Whoever said non-Natives should stay away from Pow Wow does not understand that Natives welcome outsiders to visit the Pow Wows and maybe learn something of the proud spirit of these people, and come away more respectful and more enlightened. I first went to a Pow Wow on invitation by a Nipmuc Indian who was a co-worker and a friend (RIP). I felt the spirit of these people through their music and dance, and I felt a primal connection that transcends race.

I have a pretty large collection of native american cds in my collection besides my metal, rock, and classical cd collection. Something about their music makes me want to stand up and dance as well but I barely know how to dance. Maybe I should go out to clubs and see if I find a chick who can teach me. Thanks for the music true Americans! ✌

The rabbit dance was founded by two native hunters when they were searching for deer for their tribe before the winter. They couldn’t find none, but they also couldn’t go back empty handed. They kept searching for deer until they started to hear a thump. The found the source and it was a big rabbit. The big rabbit was dancing when a bunch of normal sized rabbits started coming out. Then he jumps up and disappears. They go back and tell the elders so the elders make it a tradition to honor the rabbit for giving”
Now, we all know they didn’t find deer before they even went back but there was still an Animal that was still edible, the rabbits. Now, they didn’t tell the killings of the rabbits because these stories were told to the younger generations. But the dance came about because if it wasn’t for that rabbit, they probably would’ve went back empty handed and would’ve starved so now, they honor the rabbits sacrifice because without it, they wouldn’t be alive.
With that said. Natives, even though they were “savages” in a way, were still grateful, and respectful when killing an animal to eat.

Dominicans, Puerto Rican are Tainos they have native Americans descent as well through South America like Colombia, and Ecuador, Central America Mexico they lost their identity because Christopher Columbus and the Spaniards were wicked and called the “Hispanics” today For example did you hear the music “The Last of the Mohicans”? With the flutes? I have that in my culture and they still play them,it makes me cry because they’re identity is lost and the land is stolen from the heathens and you what’s know so funny ?
