An absolute classic. This album changed my life. From Slayer came death metal and then brutal death metal and slam metal which are without a doubt the most powerful musical styles ever invented. Slayer were the gods that chaged the music world. Hanneman Rest In Power, Rest In Peace. 🤘🤘🤘
Death Metal really started with bands like Possessed, Sodom, Venom, and Celtic Frost. Slayer was arguably an influence on both Thrash and Death Metal. wikipedia Death_metal
Back when I was in grade 10 this EP was our shit and I once got whiplash from head banging to it. Believe it or not when I went to the hospital for my really bad neck/head problems the doctor told me Slayer causes many severe neck and head injuries. No fuckin lie.
Hahaha soooo true...TOM HIMSELF CANNOT HEADBANG ANYMORE EITHER...HE HAS SHREDDED HIS NECK MUSCLES BONES TO POINT OF NO RETURN!!!!! HAIL TO YOU BROKEN NECKS TRUE BANGERS!!! SLAAAAAAAYER!! I think more blood was spilled at SLAAAAAYER SHOWS MORE THEN ANY OTHER BAND. IVE SEEN CONCUSIONS...STITCHS.....BURNS...and thats NOT INCLUDING ALL THOSE THAT CARVE ON THEMSELVES FOR FUN. SEEN a lady her arm was leather she had cut herself so many times. Alot of haunted temples walking around
Well, Celtic Frost, Venom and Sodom, influenced more the black Metal genre, they were, indeed influence for Death Metal, but the Death Metal primary influences were, Slayer, Possessed, and Kreator, and some south american bands, Sarcofago, Sepultura (first album ftw) Vulcano, Pentagram, and Parabellu, well actually all those bands were influences or both genres, but Slayer on Hell Awaits has a lot of Death Metal riffing and elements, even Tom vocals were harder on this and Hell Awaits.

80s Slayer is the best Slayer. 80s Slayer is the best 80s Metal, period.

Its not an album
Slayer and death metal have meaning, also grind core, slam is pure noise shit from untalented retards who don't know to create music, pure crappie....
"Hauting the Chapel" is my fav-song on that EP... For me, that is timeless Slayer classic...
R.I.P....Jeff \m/ your music will live on for infinity!!!
The best Slayer is the old Slayer!!!

I guess Im pretty randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to stream newly released series online?
@Dakota Jad Flixportal :P
Used to have this playing while going to sleep. It was, literally my nighttime lullaby as a teenager.
The entire Reign in Blood album is audible in the song Haunting the Chapel. The evolution is right there.
Death Metal really started with bands like Possessed, Sodom, Venom, and Celtic Frost. Slayer was arguably an influence on both Thrash and Death Metal. wikipedia Death_metal
I’d also say Bathory was a huge influence on death metal
The soundtrack of my teenage 🤘these songs still kick asses!!!
Starting this EP off with Chemical Warfare was all i needed to turn me on to this band back in the 90s
The old fuckin SLAYER 🤘that is fuckin old school Iove them so much R.I.P. Jeff 🍻🎸
I was late with Slayer, I'll be honest I am younger and I was fucking scared of Slayer and Venom! And literally one year later huge fan, till death
Chemical warfare! Warfare!!!
Back when I was in grade 10 this EP was our shit and I once got whiplash from head banging to it. Believe it or not when I went to the hospital for my really bad neck/head problems the doctor told me Slayer causes many severe neck and head injuries. No fuckin lie.
I've got neck problems from the first time I saw them live. Headbanging is serious shit only for professionals.

All the way up to ‘Seasons in the Abyss’ that all the Slayer a fuckhead would ever need.
Ohhh man the solos in Haunting the Chapel!!! FUCK YEAH!!!
GREAT idea; Jeff! Heineken!
this is the pure impact of agressive hc/punk crust and old school banging!
I remember when this came out. I bought it new. Before they added the bonus track. Fuck I'm old. Hell can still wait a bit little longer. SLAYER!!
