In a time where bands are trying to outdo one another with “heaviness”, it feels like they all lack actual emotion. Not Orphan. Rage, profound sadness, feelings of loss and self harm, no one does it better than the Mathes brothers. They just make you feel.

the emotion makes them the absolute heaviest imo. they don't have the "hardest" riffs, or the most "brootal" breakdowns. what they do have is a level of intense emotion i've never heard from a beatdown/hardcore band. the vocals drive the emotional tour bus straight into the wall on ever song. i love angry vocals (mercy blow, bodybag, kublai khan*), and orphan scratches that tiny little itch of anger in the back of my mind better than any music ever has.

When Strangled disbanded, I was devastated. I thought I've finally found music that was filled with rage and emotion that understood me. And then you guys formed Orphan, and I feel like I relate even more to this music than i did when I first heard Strangled. I'm so glad you guys kept going. You have a gift. I have been so fucking hyped for this album. Feels like my birthday
fuckin hell i come back to this album daily still. multiple times a day. i don't think a better full album has been released in this genre of music. it's almost punk rock at its core, from an instrumental perspective it all seems so simple and easily pieced together. yet there isn't a single note or scream that feels like it doesn't belong. first time i've ever heard a band this angry use vocals as an instrument instead of just a way to show off how br00tal they can be.
used to go see xthick as bloodx, the red baron, xbishopx, xtyrantx, xrepresentx (lol lotta x's), all the old FLxHCx bands back before 2010 and never in my wildest dreams did i think i'd hear something like orphan. i'm so happy i did.
I feel you man. I'm constantly coming back to this album. At least once a day for a few songs, normally I just let this whole vid play while I work. There's nothing like this, sure you can get chugs and shit anywhere else, but the lyrics and vocals is what makes it special.
Ive been listening to heavy music for like 20 years in terms of sound emotion energy this is one of the heaviest albums ive heard in a while its so good
It's so damn heavy tho but i think you might missing something heavier than this. Just look up every Downtempo Deathcore/Beatdown Hardcore bands like Waste, Bodysnatcher, Bound in Fear, Filth, Black Tongue and etc. Overall it's a very good album tho definitely added to my hardest AOTY contenders!

After 25 years of marriage my wife told me she doesn't love me and wants a divorce. I am still struggling with combat PTSD from multiple tours in Afghanistan. I am in law enforcement now and even this job gives me PTSD. Ive dug myself a gaping hole of darkness and despair. But it's music that is always the ladder that extends its helping hand to get us out. I put this album on and go for long bike rides. I have found myself on the side of the road crying, screaming in rage. I will probably never meet you guys in real life, but I love you. Seriously. I can feel the devotion you put into your music knowing there are people out there like me that need it.

I really do like the band And I really like how they bring more of an emotional ads along with the rage and I prefer orphan over the other guys will strangled band and I really do like this album but for me it’s missing something it’s not quite right yet strangled The brothers are probably my favourite vocalists That I have found in quite a Long time is this something missing about the way the songs are structured and written I just don’t quite grip the way to old band did but hopefully going forward will find her room room they will find their groove and I’m really hoping for that because strangled really connected to Emotionally
