If you knew you were not getting Wayne then why remove Brad until you had a look what else is out there. Maybe nothing better! This is why the Parra Management is a basket case.
Brad had to go. He was out of ideas and his big player roster doesnt work in this modern fast game where speed and endurance is key.

Why? So most of us Parra fans who have been yelling out for a new coach for years can suffer with the inconsistency that has defined BA? Winning to Penrith one week then losing to wooden spooners the next. We already knew this season was done for, BA or no BA. Much better to get rid of him asap so the players can get used to playing without him and look ahead.

Barrett has had two goes and failed but he is not stupid an may have learnt from his mistakes, hope so as he has been very successful as an assistant coach.
He's not there to fix it, he just a caretaker. They've written off the season by putting Barrett there
Results in 2023 and start of 2024 is due to key injuries and suspensions not bad coaching. Who the hell can replace him now? Parra are so dumb now we are screwed!
Parras style of play(Brads) doesnt work anymore. The big boppers are no match for speed and endurance.
Look at the top teams, bris, sharks, penrith, storm. All much more speed than parra.
Theres no chasing contact if they are too fast for you too touch.

So, they made their decision on May 1, and didn't tell B.A. He goes in to a press conference after the Storm game, and says he is confident the board has his back. They praise his tenure, yet are happy with the way they handled things in not telling him he was going to be sacked. This club is cooked.

Its not just Brad Arthur fault i agree with you superholden 74, some of the players are not up to playing 80 minute running out of steam after 20 minutes thats their problem.
Poor management decisions with foolish reasoning. How about a bit of courtesy and dignity for Brad who pulled the club out of a hole. Who is in charge of recruitment, thats probably the real problem. This team wasnt performing very well, but Brad has got them up a few times.

It took 3 weeks of Wayne to say he had unfinished business. Also how the hell do you think that this season is salvageable without Brad. Last season wasnt even his fault, He Brown out for 7 weeks due to his own bullshit, and this season well you got Moses, Gutho and other platers out through out the season, mainly Mitch in a week or 2, should have let him finish the season.
I think they want Brad to go to Souths, so they can get Bennett.
Why is O'Neill not on his horse, it's his recruitment and retention that has led to this. Bennet would have insisted he was dropped so we're stuck with a legless RnR process and hamstring for the next three years.

If bennett was interested why didn't they get him? Sounds like club management was the roadblock there. Also notice that there isn't a single eels logo anywhere on that backdrop. More proof that these guys work for the sponsors, not the club. The Eels are run like an advertising firm first, footy club second.
Penrith tried to get Bennett about 8 years ago. I think its more about location than anything else.

Just remember BA was the second choice coach when he first got the job. 11 years on isn’t bad considering he hasn’t brought Parramatta a premiership.
TBH, as a fan, the Eels needed a change but how it was done and the timing was poor especially with the service BA gave the club! Probably could have held off until the Rd 16 bye where Gutho/Moses would have been back to see any change! Recruitment has a role to play in this as the clubs depth has been poor for a long time and can’t retain juniors. Lomax is a great signing but at his price, I think Parra would have been better served chasing a hooker, prop and some decent wingers instead. No excuses but in 2023, the season ended poor but individual off field/on field incidents hurt and cost the side and they missed the 8 by a game. This year, they fell off a cliff once Moses went down and the swapping in/out of players hurt the continuity of the side making it hard to gain any rhythm as there was no ready available depth. Blaize has been a shining light though! Parra’s boards have been a circus in the past and I thought these guys were to be better but maybe not… not sure these guys listen or know what the fans really want anyway! Disappointing all round! 🤦🏼♂️
Always sad to see someone sacked who has tried their best, but ultimately, was it the players being lazy or unskilled, or Brad's style of "always wanting the collision". It is a collision sport, but can a team go through a long season with that focus?

All these clubs thinking they will win a grand final with Bennett. Dragons had the players but Brownie didn’t know what to do with them, in come Bennett and a grand final in second year, Newcastle get him but they didn’t have the talent..

This all begs the question of what “moral high ground” Wayne Bennett thinks he occupies by insisting he won’t talk to a club unless their coach is sacked? This wrecking ball “morality” unnecessarily got Brad Arthur sacked and now Parra have Buckleys of finding a replacement. All of this could have been avoided if Bennett would hold talks in secret which absolutely nobody but him has a problem with.
Are you stupid? Why would Bennett talk to a Club that still has a head coach in place? He shows respect towards the head coach who occupies the Chair. It is Parra who show disrespect and are obviously a bunch of dunces. Bennett has principles unlike some other coaches.
