A few years ago, I put a screw lock on a splitshot then screwed it onto a 4” Dinger. I’d drop it between lily pads with 20# braid. Kinda like a finesse punching rig. Works awesome! Never thought of casting it tho, I know it flys a mile. I’ll give that a try this season.

Chicken Rig? I do this all the time with my Finesse TRDs..Size 1 EWG with a 1/32 oz nail weight on the other end. Super finesse and gets snagged a lot less than a regular ned. I do it with the Big TRD too.

I was fishing a 2 day tournament at lake Varner in covIngton some 15 or so years ago. A man they called “Big Red” won the tournament by a long shot and busted upper 20’s on both days. It appeared he was simply using a Texas rigged 4” senko, but I always knew there had to be something different about the way he was fishing. I watched him both days and he would make long casts to flats, underwater points, and a hump. So he was catching females staged to spawn and at a faster clip than the competition. I knew there was something more to what he was doing but I never knew exactly what. This is it! I would bet money on it. It makes for a completely different presentation and works well on pressures reservoirs such as Varner. Thank Gene!

Great video. I appreciate all the tips and tricks you share! I believe Kyle Peterson uses this with big TRDs and nail weights that he fully inserts into the worm and then seals it in with a lighter so the weight doesn't get thrown when fighting a fish. I think he primarily targets River small mouth with it, but it obviously works largemouth too. He calls is the Tiny Child Rig because it's so easy a little kid can fish it. Waiting for ice out and bass season to start up here in MN so I can try it out.
