A big thanks to Guido for putting this together. Guido, if you’re reading this, the Bell Tower of Pomposa Abbey still stands.

One observation: the use of "ti" is exclusive to anglophone countries. The original syllable used everywhere is "si".

Thanks for this. It'l help giving a fine beginning for the student learning music-notes. It's important though to go further back in time to find notes written long before Guido. Just to give an impression of the importans of music for humans during all time...

Great video! What was the name of their music notation before it was placed on a satff? Did Guido de Arezzo's new music staff system have a name?

Guidonian hand is the way to mess up all the initial invention of Guido's initial intend: notes placed ON and BETWEEN the lines. He used fingers as the lines of the Grand Staff. The rest of the story is good.

By the way.. Krishna used to play flute in 3200 BCE (in dwaparyuga).. Also Ravan was a master "Veena player" in (treta yuga)... Vedic Indians are master in music playing and we Indians used music as a tool of salvation, bliss and happiness.. world must know this and hence it is been shared to the best of my knowledge...!

Cheers for this, I been tryin to find out about "how does music affect children's learning?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Foonlant Dumbstruck Formula - (do a google search ) ? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to teach your child to read music notes without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend got great results with it.

Music notation (as we know it) is a terrible self-indulgent creation for the purpose to serve the Church.
All folk music, other ethnic music outside of this Church influence have been existing and transmitted throughout the centuries by learning and by ear, exercises on the instrument.
Hence, the Music notation is ambiguous, clumsy to write and... frankly said... even wrong!
