He the literally had Kyle Kuzma pushing him into proper defensive position at one point. Seriously, how can you call someone like that best in NBA??? Now, in 2020 Lebron won FMVP, but without a doubt AD was best player on Lakers. AD was dominant on both ends while LeBron was only dominant on offense. For sake of argument, let's say he was best in 2020. This past season there were at least 5 players who had better regular and post seasons the Lebron! Giannis, Kawhi, KD, Embiid, Jokic, and Luka. In the post season Lebron was 23.3/7.2/8.0 with 1.5 stl shooting .474/.375/.609! Those are his worst postseason numbers since he became the "frozen one" in 2011 finals! He also had career lows in WS, WS/48, and VORP (victory over replacement player). I would get into regular season numbers too but it would be way too long of post. Kawhi was 30.4/7.7/4.4 with 2.1 stl shooting .573/.393/.880 (led playoffs in FG% with players 20+ppg...and he averaged 30+!!!). We all know LAC would have won title had Kawhi not got hurt (made finals at the very least). KD had 34.3/9.3/4.4 with 1.5 stl and 1.6 bk shooting .514/.402/.871! Cmon, those are ridiculous numbers! He also almost single handedly carried Nets to finals over the eventual champion Bucks (literally a nose away from it!). Giannis ha been MVP 2x in a row, DPOY, the last FMVP, and champion! There is a very strong argument who should've won his 3rd straight MVP! He had 30.2/12.8/5.1 with 1.0 stl and 1.1 bk shooting .569/.168/.587! We all know Giannis is not good from 3pt or FT, but the truth is, Lebron is no world beater either. In the finals, Giannis was even more impressive (against a great Suns defense!)! He had 35.2/13.2/5.0 with 1.2 stl and 1.8 bk shooting .618/.200/.659!!! He joined Shaq as only players in NBA history to average over 60%FG and 35+ppg in finals!!! The bottom line is Lebron will be 37 this coming season, his 19th! Why do you think he pushed so hard to get Westbrick? He is just too old and has logged way too many minutes on his body! Honestly, if you take only his postseason minutes, he has played more than a lot of players have in their entire career! I know there is nothing that will change the mind of someone who uses their emotions to make an argument (the same reason people in relationships argue so much...EMOTIONS!!!). I get it, I was a huge Larry Bird fan in the 1980's and he was without question the best and most valuable player in NBA from 1981-1987!!!...and he should've won the MVP in 1982 thru 1987! He finished 2nd in 1982 & 1983, and finished 3rd in 1987. Look up the numbers and the voting (which was VERY CLOSE in all 3 of those years). MJ's team in 1987 was not very good. Magic's team was awesome, but his numbers were not on same level as Bird. Bird won 3 in a row from 1984-86. To this day there are ONLY 3 players to average 28+ppg and 50/40/90. Bird did it 2x in a row and Curry and KD both did it once! AMAZINGLY Bird was .882 FT% away from doing it a 3rd time. When MJ started to really show how great a player he was in 1988, I was still in denial! I didn't want to admit my childhood hero was not the best anymore. In the 2000's I was a huge Tim Duncan fan and IMHO, was the best all-around player from 1999-2007! I didn't want to admit he wasn't the best anymore when Kobe and Lebron learned how to win and hit their primes. I will give you that LeBron was arguably the best player from 2012-2018, but since the 2018 season Lebron has obviously lost a few steps and hasn't played defense since 2016. The truth is that since 2016, Steph (2016), KD (2014), and Kawhi (2019) were better! In 2014 KD was 32.0/7.4/5.5 with 1.3 stl .503/.391/.873, in 2016 Steph was 30.1/5.4/6.7 with 2.1 stl (led NBA) shooting .504/.454/908 (also led NBA in FT%), in 2019 kawhi had 26.6/7.3/3.3 with 1.8 stl shooting .496/.371/.854 in regular season (was arguably best defensive player in NBA!) and in playoffs had 30.5/9.3/4.0 with 1.7 stl shooting .490/.380/.888 winning FMVP and title!!!
There used to be a time when you couldn’t even think abt it cause he was so good in the passing lanes, but as he ages and has the most mileage on his legs in nba history he won’t do it
Trust me, LeBron ain't stopping any real NBA center with a post game (which really doesn't exist anymore). How many times did you see Lebron D up Duncan on the block or in the post???...and Duncan was 37 & 38 when they faced each other in finals. When Lebron was in his prime he could defend bigger 2's, SF's and PF's. He couldn't defend small, fast PG's or big C's (6'11"+ and 260+) with low post game.
@@djones1943 That is a false media narrative. The only thing he can do down low is hack, push, and grab. Pretty much the same thing he does against quicker, small guards. It's physics and science. If someone is 6'9" 250, they are not going to be able to stay in front of a 6'0" 180 speedster with great ball handling skills. Just like he won't be able to deal with a 7ft+ 280+ center with immense strength and great post moves. He just doesn't have the strength and length to defend them. Guys like Shaq & Duncan and Kyrie & Steph made BBQ chicken out of him. He couldn't hold KD either, which is he he refused to guard him in 2017 & 2018 finals. This is why he was 12-26 (2-5 in series) against GS & SA in finals, all in Lebrons physical and mental primes! Just because he doesn't defend as much in the regular season when he's the ONLY scoring option, doesn't mean he can't defend. He was absolutely demoralising other teams, blocks, steals, you name it. He easily could be defensive player of the year if he wanted to, but then for most of his career, that would mean there would be little energy left for scoring.

@@rovy1303 I've witnessed LeBron's career from beginning until now... Before AD joined him in L.A. in 2019-20 LeBron had never had an elite rim protector. In 2019-20 having AD to anchor the defense while LeBron still had plenty of energy and was perfectly healthy allowed him to play tighter to his man than he had ever been able to play without having to worry much about if his man got past him because he knew that AD was often there to clean up his mess if that did happen. LeBron played incredible man defense in 2019-20 and despite his lack of steals and blocks compared to other seasons in his career, it was possibly the best man defense that he ever played. Sure LeBron had played better off-ball defense making more off-ball plays in his earlier days, but I'm not sure that he had ever played man defense quite as good as he did in 2019-20.
@@HTGH89 I watched that season closely. I'm just gonna say to refer to my previous reply to the other guy so I don't repeat myself. I dont want to take away from lbj here, but he shows out like this most on scrubs. There are few times he does actually step up to the better players. Kwahi he did step up. Giannis, giannus is really good but he has the young lbj "good enough to handle the ball but wants to be running to the rim" moves. So yes lbj is smart enough today to play man D, especially today, where players are losing focus on these parts of the game and more focused on shooting 3s, but doesn't put too much effort into this dude of the game.
Lakers in 2020 had a defensive rating of 112.1 when LeBron was not on the floor, 103.1 when he was on the floor. Do you think that massive difference came just from LeBron showing out on scrubs?
A video of him not even trying to defend would be at least double the length of this one. When it matters the most (playoff, 4th quarters, ...) he never defends the best opposite player.

Before Miami and after, he was average to below average, especially the post Miami years.

In 2019, Lebron had a very bad year.
Shut up skip....
That team was damn good, i miss these guys so much
LeBron is easily the most underrated defender in the league
History frr 6x all defensive and ppl think he wasn’t a good defender
LeBron made 2 MVPs look like his kids in harden and Westbrook
I love when lebron bullies guards lol
only player who can guard from PG to C
Bam? 😂😂😂 Giannis sometimes but he’s slow footed against guards and not a good pnr defender but wings and bigs he is good
Russell Westbrook in the 2020 playoffs looking like Steph Curry in 2016 the way LeBron tracked them both down time and time again for those blocks.
Hard to beat him in iso, best bet is when he falls asleep off ball
There used to be a time when you couldn’t even think abt it cause he was so good in the passing lanes, but as he ages and has the most mileage on his legs in nba history he won’t do it
This season and 2021 he had All Defensive caliber years on defense
Hasn't made all defensive since Miami
1:49 that's a center trying to back down LBJ yet TT got moved further way from the basket instead xD
@@anthonyzarate9807 haha
@@anthonyzarate9807 it’s not about stopping them .. it’s about making it tough… and getting a stop when your team needs it… he’s done that
@@djones1943 That is a false media narrative. The truth is he would have been 6-28 (0-7 in finals) if not for Draymond suspension and Ray Allen miracle to save Lebron's legacy!
@@anthonyzarate9807 what is media narrative?? Everything I said you taught that… if you played you know… it’s about making it tough on your opponent and getting a stop when you need it…. And like I said he done it.. I seen him do it… I don’t do that media narrative shit and personal feelings
2020 playoffs: Hou leading 1-0 on the Lakers
Marc Jackson: “They [Lakers] have no answer for slowing down this Hou Rockets offense, James Harden is just too good.”
Lakers win 4 straight
2:18 showing his head buttin soccer skills too lol
Only curry can shake him in iso but in overall he cant beat lebron 👑👑👑
Boy was swtiching from 1-5 crazy
King LeBron James 👑👑👑👑👑👑
Just because he doesn't defend as much in the regular season when he's the ONLY scoring option, doesn't mean he can't defend. He was absolutely demoralising other teams, blocks, steals, you name it. He easily could be defensive player of the year if he wanted to, but then for most of his career, that would mean there would be little energy left for scoring.
Lebron can play and Guard postion 1-5 .. Greatest All Around Player of all time.
yes, to the best of my understanding, that 19/20 season was LeBron's biggest accent on the defense and that championship was the most deserved one.
2:50 lol too funny
Lebron is just bullying the entire league defensively 🤴
imo lebron is the best defender ive ever seen when hes enganged, wont say hes better than jordan or kobe because it wouldnt be fair seeing that lebron is way less consistent as they were but lebrons peak defense is better than anyone ever (on the perimeter)
IF LEBRON PLAYS HARD DEFENSE THERE'S ALOT PLAYERS THAT'S NOT GETTING PASS HIM💯💪🏾
At 35yrs old this was possibly the best man defense that he has played in any season of his career. Elite man defense.
You’re definitely young if you think this was his best man defense if his career
@@rovy1303
I've witnessed LeBron's career from beginning until now...
@@justsayin669watch miami bron then, especially 2013
@@HTGH89
I watched that season closely. I'm just gonna say to refer to my previous reply to the other guy so I don't repeat myself. LeBron played better overall defense in 2012-13 when you factor in help defense, but I would say that 2019-20 LeBron may have been his best man defense season of his career. Did you watch his 2019-20 season closely?

@@leultrainstinct406 Exactly, ans statistically Lebron was better defensively than him smh
@@leultrainstinct406 lol last 2 years he missed it. Kawhi stole his spot last year and injuries stole his spot this year

7:21 Before the ball even hits the POINT GUARD's hands, Lebron has already started running to intercept that pass he is going to make.
damn, he's pretty quick when he wants to be.
Solomon Hill: And I took that personal
LBJ GOAT🐐
@6:44 Why Bron say fuck it "Gorilla Mode" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
LeBron’s a better defender than Kobe. Point blank period
1000% you would also never ask Kobe to guard a 4 or 5.
chase down god.
Greatest chase down blocker in history
57-0 after leading at the end of the 3rd quarter, no way they're losing the chip that season
They also went 16-0 when holding teams under 99, the defense really was their catalyst
8:39 Westbrook is still trying to figure it out what the hell just happened there.
A video of him not even trying to defend would be at least double the length of this one.
When it matters the most (playoff, 4th quarters, ...) he never defends the best opposite player.
are we watching the same video?? lmao u sound stupid genuinely
Back when he wasn’t as tired as he is now 🥺😢

oh...
The fact that he knows how to play defense makes it even worse when he just doesn't bother to try more than half the time. LeFlop doesn't play defense often at all anymore. That is why your video is so short, and the ones with him just standing and spectating are two or three times as long.
Can’t expect the man to shot create for his team and play elite defense at his age every game, that’s just not realistic

LeBron stopped playing Defense around 2013-2014. Don’t know why he stopped playing good Defense. He’s been a liability for a number of years now with his “Resting on Defense” mentality. Too many times we see 4 vs 5 or LeBron just standing there like a statue. Before Miami and after, he was average to below average, especially the post Miami years.
