Remember that Lew was not only a superb actor, but also someone who did more for handicapped children than most. He learned sign language just so he could teach Drama and Movement to deaf children ; and that - amongst other things - marched from London to Liverpool (about 250 miles) in army gear - including 50lb backpack - along with John Conteh and 3 paratroopers, to raise money. He didn't just talk about it. He DID it. He was a wonderful man, as well as being handsome, good-looking, attractive, and a genuine tough guy! I wonder if he ever realised just how loved and admired he was? Well, at least his wife and sons now know...
he was far more than just a para , lew passed the SAS selection course but was denied a placing because of his fame ....RIP Lew with the deapest respect and a tear in my eye .. way too soon
Lewis Collins with out question would have made a fantastic 007 he had everything the looks the charisma, and as tough as they come. Gone to early but most certainly not forgotten R.I.P LEWIS COLLINS BORN 27 MAY 1946-DIED 27 NOVEMBER 2013 AGE 67.
I agree he would have been fantastic as james bond he had that swarve cool persona a brilliant all action hero all ways with a smile lewiis collins so sadly missed R. I. P
Underrated actor. Would have made the greatest James Bond ever. He was born for that part. Sadly missed. Thank you for the memories Sir, Rest in peace xxx
Only ever saw him once, in pantomime as Prince Charming. He made his stage entrance by rope from the balcony to the theme from the Professionals. A wonderful tribute to a wonderful actor.
Getting emotional watching this video. I miss him so much. He was arguably a tremendous loss to the film industry. Praying for the eternal repose of his soul.
Simply the best actor ever and human being... i would have loved to have the chance to meet you in person lew but hopefully your up there mate, getting the drinks in and having a laugh with all the other greats up there. Gone but never forgotten or indeed never replaced....R.I.P. Lew.
As has been said so many times, Lewis would have made an incredible Bond. He had the looks, the physique and the acting chops to have been one of the best I think. Connery played Bond in a way that made you believe he could kill you, and I think Lewis would have brought that same energy, if not even more so than Sean. He would also have been physically capable of doing the stunts, giving Bond the realism that it lacked for many years. What a shame we never got to see Lewis being given the chance to shine, as I think he certainly would have. You're missed Lewis.
Lewis was an incredibly handsome man and was an excellent actor. Although he was very good in the tough guy roles, it was a pity he did not do more light-hearted comedies as his timing was very good. Who can forget him in the Professionals, I cant as that is when I fell a little bit in love with him. Always remembered.
My dad was "The Professionals" fanatic, but I was too young on its first run. I managed to watch it years later, on a re-run (I should have been around 14?15? at the time). What a great man - they both, him and Martin Shaw were great in that show. Lewis would have been a great Bond, (I actually couldnt; stand any other except Moore and Craig. Not even Connery) and rejecting him for "being too violent"? what sort of excuse is that - movies outcome depends strictly on what the script and direction is, not the actor! Really! I have read about Lewis and he was indeed a great man, a balanced, steady personality, gorgeous and as we see extremely talented. A rare gem of a man. That scene he's ruffling Martin;s hair? Precious!!! I was very content when I learned that whatever differences there were between them were resolved. May he rest in peace and may all his loved ones and his fans remember him always with affection.
There will never ever be another Lewis Collins, and no one will ever manage to fill his shoes in life, he was 1 in a million .. sadly missed from our world, but will never be forgotten.
Whoever put this together THANK YOU XX 👏 What an absolute heart-throb 💋 and a naturally gifted actor! xx I am from Liverpool and lived for years in Birkenhead, so I am proud to know he had his same roots around Merseyside x He undoubtedly would have been a GREAT James Bond! We were robbed! 💔 God bless and love you Lewis, we miss ya' loads mate xx
This is a beautiful, forever tribute for a beautiful man who will be remembered forever. Thank you for this. Every time I watch it, I feel the community of all of us who love and respect Lewis so much. What a wonderful person.
for me the ultimate Action hero . The producers of 007 had the perfect replacement after Roger Moore retired....But it was decided he was "too rough" to play James Bond !! His reality brought acting to a new era....You the man Lew.....thank you for the memories R.I.P Mr Lewis Collins never forgotten.....no matter what
Just so underrated. As a actor. God knows why he was never given a chance as bond. Had the looks personality charisma and the ability. Just think it was such a injustice. It’s seems he was a decent honest guy reading the comments. Makes it worse. Even something like the equaliser type show. He would have nailed it. Just very sad rip lewis
Oh mate, this is a lovely way to remember our beautiful Lew. There are so many great moments from his career here and you've put them together so well. The music was just the right pace for contemplation.
Hard to believe he was overlooked as 007 because he was to aggressive ?🤷♂️ He would have made the ultimate 007 ! The character was made for him. RIP lewis Collins
Agree with all the comments below, might have been the best bond that never was, also met him at the hotel in Birmingham where they stayed during the charity walk with John Conteh, great guy, grew up on Cuckoo Waltz and the Professionals, and still watched his excellent SAS film, RIP..
Encantador.

I feel so sorry for his kids, he died at the same age as my father. Like my father I think he probably a fun dad to have, a nice man.
My dad was "The Professionals" fanatic, but I was too young on its first run. I managed to watch it years later, on a re-run (I should have been around 14?15? at the time).
