I agree and I'm no Parra fan I'm Panthers but this crap with Parra has been going on for so long and it rests with the board. I like Brad Arthur and I think he is a bloody good coach who is heavily invested in the team. The board at Parra have been crap for so long, it needs a clean out. Clubs can't keep sacking coaches, and really who have you got now, Barrett. Christ Dogs couldn't wait to get rid on him, bloody ridiculous. I feel really sorry for Brad.

@@blackrose.9927 Panthers have been through this, we spent years either at the bottom or second to it with a revolving door of coaches so trust me I know how it feels. Brad lives right near me, I see him walking with his wife most days. Bloody good bloke, Parra have been smashed with injuries, your halfback and fullback gone, what the hell do they expect. I honestly don't understand why they didn't just let him see the season out then do something, good luck for the rest of the season though mate, really feel for you guys.

As a Parra supporter I’m not sure what to make of this! After 11 years I’m sure he’s as disappointed as we fans are for not winning a Premiership. Although I’m not on Parra’s board I’ve been a Board member (round ball game) and I would think that he would stay to the season’s end unless there’s some player revolt or disharmony going on?? As for Wayne Bennet, well if I’m on the Jury, it’s still out at the moment!! EDIT: I’m hoping the only reason Barrett was not sacked immediately is that they have no one else capable of coaching the team for the rest of the season

Sack the board. They have made a stupid decision to sack the coach if they haven’t got a replacement. Knowing the board they probably have no one. Parra is stuffed. Probably keep Barrett as head coach. Get rid of the lazy players. So upset. Thank god my poor Dad who supported the eels most of his life is not around to see the demise of his football team. He died this year and it breaks my heart to see his beloved eels going down the toilet. Fuming at the club.

11 years to achieve just one thing... but failed to do so.. It had to stop somewhere... got the Eels close many times,.. The team even climbed the premiership mountain a couple of years a go but couldn't plant the victory flag..
Harsh?.. yes,.. but this is professional sport.. He walks away with a 1.5 million golden handshake for 11 years as head coach without winning a comp. You get supported by a club for 11 years and you simply have to find a way to win a Grand Final. at least once!
On the other hand Ricky at Canberra has an almost identical record to Brad over a similar period of not winning a comp and he gets the keys to the city and the saccharin, sycophantic backing of NRL 360 talking heads... That recent episode where they blew smoke up Ricky's tail pipe and declared him Ceasar for life was simply sickening...
So maybe winning a comp within 11 years isn't really the criteria for keeping the head coach position at all..
Canberra realising that not every club will win the comp but canberra are always there abouts as is parra. Not many good coaches to go around. I'd love for the knights to have sticky if he was on the market, canberra smart not to let him go. I think wherever brad goes next he might well win a comp!

To be fair, Brad Arthur arrived at the Eels when they won back-to-back wooden spoons and they had the salary cap scandal going on so it took about 3-4 years to lead the team to play finals.

Rarely did he have established already made stars to work with. He also made a lot of very average players play above themselves at Melbourne and when they left they were not nearly as good under lesser coaches.

The Parramatta Board takes no responsibility for their own actions over the years, as a born and bred Parramatta supporter I’ve watched with frustration as we’ve let very good players go to other teams without a whimper from the board, how many local juniors have been tossed aside and within weeks have turned around and kicked our arses! Why have they not placed an emphasis on bringing on or buying in decent wingers in particular, we lose games because of our lack of decent wingers! One in particular who hasn’t put in a barnstorming performance in years and is a shocking defensive player. There’s no one in the club at the moment to replace them with.
Man Tallis has never been able to bring himself to bury the hatchet with Bennett, has he lol Every comment he makes about him is dripping with contempt.

Thank god, finally. Now, please try to find new coach asap n start the rebuilt the rooster for next season. If no experienced coaches with good records available, then find a young new coach for short term, may be Jason Ryles since Belamy is staying on in Melbourne. Barrett is most likely to bomb as his coaching record is so bad. We'll look forward to how Barrett will fix Eels defensive structure that Arthur could not for years.

@@garfield3443 coaches win games by well put together deep rosters. It’s simple. Teams have injury riddled seasons and then there are seasons the Bunnies are having. Brad was a good coach and yeah the season has panned out like he would’ve hoped at this stage, but let’s get this out… there ain’t too many people out there that are capable of coaching in the NRL so why get rid of the ones that can. Barrett ain’t the solution and if the board thinks that, then they need to go including the GM and all the scouts.

Yeah and in 2022 one week before finals there was pressure from the board and recruitment saying if you don't make the grand final win or lose your out the door yet he proved it with the best team they had at the time
lol look at any serious rugby league discussion forum (more serious than UA-cam) and Arthur cops a fair share of the blame and deservedly so. Even in his good seasons, the team still had inexplicable losses and regularly disappointed in the finals when the pressure was turned up. Eels fans themselves were scathing of his ability to coach defence, especially edge defence and his use of the bench.
