I love Georgian Bay. Used to go to Britt, Ontario fishing for pike. About a 6 hour drive from NY State. Great video, I’m new to snowmobiles just picked up a 2006 Ski Doo 500ss GSX. This video is helpful, planning what to carry on my sled.
Excellent video. My husband Adam Kent, does little bit of work with Louis Skebo and his Powermodz channel. Louis rigs his sled up mainly for an off trail experience, however 1 hazzard that on and off trail riders always face is getting stuck! Stuck Such! So as a trail rider myself, I started carrying a product that Powermodz recommended, called the Snobunje Rattler, either the Rattler or Cobra are a must carry for all types of sleders. The other universal hazard is the cold! Nothing is fun in the cold. So I carry extra heavy mitts/gloves. Extra socks. Extra beleclava. Extra undershirt. Sweating can cause terrible coldness, when the sun is out open up those vents... be sure to close them up at night! I also carry a few packets of "Hot Shots" for my toes and hands.. Just a few thoughts from a very active snowmobiling family!
Hi Seanna, yep, I know that product. I talk about my easy out pull out strap in a couple of videos. Same idea without the spring. I like it because it has a few uses and takes up very little space. ua-cam.com/video/RY24-GcgRqg/v-deo.html
Great video, as usual, Dave. Nice touch with the drone and very good safety suggestions. One thing I think is often overlooked as a safety tactic is to try not to ride alone. Even if that's just riding 2 up on a sled you have help if one person falls ill. Thanks for including me in the video.
Wow Dave, I remember watching one of your first videos when it came out and I was so excited to watch it. I feel the exact same about this one!! It's amazing how much you have progressed throughout the year in terms of video quality. I really look forward to seeing more of you videos!! Keep up the good work !
Excellent addendum Dave, some great suggestions that I've added to my own list. Since you normally don't need a whole roll of Gorilla tape, just take an old credit card and wrap a bunch of tape around it. There's also enough room to put a good number of winds of electrical tape, also great for so many uses, even a good backing for band aids or gauze to stop bleeding.
Good combo👍 I got a rebuilt 91JagDlx440LT low geared, and a 01 SXR700. I use the Jag on my 120 mile round-trip logging runs and does very well, top-speed is 40 plus mph😂 pretty slow.
Hi, Vincent. Thank you! I have a couple of videos posted that might be useful. Buying a used sled - ua-cam.com/video/6lInvUjpWjI/v-deo.html A few good tips before hitting the trail. ua-cam.com/video/CZ78wuby12Y/v-deo.html You should also check out my "What to wear" video.... I think staying warm is one of the key things to enjoying the sport. If you get cold and miserable, it won't me much fun. Welcome to the sport!
Great tips I have 3 sleds love them. I was thinking about bringing a 12 outlet to install to the harness so I can charge things like a cell phone ect. Is that possible?

Hi PB. I spoke to that in the original video.
Ok. I must have forgotten. Even with my new sled I just feel safer if I'm not alone.

Are there posted speed limits for your trails deep in the woods? I understand all trails having them in some spots.

50 km/h - on roads where the speed limit is over 50 km/h

Good points ,but you should ALWAYS have a old fashion compass and know how to use it..as batteries can fail.
Good one.
