Hi Steph! Thank you so much for watching, and yes looking back at some of these fails really made me realise I've come a far way even though it sometimes doens't feel like it haha! Yes I use a microphone that I put on top of my camera, it's from Rode. They have a few different ones, this one is the one I'm using www.amazon.co.uk/R%C3%98DE-VideoMic-GO-Camera-Microphone/dp/B00GQDORA4/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=rode+microphone&qid=1572946114&sr=8-3 It works really well and isn't too pricey. I bought one of those windscreen too, also called a deadcat, becasue shooting outdoors all that wind got really noisy :) Hope this helps! Kika x

I have to disagree with you on some of those examples you gave. Just to pic one, the photo with the paper rain cloud it was beautifully lit, not too dark and not to light. But i get what you are saying from an Instagram point of view. Sometimes, i think it is so sad, how instagram is directing us, to a specific kind of compositions, aspect ratios, lighting and so on.
Hi! Thank you so much for your thoughtful commment. Yes that paper rain cloud is actually an idea that I think had potentia,l but I I didn't have the right camera for it at the time and not enough space in our flat back then. It's true that Instagram can affect what creative decisions we make, but I guess it's about finding a good balance so you're not compromising your own vision for the platform. For me it's been very interesting to see what type of photos resonate with people and I always try to make sure I stay true to my own artistic goald but also doing content that will speak to people :) Everyone has their own way I guess and what is most important in the end is to just keep developing your own stuff I guess :) Kika
@@Kutovakika You are right, it has to be a balance between what the viewers like and what you love. But don't forget to make projects just for yourself, it is very important for ones mental health :)
You have your own unique style. But ideal photos are not very interesting. I like photos with the atmosphere, a bit sloppy, sometimes a little blurry, with a riddle, maybe with a bad light, with a light bulb, a cup of tea and a cozy sweater. Little moody.
Kika, but those "photo fails" you showed us are one-of-a-kind masterpieces to me.
But most of those "fails" were really beautiful!!
I love your channel! I'd love to see a video of you recreating these photos, having learnt from the mistakes, I think it would be really interesting.
