I'd like to see Retro Ups and Downs for Summerslam 1993. It's the 30th anniversary, it was in the Detroit area just like this years, and I just want to hear Simon talk about the Lex Express.
11:47 I probably will, just to save time. Barbie first, then Oppenheimer. You wanna end the night on a positive note. 😅 Fun edit btw, love a good text gag!
Actually being there made it better than it actually was. When we left, I saw so many kids crying that Cena lost. Edge vs Del Rio, Punk vs Randy, Cody vs Mysterio and Trips vs the Deadman were pretty damn good.
Simon Miller needs an action figure! I don't care for what company and put any belt on him. I saw him at WrestleMania for ups and downs and he is straight Jacked!
When people on the internet complain about current WWE and AEW product being supposedly bad, I would suggest them to first go back and watch WWE shows around the time of WM27 included, knowing that the only other viable mainstream alternative was Hogan's TNA. The only memorable part of this Wrestlemania really was Taker vs HHH.
Snooki and Limp Bizkit's "Nookie" being referred to as popular at "around about the same time" but being over a decade apart makes me feel so incredibly old
I know that there are a lot of people who call this one of the worst Wrestlemanias ever, but I just don't see it. Pretty much every match has the right result. Edge winning is great. Cody winning is great. I'd have liked to see CM Punk win, but the finish to that match was awesome. Undertaker winning is great. Snooki hits a nice cartwheel and Trish wins, which is great. Also, maybe a bit of a hot take, I think the ending to the main event actually works. The Rock costing Cena the match is great, and yes, even though The Miz should be nowhere near a WM main event, him lucking into the win is on brand for his character.
I think im the only person who actually enjoyed WM27, but it probably helps that I'm a amuz fan and I was there that night for my first live Wrestlemania
I was there and it was a rough to be there, but I will say that taker convinced everyone in the place he was hurt, it was so rough that his wife in the next match talked to the ref and seemed to be asking if he was ok. Her body language seemed to say she was really concerned about him, but once the ref talked to her and put his hands on her shoulder to let her know he was good she calmed down and had her match. something that you dont see on the network but something that you could see if you were in the crowd
Simon Miller needs an action figure! I don't care for what company and put any belt on him. I saw him at WrestleMania for ups and downs and he is straight Jacked!
This was during the decade from around 2010 to 2019 I didn't watch wrestling anymore and this proves I made the right decision. Aew brought me back in 2019 and now I'm full blown wrestling nerd again. Glad I missed this one tho.
The triple H taker match is one of my favorites of all the streak matches. From the build, the Johnny Cash song for Taker, and the way Triple H brutalized him like no one else before, it made Taker look super human!!! Made me believe that only a legit fighter/wrestler could beat him after that
Yes, completely incredible match. I take this over the Hell in a Cell at WM28. The opening few minutes they destroy each other. The tombstone spot was awesome, & then Taker winning after getting battered was really cool.
Awesome review Simon you're the best the best match of that Mania was Taker vs Triple H my suggestion for the next retro ups and downs would be Breakdown 98
How about a non-WWE retro review next week such as some of the NJPW shows like Wrestle Kingdom 11 since a lot of those wrestlers are starting to appear on US TV more frequently plus it includes some incredible matches? I'd also take ECW Heatwave 98.
What a fantastic comeback of retro ups and downs. The opening of Simon sitting and chatting normally with a fireplace in background and giving out laughs here and there was brilliant.
Would like to hear more about Simon's thoughts about Guest Stars in Wrestling. The comment about where the Bar is now intrigued me some. In days past there was a wider range of athletic skills a star needed to get in the Squared Circle. Now I imagine people expect a lot more out of a guest star... Or is there room for Celebs to engage in Silly Wrestling?
I like The Rock's backstage bits. They're hilarious and completely anti PC and because of the constant crying and people complaining about being offended, even if it's bad or tasteless I appreciate not caring about your feelings.
I know my first comment isn’t positive at all but that’s just because of my…………. (trying to say this in the way that it won’t automatically get flagged)……… huge dislike of stupid people TV! And also the fact that people always try to justify something they choose to do by saying everyone else also did it! Anyways, I am very happy that retro ups and downs is finally back! I am kinda confused about one thing though. I thought I’ve watched all of the WMs that had The Undertaker VS Triple H matches but I don’t remember this one at all! Like none of it rang a bell for me! How many times did they actually fight each other? I thought it was 3 (and I saw all those) but I guess there were more!?!
i was at this mania first wwe live show .. and i was 11 years old, so it always holds a special place for me but looking back on it thru the years yea it was kinda mid 🤣
I never understood why fans never gave Rey versus Cody its proper respect. It was pretty good, well-paced, and continued on the story in a natural way. Plus it had a finish that was not expected, but made a lot of sense
You are a brave man Simon, saying Mysterio could be the best wrestler of all time. The Kenny Omega loving IWC smarks will be pissing there pants and raging on Twitter about a comment like.
Does Adam do any videos to whatculture? I remember him from years back watching this channel. He just disappeared at some point or I just missed something.
Yessss! I love this series so much. Never take it from us again. Please, of course. And thank you, sirs.
24:20 She was teaming with Trish and John Morrison but she was facing LayCool and John Morrison wow Morrison can be on two different teams at once
I know, right?😅😅😅
I mean, it's a win-win for him either way
I'd like to see Retro Ups and Downs for Summerslam 1993. It's the 30th anniversary, it was in the Detroit area just like this years, and I just want to hear Simon talk about the Lex Express.
I have requested this before and my thoughts exactly
And to also talk about that crazy Bret, Doink and Lawler match
Love Retro Ups & Downs!
Warm and fuzzy in the tumtum time.
cole vs lawler was a suppressed memory in my brain that I never wished to revisit again
11:47 I probably will, just to save time. Barbie first, then Oppenheimer. You wanna end the night on a positive note. 😅
Fun edit btw, love a good text gag!
Actually being there made it better than it actually was. When we left, I saw so many kids crying that Cena lost. Edge vs Del Rio, Punk vs Randy, Cody vs Mysterio and Trips vs the Deadman were pretty damn good.
Brodus Clay was in there because he was Del Rio's NXT-Rookie at the time- remember that? :D
Simon saying “box-like structure” gets me every single time 😂
Had binge watched all the old retro ups and downs this week, buzzing to see this up today. love the retro ones makes me want to go fire up the network
So happy for another retro ups and downs.
I would like to see one on Sunmerslam 2000 since it is the season
If Simon can be an optimist about this show, you can accomplish your dreams!
I'm so happy you brought this back. You do God's work.
Simon For ROH 👍
Nope straight AEW
Rather have ROH than these throwbacks honestly
@@Oggy9156why? He's still watching the show, so why not?
People didn't watch the video enough 😢
Simon Miller needs an action figure! I don't care for what company and put any belt on him. I saw him at WrestleMania for ups and downs and he is straight Jacked!
Nookie was about 12 years old around the time of Mania 27.
Just correcting that fact.
I hope you're having a lovely day, simon! Please do Unforgiven (2006) next!! Dx vs McMahon hell in a cell & cena edge TLC!
It was one of the best MANIAS' I've experienced. Especially when I was there in attendance!!!! GIVE ME A UP SIMON!!!!!
When people on the internet complain about current WWE and AEW product being supposedly bad, I would suggest them to first go back and watch WWE shows around the time of WM27 included, knowing that the only other viable mainstream alternative was Hogan's TNA.

I use to pray for times like this;
thanks for bringing this back Simon
What a way to kickoff the weekend
This was the first ever PPV I watched live. I was 11 and it was with my brother. Good times.
"WWE always finds a way to humiliate Dolph".
Welp, seeing as they just fired him, I'd have to agree.
I hope he'll be ok.
Snooki and Limp Bizkit's "Nookie" being referred to as popular at "around about the same time" but being over a decade apart makes me feel so incredibly old

The episode of RAW when Seth turned on the SHIELD and Batista walked out, for a future Retro U and D.
I was here personally and I can confirm, the end pissed everybody off
I think im the only person who actually enjoyed WM27, but it probably helps that I'm a amuz fan and I was there that night for my first live Wrestlemania
Keep this best format for Retro Ups and Downs. Good play WhatCulture love it.
Great to have this series back 💯
I remember that CM Punk and Orton match. Never ever forget that RKO.
I was there and it was a rough to be there, but I will say that taker convinced everyone in the place he was hurt, it was so rough that his wife in the next match talked to the ref and seemed to be asking if he was ok. Ahhh a nice retro ups and downs for a brisk summer morning

Welcome back Retro U&Ds! 🎉
Say what you like about Albertooooooooooooooooooo but I swear he was over like rover with that entrance with Ricardo
This was my first wrestlemania that i watched after a hiatus of watching lol
I’m so happy Retro Ups and Downs are back! Thanks Simon. Please do Halloween Havoc 1995!
No no no
The triple H taker match is one of my favorites of all the streak matches. From the build, the Johnny Cash song for Taker, and the way Triple H brutalized him like no one else before, it made Taker look super human!!! Made me believe that only a legit fighter/wrestler could beat him after that

Let's do Cyber Sunday or Taboo Tuesday next
Thanks!
Thank you!

he hasn't even done a wwe retro review for ages yet, all theses aren't old enough to be retro
We can’t do NJPW shows. They try and take down the channel. This is not a joke.
@@MephProduction Oh go away. It’s a silly show on UA-cam.
@@SimonMillerYT Aw man, that really sucks. But thank you for your continued excellent work good sir.
@@SimonMillerYT it's my birthday i'm allowed to be grumpy 😗
Undertaker vs triple h needs the golden up it’s one of the only good things on this wrestlemania sadly
What a fantastic comeback of retro ups and downs. The opening of Simon sitting and chatting normally with a fireplace in background and giving out laughs here and there was brilliant.
Can we do Starrcade 1999 AKA Bret Hart vs Goldberg for next week's episode?
I appreciate everything you all do..truly
Simon is the best, Simon number one 👏👏
I really want Simon at Wembley for a match but I also want him to do a live ups and downs on the press conference. Aew needs to book Simon.
I'd really like to see a retro ups and downs for Wrestlemania 2000
How do I get Simon's shirt in Canada?
Would like to hear more about Simon's thoughts about Guest Stars in Wrestling. The comment about where the Bar is now intrigued me some. This was my second ever wrestlemania and I freaking loved it
Simon, please do Retro ups&downs of Summerslam 1988. The first Summerslam.
I love retro reviews
Bro…. Fireside and the robe!!! 😂 amazing!!!!!
can you do the Raw after Mania 30 when you have the time? solid show and loads to talk about
I nearly spit up my coffee hearing "Peeple's strudel." My god I haven't heard that in so long.
next time the first summer slam or summer slam 03
I was there. Looking back it wasn’t the best Mania, but in person it was great.
I'm sorry but I lost it watching Simon melt down from Cole v. Lawler 😂😂😂😂😂 literal tears!!!
This was the first Wrestlemania I ever attended. It was also bad in person. Glad I drove 15 hours from New York to Georgia for that.
Have had this downloaded on my phone waiting to watch when able since it dropped. What a day to pick
RIP PeeWee.
Thanks for this video
I like The Rock's backstage bits. They're hilarious and completely anti PC and because of the constant crying and people complaining about being offended, even if it's bad or tasteless I appreciate not caring about your feelings.
I will continue beating the drum for Summerslam 1996. Boiler room brawl review and HBK being a proper a hole in the main event with Vader!
Can you please do Summerslam 2000?
Thank For the Recap Video 💐🌟🥇🏆

Great video!😊
best triple vs the undertaker
i was at this mania first wwe live show .. and i was 11 years old, so it always holds a special place for me but looking back on it thru the years yea it was kinda mid 🤣
“The Stone Of Tomb” good one.
My first wrestlelamia ❤
There are at least 5 more ups and 3 less downs then I expected
Once again hunter proving why he in the Goat Convo as rember it's everything from wrestling to gimmick theme music attitude
Are there still polls to vote on the next one?
I'm currently binge watching Jersey Shore. Love me some Snooki.
Heck yeah! Love retro ups and down
It's impossible not to like Simon. Impossible!
10:26 Amazing how often "Mania" "terrible" and "Snoop Dogg" go together...
I love how John Morrison was in the ring by the time the count was 1 lmao
Back then I wasn't really watching the product. My cousin invited me to watch WM so I did. That Cole vs Lawler match was a mess.
I never understood why fans never gave Rey versus Cody its proper respect. It was pretty good, well-paced, and continued on the story in a natural way. Plus it had a finish that was not expected, but made a lot of sense
Seeing this on retro ups and downs makes me feel old...
Undertaker had an amazing 4 year wrestlemania run his two with Shawn and his two with hhh don’t get talked about enough straight classics
Bring back Ring of Honor
We need survivor series 2003! Please retro up those downs!
That was from FF7 (GUNARM)
Nookie was like, 12 years before Snookie
In response to 8:12, I’m guessing Simon never watched Rey’s match at Wrestlemania 35 lol
Summerslam 1995
Please review TNA Victory Road 2009, the worst women’s match ever.
You are a brave man Simon, saying Mysterio could be the best wrestler of all time. The Kenny Omega loving IWC smarks will be pissing there pants and raging on Twitter about a comment like.
You should retro those ups and downs from great balls of fire
Simon would make a great host for Busted Open
My very first Wrestlemania I watched on television
del rio had brodus clay bc he was brodus pro for nxt that season lol
Does Adam do any videos to whatculture? I remember him from years back watching this channel. He just disappeared at some point or I just missed something.
