- A hearing was held on Tuesday for the doomsday cult "prophet" Chad Daybell at the Fremont County Courthouse in Idaho. The judge presiding over the case, Judge Steven Boyce, ordered the trial be held in Ada County to ensure a fair, unbiased jury can be selected. Prosecutors presented arguments about transporting a jury from Ada County to be sequestered in Fremont County. Daybell is charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The trial is scheduled for January 2023.

I agree. How do you claim not guilty when two dead, dismembered and one burned child were found buried on your property with a text message telling Lori a fire was going. To refer to JJ as a raccoon while burning that precious child's body is sickening. But notice how Lori kept her hands clean by having everybody else do her dirty work for her. She manipulated her brother so badly I don't know that he knew which end was up anymore.
And I actually believe Lori convinced him to kill himself. Four people of Lori's family dead and all by her orders. If this doesn't deserve capital punishment I don't know what does
Interesting question then. Should the "television rights" actually be sold? Any tv or streaming service that makes money from ads or subscriptions, is using the trial to make their billionaire owners even richer - people who pay NO taxes, who run corporations who pay NO taxes (yes, I know that Republicans believe that the super rich shouldn't have to pay taxes, only people who earn less than 100k a year should have to pay taxes, but let's put that aside for the moment).
So why not try to recoup some of the ridiculous costs which are all shouldered by the not rich.
It is good that they'll be put on trial together. That'll help save quite a bunch.

It's going to be very difficult to get an unbiased jury in any county in the US. This case has been highly publicized due to the children being 'missing' for so long. These people deserve capital punishment.
Surprisingly alot of people have not heard of this case when this first happened I vaguely remember seeing on the news two kids missing mom went to Hawaii once so I know it can't be that difficult.

You need to read up on gaslighting - the defence is not doing that. The defence is doing their job.
You want kangaroo courts and guilty until proven innocent and lynch mobs. That is a great way to make sure not only more guilty people - especially charismatic ones - escape justice, worse, you are basically guaranteeing many more innocent people are found guilty.

John Pryor needs to take lessons from Amber Herds attorney. It is actually possible to be a good attorney and cross examine a witness without attacking and demeaning them. Mr. Pryor is one of the most passive aggressive people I have seen in a long time. Too bad he is so full of anger towards the world that it comes out in his work. He is an embarrassment to the profession!
Totally agree. I hired an attorney about 6 weeks ago to assist me and my husband in a real estate closing. He reminded me so much of Mr. Pryor thatit was eerie.

No, it’s up to the court’s discretion. For example, the juries in the Jodi Arias and Scott Peterson cases were not sequestered because of costs.

Prior ... your argument is pointless ... the same scenarios can happen in Ada County. 16 to 18 people can be accomodated easier than moving this ENTIRE TRIAL 300 miles away.
If those 16 to 18 people are SO inconvenienced ... they can claim hardship and not serve on the jury. They will be made WELL aware what the responsibilities will be. I believe those willing to serve in fairness of justice can be accomplished.
