You were the only person amid the pros that truly explained what it meant to Git Gud... And for that, you have my respect. If I was gonna train under someone, it would definitely be under your guidance... But I have stubbornness issues! xD It's good to see you back and ready for whatnot though Verm... Maybe I can pick up something in your exibition battles with your students. I look forward to the future and good fortune.
I really do hope you get more subs because, I would love to see more of your videos. I'll come to youtube with an issue ( don't have one in mind right this moment have been taking a break from smash) and I'll watch 5-6 videos from different people supposedly on the problem I'm struggling with but, most of the smashers content I see is very direct like they're answering a math question that has a definitive answer. I think most of my struggles are mental ones, I've never struggled in strategy games or reading people in sports it seems to come so natural but, with smash especially online, I think I get tilted at myself for doing something stupid or for hitting a wall progression-wise I often times can't or don't see the next move before it comes let alone have any shot of preparing for the situation after that. I don't know I feel like I'm rambling and this is getting too long but, your videos seem to help me see one more piece of the picture each time I watch them/rewatch them so, thank you for that hope everything goes well for you and if I do get out of my funk and get some fire back for the game I'll definitely check out your vod reviews.
Your videos may be "wordy" but your explaining fairly complex concepts. And doing a good job of it. Ya like the core-A gaming of smash Bros And I as well as all the people in the comments appreciate you're effort.
I think you should probably add more direction to your videos; an example being your autopiloting video, you ended up with the conclusion that to not autopilot, you need to go into modes of thinking, but never explain how to get into those modes, nor any steps. I know you made a separate video on the steps but I didn't understand that much either. One of the reasons bananaboy is so popular is that his videos have direct points in them and I want to see where you can go by implementing them
Appreciate the observations, sir. Generally I agree there are a lot of things my videos could benefit from, but in my defense, Bananaboy and I cover fundamentally different topics. My aim is rarely to have a "direct point" so to speak, so much as something to mull over and chew on for a while. Bananaboy and others like him, e.g. Poppt, et al. specialize in little bite-size pieces of info with, indeed, directly usable info that you can use in your next match. My stuff, as you've probably noticed, is usually a good bit more abstract, so there's rarely an easily deliverable morsel of info that crystallizes everything I discuss into immediately practical skills. Generally speaking, theory-centric channels like mine in any fighting game are generally niche. That isn't to say I've no work left to do in my delivery -- far from it! -- but this is a criticism that I've gotten regularly for almost two years, and one I haven't been responsive to not because I dismiss it, but because I've yet to find a way to find an optimal balance between (what I hope is) precision and accessibility.
$15/hr is a STEAL. There's no way you'll be able to keep up with demand with a price that low will you? Regardless, hope it goes well, it's a sick deal and you deserve every bit you earn. If I come back to Ultimate, will 100% hop on this.
Lol, we'll see! I'm either exactly as popular as I think I am, in which case I'll get occasional requests, or I'm more popular than I think and in the ideal case get loads! In any case, appreciate this, Dylan. Thank you, dude!
Great to hear from you, man! I have a question though. Does Ganon have any character specific techniques? I know you can ledge cancel wiz foot and his smashes if they hit a shielded opponent but im wondering if there's anything else im missing. Thanks!
ua-cam.com/video/vs_kccnmuA8/v-deo.html Tokyo drift, a Ganon specific that's just applying a universal tech differently. It's not an absolute game changer but it's pretty useful, lets you punish fade back peach forward air on shield among other things.
@@MegaVirus700 Dad's on point with the tokyo drift tech. Ganon's got quite a bit of character-specific tech, with the main property he benefits from being techroll length. For example, if you flame choke Pikachu at the ledge, USmash will cover every option but neutral tech because his inward techroll is so short. As far as general tech, wizkick and tokyo drift are two main ones. Ledge-hop BAir is another and one I've seen fairly recently is reverse warlock punching so that your back is to the ledge when the punch goes out against neutral getups, because the pushback from the WP is strong enough to push Ganon off the ledge so it's a safe shieldbreak option. Dunno the specifics, but that's the general idea.
Who should I main if I love defensive, punish, heavy hitting, tankie boys, but don't wanna play the lowest tier champ in the game? :( I wish Ganon were viable
Truthfully any skill level could benefit from having things pointed out to them, but I will say that in my opinion, I agree that upper-mid-to-high level players benefit the most from this sort of thing!
