I have to be honest. I don’t care for this performance. The different themes of the music mush together so that I just hear a blur of sound. I am sure the problem is not with Mr. Karosi’s technique. I have heard enough of his performances to know that he is invariably precise and correct. I can’t decide whether the problem lies in the composition or in the registration or the voicing of this organ or some combination.
I thought it was too much reverb until I listened on my phone speaker instead of headphones and I heard the notes better. I think the reverb has a very low tone in this recording which blends with the organ, hence why it would be easier to hear the notes with only the high frequencies from the phone speaker
The effect of the Dulcian 16' on the plenum is stunning ! Adds roughness and complexity to the sound. Like a polish Cymbal stop.

Would a “leaner” registration have helped I wonder?
