Nice video. I am trying to figure out how to usa a NFC Tag to make my phone run an action. I got it to work but everytime I scan the tag the phone ask me which app to read the NFC tag? I can't figure out how to set as the default app to read and run the action. I'm using Tasker as the APP that I want to run the trigger and action. Can you help. What am I doing wrong
Hi Conner, interesting video! I bought 3M NFC tags and I follow your procedure but unfortunately didn’t work with me. I’m using iPhone 7+ IOS 15. Would you please tell me if I’m missing something along the way? By the way I stick the tag to the back of the phone which has plastic cover. Thanks
One more question if I may please. I have smart life app on my IOS. I thought by buying NFC Tools I would be able to use that to activate Smart Life commands (lights on/off etc), as there is no other way to switch a light on with a Tag from what I can see or do.I have no other automation on my phone, and have no idea how Siri can do that, nor what a Synonym is (I know the definition) and what am I supposed to input? It just does not make any sense at all. (Geeks have certainly wrote this program). This is the issue no one seems to be addressing. Thank you again for a great video. For me NFC Tags are just not worth all the hassle. Mine are getting trashed. All the very best.
Bro one doubt 1.Do the newer versions of iPHONE XR,iphone 11 & 12 have automated NFC reading whenever an NfC tag comes close?? 2.And can people turn off NFC or is it always in the ON stage ready for scanning?
You are going so fast. When setting up a light, we loose your screen, then it comes back 00:03:19 and there your software looks different to my software, and I cant input any actions. I don't think NFC Tags are very good at all. In fact they are a total waste of money. But thank you for a great Video. It''s not your fault.

can you use that tag for another phone after you write the url?
Do I need to write something to my nfc tag first before setting it up with HomeKit or can I use them raw out the box?
I'm pretty sure you need to set it up first with the NFC writer app.

Yeah me too. I realized it only works if there is URL data written on the tag. Otherwise you have to run the 3rd party app to scan and that sucks

1. Any iphone higher than the x will have automatic nfc rading.
2. It is always searching for nfc tags.
