Music is a generational construct, out parents thought rap music in the 80s and 90s was noise and crap. Now we call the current hip hop crap, same thing out parents said.
+LittyBros Finesse yo name should be special stupid ed. he talking about nice clean lyrcial bars and yes he right. you don't hear bars like this no more nowadays. just clean and lyrcial. now you do. have some good rappers today. If the song not about killling and stuff like that, the majority of the younger generation don't wanna hear it. That's my opinion. say what you wanna.
I wouldn’t have it no other way these beats and bars are trash and don’t hold an attention of 5 year old now a days. There are only a handful now that makes the cut but not great enough.💯
"I'm high post, higher than most....I'm not from France but I eat French toast". Every time I say that to the waitresses at IHOP or Denny's, they just look at me like I'm crazy....lol.
Tell the preacher you committed sin, you battled Special Ed when you couldn't win. Effortless flow with clever rhymes, excellent story teller, dressed like a school teacher in some videos and yet still has swag. One the best of all time based on the first album alone.
Imagine any rapper now completing a full album with no cursing let alone just 1 song, this age of rap told stories that made sense and never had to use bad language
When this video came out EVERYONE in middle school & high school was talking about it.. No one saw a real hovercraft in action before.. aside from Special Ed being such a young & talented artist.
Let's be honest...it takes gigantic balls to flip a beat AND use a loop of one of the greatest MC's of all time and he did it not too long after Follow the Leader dropped. I wonder what Rakim thought when this song dropped?
Lol wow this just made vevo... "I got it made" was his signature song but this has been one of all time favs... and haha him on that hovercraft was one of the illest things I had saw in a video back then
I recently been listening to some Special Ed lately...I didn't appreciate his flow back in the day, because so many lyricists were around, but goddamn, Ed was ahead of his time for such a young brotha. One of the greatest!

I’m that old white dude that was rockin this out the sunroof of the maxima back in the early 90’s. 17 & Headed to the skating rink in Fayetteville, NC. Trying to be cool. Hilfiger head to toe bc…you know…we can never get those days back but at least we lived in them. The greatest era of hip hop. God bless to all of yall.
Why doesn’t some young teenager rapper somewhere in the USA use the 80s/90s as inspiration? Please use them. Streets need this vibe. The current stuff out now is...

In a limited way, compared to the hours I put in during those years, when I directed and edited around 2 music videos per month. I edit short podcasts in iMovie now.
No rapper ever in history has ever used a hovercraft in their video. Special Ed is the first and the last to do this. Real hip-hop !!!
The Beastie Boys did years later
What does that have to do with being "REAL" hiphop?
@@JustDawn c'mon lady, you don't know nothing about hip-hop. Stick to Kiss and Madonna.
@@shanswanwaters5822 Again, you show you don't know what you're talking about..

A MOTHAFUCKIN HOVERCRAFT!!!!
1985 bacc to the future marty had a hover board
A GOT DAMN HOVERCRAFT!!!!
Think about that a hovercraft in 89
This is no ordinary hovercraft. It has similar gadgets as James Bond's Austin Martin in Goldfinger!!!!!! It's rigged by Q
This guy packed a career's worth of rhymes into a single song.
exactly my thoughts. he could have saved some for the future
I like how you put that
He got pages and pages
It's a national tragedy that Special Ed didn't have a long career as dope as he was.
He made it further into the 90s than most rapper from the 80s
Just thankful he gave us a moment though!!! Priceless ❤❤❤

I saw Special Ed in 1990 at the Palace theater in Albany. Ten City opened up for him singing “That’s the way love is”. That was a show!
