossible in those shoes) in a barefoot shoe will also help the spring/recoil you’re talking about and over time, it’ll strengthen your feet massively too.
Sean, question: What does he mean by centerline and bow? Is it a line in the center of your body that runs navel to head through the core of your body or a line that is painted on the front of your body from your navel to your forehead? Then, Is it a true bow with the middle having an apex? Where is the apex? Or, is it a bow that continually curves forward with your forehead in front of everything?

Always love your videos, mate. And that's coming from a fellow plodder -- what would be your typical min/km split for a weekday run out of interest?
Parkrun is a good way to motivate you to run faster.
Sean great video, what sunglasses are you using?

So does that mean you'll be at your local parkrun this saturday to run 5k?
108 days to go for what?
Wolves. If they don't speed you up. Then well.
