Quarantine Over for Alicia the Goat!

- You may remember the story of the abandoned goat who came to us at the end of June after being found by a woman near her house.
Alicia the goat had a terrible maggot infested wound on her leg which her rescuers (Alicia, Aurora and Toni) healed for her. After finding out she was registered to a farm over 5 hours away who disregarded any knowledge of her, her wonderful rescuers found her forever home: Jacobs Ridge Animal Sanctuary.
We treated Alicia the goat with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories but her rescuers already did most of the hard work on healing her wound. It is now fully healed and she is walking almost normally on it once again after being crippled due to bacterial arthritis.
Whilst in quarantine we could focus on building up her strength with pelleted food, hay, oats, fruit and various tree clippings as she was very malnourished. We tried to introduce her to her surroundings by walking her on a lead but she wanted to run back to her stable so it took her a little while to feel comfortable.
When she dragged us up on the lead to the top of the sanctuary to visit the goats, we knew she was ready.
Her official quarantine period was over and so it was time to let her loose and see what she did…
Stick around to the end to see her making some new friends 🥰

Aww GRACE! What a nice horse…… came to greet Alicia! Shes a BEAUTIFUL GOAT!! And here comes a friendly Pig! What a wonderful Sanctuary you have!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Stepping into a new world takes courage, and Alicia has it. I'm very proud of her, and enjoy her soundtrack.
Love the way you interact with your animals. You can tell they really trust and love you. Your an amazing man. 👏
Finally. Someone who understands and can demonstrate the meaning of the word "dominion". Thank you so much ❤️
Alicia looks like she can't believe her luck. It must be a wonderful thing for her to be healed, safe and taken excellent care of. Omg, she's a bossyboots, though, isn't she?🤣Thanks, guys. You are simply superheroes.
Like Barry, Alicia is bigger than other goats, and immediately started beating them up - rude surprise for the little ones 🥴 she cut Barry down to size too at 4:15 🤣
Grace is absolutely gorgeous 💓💞💖Love the little goat 😘☺️
Thanks!
She is so brave and maybe a bit afraid. The other animals will show her how to mellow and enjoy her new life! Thank you Jacob's Ridge!
Julian, you and Rachel have truly found paradise and share it with the most precious "critters". They are all so precious.
A beautiful girl.
Lovely video. She seems happier already. Her walking has improved so much. Her horns look so elegant. She is fortunate to be rescued by you!
Какие изящные передние ножки- просто балерина! Сведёт с ума любого козлика!
Целую Алисию из России!

What a beautiful grrl!!
I like how a pig can show up anywhere. 😁
More truth than you know!
@@marissas7282 Do you live on a farm?
It's nice to "meet' Alicia! You have so much space for your animals; it looks like pet heaven it's so great. The freedom and acerage they have is so beautifu to see. I watched one of your videos yesterday where several horses were running in a LOT of free space. Love watching Jacobs Ridge videos.
How could someone be so cold hearted to abandon her like that, 😡 thank goodness for you guys thank you! 😃
Have a happy life darling
Alicia's beautiful!
AWWWE!!!💔 SWEET GIRL ALICIA!!!💝... SHE'S THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL FOR A NEW LIFE WITHOUT FEAR!!!...BUT LIKE HUMANS, SHE'LL NEED A LITTLE TIME TO ACCLIMATE TO HER NEW ENVIRONMENT... HER NEW WORLD!!!...SHES MOST DEFINITELY A BRAVE LADY!!!💜🐏🐏💝💖😃👍🔥🙏👑➕📖🔥🇺🇸... THANKS GUYS!!!... AWWWSOME RESCUE!!!🇳🇿 🇺🇸👍
This is one of the loveliest things I have seen lately. Alicia is like the new girl, quite sweet, the way she came half out for a bit, checked with you and went back into her pen. Then bravely came back out again, soon feeding on the leaves of bushes - I'd say that is a success. Great job you are all doing, you seem to have a very special bond with your wards. X:)
Just getting to watch these beautiful animals react to each other is such an honor.Thankyou💕
Inspector Alicia. Good to see her getting aquainted.
So wonderful to have a safe, loving world to live in now 🥰
Fantastic to see this it brings tears to my eyes she is so lucky Thank-you ❤
Perfect 👍💚
Love Alicia casually strolling about, like “let me check this place out..”. While having snacks along the way. 😂💕💕
Alicia is home and happy, lots of new friends for her. Phillip is a mummy's boy, always was and always will be. Love this little man. 💕 💕
I’ve sketched Alicia😂🤗 So CUTE! A new addition to my childrens book!😂😂😂♥️
Oooo. She wants to be top goat. Poor Philip.
Aaawww Alicia looked a bit perplexed! She's like "Really? I can come out?!" Bless her. Well done guys! Poor Phillip though...and the head butts seem quite brutal but that's how goats do it. I hope Alicia eventually settles in with the herd & they with her. 🥰🙏❤🐏
Very gentle compared to pigs sorting out hierarchy! She settled in very quickly and everyone is getting along fine 😊
@@jacobsridge Awesome, that's great to hear! Looking forward to seeing updates on them all soon. I hope Phillip got over the initial shock of his first meeting with her! 🥰
All hail Queen Alicia!
A bloodless coup!
Brilliant.... She's got sass
Happy long healthy life little sweet princess. Its beautiful how Grace was there for her. Awww Grace moved and she then ventured out. It didn't take long to take her place. Lol Poor Philip, awk he was scared of her, rightly so with those horns.❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful!
Just lovely
Poor Alicia suffered so much. I'm so glad she's better now and living a new life with you.
Wow! She marched in there and told them what was up! 😯 Alpha female right there. ❤️
Aww bless her she is overwhelmed! ❤
God bless her, and all of you.
Animals are awesome...bless you.
Grace by name, grace by nature - comes over to supervise and reassure….
After all she's been through Alicia was very brave to come out, wander around and then take charge of the other goats right away. She looks happy and healthy!
Love that Grace the horse came by to say hello.
Having to video under Grace's tummy....sweet framework. ♥️🤗 Alicia's a little unsure then she's off to explore!
She’s so feisty. I love her! Poor Phillip though 😅 I hope she’s being nicer to Barry now!
😂 she reminded me of a little girl going off to school for the first time, looking at Julian for reinsurance, she looks so healthy and gorgeous, great video thanks 💖😁
What a fullfilling place to live and work
Alice is the queen now of the herd
Well, she came out of quarantine with an attitude, didn't she😆😊🤣
She is very beautiful. ❤
She certainly is making a name for herself. I can't wait for the next Goat HR meeting when Ronnie and Steve put in their vacation requests.
Alicia was a bit apprehensive at first but looks happy to be free to roam and make friends. 🤗💞
😂😂 a feisty bossy one aye.. she's so beautiful. Good girl Alicia ❤️
Adorable
All the best to Alicia, looks like she’ll fit in just fine. On another note, pigs sure know how to take it easy in life. LOL
She’s stunned!
So wonderful to share this moment - thank you 💕
Alicia 🐐is a little sassy one! ❤
At one point she looked at the camera as if to say “do you want some of this?” 😂😂😂
Commenting for the youtube algorithms. Thank you. 💚💚💚💚.
She’s the boss with that Goat-T! Hey, everyone watch out for her horns. She’s exploring and thinking to herself, “I’m a lucky dog!” Wjere’s Timo?
Poor Phillip's face, so traumatised.
Beautiful design she has
What a beautiful thing to watch thankyou for sharing . Something tells me the sanctuary will never be the same again , new queen has arrived . Donkeys will definitely be plotting now 😆
Alicia means business!! I like the last look she gave, "Anybody else have something to say?" Gotta love goats!
Thank you for your gentle commentary Raechel. I love seeing/learning something about animals l never knew. I hope after giving sweet Filip a clonk, she gives him a kiss later. Was that 'high rise' Ruby playing safe up there? 💌
Thank you for taking care of all the beautiful animals. Always a great video! Much love from Kentucky 😎☮️
What a beauty! ❤her markings
Welcome to a great life Alicia. Rachel and Julian will love on you all your life. ❤️
I think Phillip may be a mummy's boy but it is good to see Alicia with the other goats and somewhere safe:)
She looks so at home and happy 😊
"I'm harmless & grateful, really." (Translation: Guard your behinds, ninnies!)
And, Grace earns her name. 👍🙂
I really REALLY enjoyed this video. I enjoyed watching Alicia explore her new home. I imagine the other goats will merely have to move away when Alicia wants to stand where they’re standing. Goat etiquette.
She's very brave, imo.
Looks like HR has a new Director.
Poor little goat she will be happy now
Love Alicia’ s horns, how fashionable! How’s her leg doing? Hope all is well! She’s had a great explore and showing the other goats how it’s done. ♥️
Welcome to the wild world of Jacob's Ridge. You are so lucky to explore your new life and home. 💕
So Alicia is now the new Head of "PR" Beautiful video.
That's so awesome. She's definitely the boss and she's got some really cool markings on her belly.
❤
Aaawww enjoy your new life baby girl you are safe now xxx
Welcome sweet girl ❤️🤟
It certainly didn't take Ms. Alicia long to let everyone know where she stands... she is a hoot and a half! And poor Phillip.... guess he got knocked down a peg or two. I hope she knows just how lucky she is to have the entire staff at Jacob's Ridge looking out for her.
Alicia looks like she's going to fit in quite nicely but not sure what Philip thinks about that lol. So glad she was rescued and is now living with you guys where she is loved and is being very well looked after. ❤
Alicia thought that she would help out and do a little weeding for her favorite humans.
Grace is so beautiful…those eyes! didn’t take too long to get comfortable and went off exploring. It didn’t take Alicia long to go off exploring on her own, I hope she learns to fit in with everyone. She’s a big girl! I’m glad our goats have their horns removed over here..I would have been a nervous wreck otherwise. For those who don’t know, they are given anesthesia so they don’t feel a thing. Just in case it hurts a little when they come to, they are given a shot for pain.
I was thinking that even if the goats' horns were rounded off and smoothed down just at the tip - it could save an animal or a person accidentally losing an eye
They aren’t usually too sharp. Philip’s are probably the sharpest but as they grow bigger they will become thicker at the ends and less sharp. We’ve never had any serious injuries caused by goat horns. In fact the worse problem we’ve encountered is them getting stuck in fences when they are small enough to fit one way but can’t pull back out again.
I’m sorry Sandy but can’t agree as dehorning/disbudding is incredibly painful and carries a multitude of risk factors (similar to cat declawing).
@@jacobsridge Thanks for that interesting reply - it's hard to see how sharp their horns are on a small screen - love your channel and all the kind work you do for these beautiful creatures 😍😍🐴🐴best wishes
@@jacobsridge I’m sorry..I didn’t mean to say something that upset you. I learned something new that I hadn’t realized.
😍
Oliver cracked me up! Nope indeed! And Barry! Geez Barry, way to get pushed around! Django still rules everybody's roost.
She seems confident and inquisitive
Loved the “Nope!”
Looks like Alicia needs her own space.
Goats are herd animals and she is already much happier being with the herd. She was just making her position in the herd known which happens in any species of herd animal when a new individual is introduced.
So glad the poor dear got a chance at a great life. Poor Ronnie though, he looked so hurt she did not want to say hi. Love them all of course but those donkeys make me laugh.
🥰🥰🥰💕👍👍👍👍👍
So cute!
Chardonay is beautiful lol..
