@@gobsofgopherguts I was never sure about it, but I always thought this riff was a thrash-mockery of this part of this known 80s pop tune (this part of it as well as the whole tune was really becoming annoying after many many plays) : ua-cam.com/video/lVrELhxOFnM/v-deo.html (and because of this I always thought that by "plague" in this song, Kreator meant massive spreading of pop music vs rock)
