My DREAM Became REAL. Tracking LIVE With Bob Dylan
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 чер 2024
- Last spring I got to record 30 songs with Bob Dylan. The project was spread out over two months.
ALL the songs were tracked live off the floor... It was truly a "bucket list" experience :)

Man, that’s quite possibly the coolest thing that could happen to a fella. What a great story Tim! Congrats 😊
Love this!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I enjoy and appreciate you and Tim sharing your incredible abilities in making music Rick.
You guys are a real gift to all music peoples TYTYTY🙏😎
BEATO!
Both of you are my favorite
Those old “mic in a room” recordings are the best, the natural reverb and artists chemistry can’t be duplicated.
What an awesome story Tim, it sounded like an absolute dream session
That's absolute madness! Congratulations, Tim. Can't think of anyone more deserving 🙌🏻
AMAZING TIM!
I've been waiting for this one and the '52 J-185 (never knew you had this) is a huge bonus Tim. Man!
Keith thank you, it was a wild ride :)
You rule five watt I love both your channels!
I love both of your channels as well- such great enthusiasts of the Golden Era of music and guitar tone!!!
Sure. Thought you'd never ask. First met Dillon was he with Joan Biaz and the Rolling Thunder Review and they stayed at the Wacollah Inn near Tallahassee. I chided Bobby at bringing the Rolling Thunder Review along with them. Told him he and Joan were so followed they could have done FSU alone and still filled the place. Dillon looked at me and said but this is all we know....bovine sewage said I you two are gods. Might as well get use to it now. They were and still are last time I checked. And you too. We mere mortals all owe you for the shine on our grings we once walked with gods. Thanks to you. John Baker
That's so cool, Tim. Congrats!
My mother went to high school with Mr Robert Zimmerman. Still has her year book with Bob. Glad you got to experience that.
Amazing video! And what a moment for you, Tim, to be the guitar in a 4-piece combo with Dylan!! As a lifelong Dylan fan I'm so encouraged -- and not at all surprised -- by the fact that at 80 he's still got it.
Bob's method of "first takes on the edge of learning" can create magic. It also creates trainwrecks. That's a way of working not all of us are cut out to handle! I know that would destroy me.
Congrats, Tim! You earned your spot in that quartet by your talent, your professionalism, your personality, your focus on the song and your role in making it better. What a great story. Thanks for sharing!
Congratulations Tim. Only the best get that call. I’m now on a search to find the video.
Wow. You're living the dream, man. I was sweating and palpitating just by hearing about it. A true bucket list experience. Legendary. Thank you for sharing this.
I had the good fortune of being part of the film production crew for the Shadow Kingdom project. When we completed filming and Bob was making his way off the set he shook my hand and thanked me. It was the highlight of my year.
What did you do? PA? AC?
@@tonysanches3545 I’m a lighting programmer.
@@johncrimins1942 Watching the Forever Young clip. Lighting on a project actually named "Shadow Kingdom" is essential. Kudos
How totally awesome is that???? Great for you , Tim! Well-deserved, brother!!!
Couldnt have happened to a nicer guy or more accomplished musician. I’m convinced there’s nothing Tim couldn’t play. Can’t imagine being in a session with somebody as iconic as Bob Dylan, learning songs as you’re playing them. Pressure! Glad Tim got to experience this opportunity of a lifetime!
This is wonderful history-made alive in the moment, by a real musician who appreciates both. Congratulations! You were picked for a reason. Thank you for sharing this.
Lots of cool stuff happens. But this is on another level. Congrats Tim.
I loved this, it is about the love and respect we have for the music. Thanks for sharing it. I saw the live stream, fantastic. I see Bob Dylan in a couple weeks. It’s all pure joy.
I can’t like this enough. Very very cool & glad you got to do this. Kudos to you, Tim.

How wonderful and fantastic for you!
So happy for you to have that experience - thanks for sharing!
Great to you get that excited doing another session. Thanks for sharing.
This is now my favorite Tim Pierce video. It proves that even a veteran musician can be as passionate about playing as a beginner feels mastering their first song. Music breathes life into me every day. Thank you Tim.
wow ! so cool ! thanks for sharing the details of this process.
what a beautiful thing, thats great news Tim!
You passion and your heart and soul for music inspires me to tears of joy that you were in the room creating with Dylan. You deserve this honor. You are truly living your dream. Rock on!
Thank you for the Dylan insight. Compelling. Always interesting to hear the details of his genius, and that it continues at 80.

Thanks for giving us mere mortals a glimpse into such an iconic and wonderful situation.
An amazing experience for you Tim.
To be called on and sitting in that chair catapulted back in time along with everyone involved. Thank you for continuing to pour out your bucket to share with us.
Tim, congrats, AND I could listen to your storytelling any time!
Really pleased for you Tim, love the way you tell it from your heart.

This is super cool! I can't wait to hear the rest of the songs (already watched the Shadow Kingdom). Hope they put out an album from these sessions soon!
Wow thats the kind of thing we
fantasize about. They certainly had trust in you what a great story.
Tim, I subscribe to your channel, so appreciate your stuff, but I gotta say this is one of the best videos of yours I have watched, we all would be in the same awe of such an iconic artist and I can only imagine how it felt to be in such a setting with him. Your excitement at such an opportunity really came through! Good for you man!
Thanks for sharing this, Tim. I can't begin to imagine what it was like and I'll surely watch it again. And again. And...
Wow, what an experience! Thanks for sharing Tim.
That’s a wonderful thing you lived Tim!😃
What a trip to be able to do this. With all the artists you've played with, it's great that you could still be awestruck by Dylan. Well done!
Tim you are absolutely the right person to call for that job. Not just for your incredible suitability and talent for the project but for your amazing humility.
And yes, Wow, what a moment in your life. I'm so pleased for you.
Outer body experience for sure. You deserve it, brother.
(Of course I'm jealous!). 😊
Thank you for sharing this fantastic story . . . . . . awwwesome!
That is such an awesome story and quite an experience to enjoy in your musical journey.. What an accomplishment and great feeling for you Tim!! Thank you for sharing your intimate thoughts about your experience. I really enjoyed it and appreciate this opportunity to hear about it from you. I would love to hear more of your success stories Tim!! You are a super musician and I applaud you for your enthusiasm and creativeness!! Congratulations!! :-)
Dylan, Don Was, T-bone Burnett.......... you , my friend, have joined the pantheon of legends,.... and rightly so!!!
So happy that someone like you got to experience such a magical moment.
To us students, it's nice to see you get this opportunity. Good on you Tim, you deserve it.
This is great. Thank you for the insight
From 8:27 to 9:12 is a wonderful description of a master songwriter in action. It sounds like Dylan was essentially letting the song direct him, allowing lyrics to flow rather than trying to force the lyrics. In Zen archery there's a thing called aiming without aiming. It sounds like Dylan was doing something like that, only with words instead of arrows.
priceless - love Tim's stories
Awesome. Just awesome.
Very cool story Tim. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
Such a memorable experience! Not only playing with your hero, but watching him in action after being inspired by the band of musicians he's working with...seems like no better compliment, sign of respect. Awesome! 🤙🏼
Excellent adventure!!! Thanks for sharing 🎸🎶🙏
Just finished watching it, before it disappears. Wonderful arrangements.
Thanks for sharing Tim, so cool. ✌🏼
So cool Tim, I have a gang of Bob Dylan songs in my library, one of my favs for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking the time to share with us your experience. What an honor to be the key rhythmic piece for Bob. Excellent storytelling as always Tim.
Great story! Thanks for sharing...
Thanks Tim for sharing you experience with an epic icon! What a great memory to have!
Yes I was very fortunate to be able to experience it
Wow, what a great experience, thanks for sharing it and also sharing the respect and professionalism one must have to be a player at your level working with artists at Bob Dylan's level.
Just such an amazing story - among a lifetime of great stories! Good on you, Tim.
Sounds like a total bucket list expierience Tim. Thanks for sharing.
Wow super kudos man, how exciting and nerdy can it get, not better than that, great tale.
Very moving video...............Thanks Tim!
Congratulations Tim.
Awesome and grats!!!
Thank you for sharing 🙏
Wow, amazing opportunity. Thanks for sharing the story in a respectful way. Bob Dylan is just fantastic. I saw him live once it was great.
I can watch this all day. Keep it going, Tim!
That was a great vid. Appreciate the story and your feelings of the experience
I'm so glad you got to do this....to see him work and write. That's.....no words
Wow, Tim. Just...wow.
I can see why you were chosen for the project. Apart from your masterful musical skills, this video presentation was enthusiastic and rolled the story melodically. Your eyes, however, revealed that this video take was no fluke. You eyes hinted that your success comes from being fully prepared and that your presentation was fully scripted. Not only are you an amazing musician and personality, but your hidden monitor reading skills are supurb too... Just a smilin' fan!
Wow, what a great experience Tim!!! This is awesome!
Greatness everywhere.....I love it
This channel never ceases to amaze and entertain me...... Love the back stories behind the music but better than just the story I love listening to the "feelings" that are felt within your experiences..... best darn YTch ..... oh... and the guitar playing stuff is just the icing on the cake..... well done young man..... stay safe and greetings from a flooded downunder fan.....
Wow Tim! I'm so happy for you getting that opportunity, and I'm sure you knocked it out of the park as they say. Good on ya!!!
Mind blower session. Mad respect for your heart and talent. Music is the BEST!
Fascinating experience Tim! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm happy for you. It must have been great to play with him , be treated well and have a great experience. Congratulations.
