- Welcome to this channel! I am Sanda.
I paint, I hike, I love nature and I teach Croatian.
In this video I will take you to the Croatian mountain region called Gorski kotar. We will visit Delnice, the highest town in Croatia. I went to enjoy a wonderful day in the snowy mountains, sledding and hiking with my dog.
I also visited Mrkopalj, a place that is very dear to my heart. The nature here is wonderful, it feels like entering a winter wonderland.

This year, I plan on uploading new videos about life in Croatia.
I will show you moments of how I live and what I do, so that you can feel how living in Croatia is like and see it through my eyes.
I will take you along to the sea, to the gardens, to the forests and to the villages... there will probably be some Croatian food and occasionally Croatian traditions. I will paint, walk my dog, and teach you some Croatian along the way.
This year, I will organize new groups for learning Croatian in a group setting, on Zoom.
There are still spots available, so let me know if you are interested to learn more.
I will have limited availability, so contact me as soon as possible if you are really interested in joining the lessons and learning the Croatian language.

Glad you enjoyed it! My dog had the best time that day. She was playing in the snow and running freely for hours. That school was called "The School of Peace", but in fact it was like a summer camp. I think it was an incredible project, after the war. The truth is, that people in the aftermath of any war just want peace. It is all about preserving peace, not creating more conflict. In the end it is ordinary people that suffer.

Jajaja, si, ¡fue divertido!
Se ve tanta paz en ese pueblo. Es como el lugar perfecto para vivir y la arquitecta es única. Es como la mezcla de varias épocas distintas de la historia de los balcanes. Y el frío le da como un toque místico al paisaje. Yo sé que Dostoyevski es ruso, no croata jaja, pero cuando veo ese paisaje me imagino la novela de Dostoyevski que se llama "Los Hermanos Karamazov", que transcurre en un pueblito pequeño de ambiente silencioso y todos los habitantes del pueblo se conocen.
Mí mamá es de un pueblito así tranquilo, aunque el pueblo de ella es un poco más grande y ruidoso (como todo pueblo caribeño, la gente es ruidosa), y el clima allá es infernal (casi nunca baja de 30 grados). En el pueblo de mí madre es casi imposible salir a la calle antes de 5 de la tarde porque el sol te rostiza. La ciudad donde vivo también es así, pero como está junto al mar, la brisa calma las altas temperaturas. El pueblo se llama Mompox, es patrimonio de la Unesco.
¡Que interesante, gracias mucho por describirlo! No puedo imaginar cómo es vivir en un lugar tan calido todo el tiempo.
