1st is a classic. Tokyo drift is arguably the best racing movie of the saga. But Fast Five is probably my favorite. The cars, the assemble cast, everybody's role fit well. The action. It hit on all levels

Fun fact, this movie made the series incredibly popular here in Brasil, It makes huge numbers over here. And yes, the level of police corruption in rio is portrayed very accuratly
Jen's reaction to the Letty reveal was exactly the same as mine the first time I saw it. Saw it multiple times in the cinema, even yelled out at the people leaving when the credits rolled to hang fire for a few minutes. Got the same gasp from the crowd time & time again. Most people didnt even know that there was a end credit scene tbf. Because this was in 2011 and yes there were MCU movies that already did end credit scenes but again nobody knew that or stayed that long in the movie. Heck I didnt even knew there was an end credit scene until after I saw the first trailer for Fast 6
So the reason Hobbs was against the main villain was because he was corrupt and caused the death of his team. So he tagged along with dom and Brian until he could kill him. Also yeah from now on it’s more focused on everyone while the earlier movies were focused mainly on Brian.
I remember seeing this in the theaters and the reveal of Lety still being alive was an absolute SHOCK to the entire theater. Imagine a theater gasping the same way Jenn did here. It was so cool.
This is my favorite of the series. This is the one that gets outrageous with its action scenes, but combines it with a sense of campiness, warm characters you like, and heart.
19:36 I never understood this line. Tej's dream is to open a garage where he can work on cars all day where regular people won't get ripped off. Tej HAS a garage.. In Miami... It's called "Tej's Garage"!! It's literally where Brian and Roman took their cars to get their trackers checked out. Where they got the older cars modded for the ejector seats. It's where Roman first meets Tej and Sooki right on the water where they're having Jetski races.
Basically the drama between The Rock , Vin and Tyrese and the rest of the cast was that they all agreed that they would never go off and do spinoffs of the Fast series it would be disrespectful to Brians "Paul Walkers" memory and wishes since he was the main character and they all agreed together. However Dwayne "The Rock" wasn't trying to hear any of that went behind their backs and with the movie studio did it anyways with a solo Hobbs film. Hoobs and Shaw, Shaw is a character you'll see later on. So the beef was we let you in our family and you betrayed us.
yah what's funny is it doesn't really count as the next meet up they still hate each other till they meet up again. But yah i wonder if things were different if the rock didn't show up. Like why hire somebody who doesn't even want to be in a team group sessions and tries to do everything by him or her self.
This is the film in the franchise where the movies go from just street racing to assembling a team for a heist and risky manoeuvres but amazing cinematic experience
This was the movie that sent the series to super popularity, and it was around the time that Dwayne Johnson was considered "Franchise Viagra." And I mean, it was correct statement then. Also The Brazilian Cop Lady, Elena, is played by Elsa Pataky, aka, Chris Hemsworth wife, and the mother his three children... also she's almost 50 now, and looks goddamn fantastic, I just had to mention that.
I had the privilege to work on this film as a crew member... they filmed part in Puerto Rico where i live...i worked on the second unit...the stunt unit. it was so much fun....and impresive...
I suppose Fast 5 is where they were testing the waters to see how we would react to some of the more outlandish scenarios. As much fun as the whole safe sequence was, gotta admit they were really pushing the limits of our suspension of disbelief. Physics and logic totally go out the window, among other things (you'll see), starting with 6! 😁
The behind the scenes of the vault dragging is super cool. It’s actually not CGI - they put a truck inside to drive it around with the cars! Also the Brazilian cop is Chris Hemsworth’s wife.
Fun Fact: Paul Walker was a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The feud between Dwayne and Vin started during their fight scene. Neither wanted to look weak. Then later in the franchise Dwayne accused Vin of using Paul's death to get people to watch the movies. They fixed their beef with one another and are now cool. Plus Dwayne and Tyrese had an off screen feud too. That was about Dwayne getting a spinoff and Tyrese didn't think he deserved it.
I think there was also some comments made about Vin Diesel's work ethic compared to Dwayne's despite being the central character with Vin countering that he was also a producer on the films and when he was away or late he was doing production work.
What is crazy about this movie is that the entire bank vault chase scene was done practically. Another little fun fact, the motorcyclist who crashed over the front of Brian's Charger did that stunt practically too, however the stunt person messed up the timing but a fraction of a second and actually suffered serious injury there. As for Hobbs, he's pretty far up the food chain and has the power to justify his actions usually. And as for Alana(?) the female cop, her loyalty is to justice more so than Rio specifically. She recognizes that Raya is an evil corrupt man pulling the strings behind everything. It's honestly better for the city if he is stopped and the corrupt police purged. So she simply switched sides. This one is probably my favorite of the franchise. I love the stunts used in number 9, but number 9 pretty weak on the scale.
29:27 Actually this or even better was the reaction of Michelle Rodriguez (the actress who plays Letty) when she saw Letty's pic in the police files. She had no idea that she was coming back 😂😂😂 and she saw this film in the theaters 😢😂😂
The first and fifth are definitely the best. One of the reasons I love Furious 5 over the first and the others is that it honestly works as a stand alone film. I feel like you can enjoy this movie without the context of the previous 4 and still know who everyone is. The movie actually does a decent job with filling you in on who’s what and what their motivations/personalities are like, even if you go in blind.
Interesting thing is that the dude that died that named his son after Dom. His son has his own Fast and Furious cartoon TV series on Netflix, where his son is the main character and its sometime in the somewhat near future to where his son talks about Dom and his family and friends as some type of legendary heroes.
@@Smido83it startes here and vin was acting like the alpha and Rock couldn't do anything because he was still at the beginning of his career and making his name after the 8th they both wanted to be alpha and rock was popular enough to say no to vin now because ut wouldn't affect his career
Fun fact: the actor who plays the villain is Joaquim de Almeida, one of the few Portuguese actors working in Hollywood (like Daniela Melchior, from The Suicide Squad and GOTG 3)... But he ALWAYS plays latino drug dealers/criminals in American movies. Except in "Behind Enemy Lines", where he plays a French general.
To me, he'll always be "the bad guy from Clear and Present Danger" but ever since I first listened to the How Did This Get Made episode for Fast Five, I can't shake one thing Adam Scott pointed out, and that's that he looks eerily similar to Phil Hartman so it's almost like watching a Phil Hartman spoof of a cartel boss.
I love the first one and I have a soft spot for Tokyo Drift (I also really love F7), but I think this is hands down, without question, BY FAR the best movie in the series. It's just a flat out great action movie. I'd argue it's one of the best action movies of the last 20 years.
As many others have said the first movie is a great classic but yeah Fast Five is probably my favorite, bringing the team together and the storyline is a lot of fun and does a great job launching you into the next part or chapter of the Fast saga. You can tell Paul and Vin just have so much fun being by in these movies and playing these characters.
Even though the next films get ridiculous with the things they do, I like them. Sometimes I just like to switch off the logical part of my brain and enjoy over the top, insane action sequences that defy physics.

Not sure if you are aware but back when Dwayne Johnson was trying to kickstart his movie career in the early 2000s, he starred in two independent and lesser known movies, both which I loved. The Rundown and Walking Tall. If you ever want to see what he was like back in the 2000s maybe give them a one off look. I remember them fondly for really letting Dwayne Johnson show off his talent, and for his comedic timing.
When Jen comments on both being really big guys, vin is actually 5’11 and the rock more like 6’3, any moments with them together use a lot of camera angles and trickery to not show up vin as being towered over
This one has the perfect blend of silliness, action, cars, comedy, cast etc. You could suspend your disbelief to an extent in this one. They went overboard after this
Hey Holden and Jen! Thanks for doing what you do. Fun fact! They actually did most of that safe dragging scene practically! They built the "safe" around a small car/truck with a driver on the inside and drove the safe behind the two towing cars. Such a crazy practical effect!
If you make a Fast and the Furious Venn Diagram Fast 5 would be in the middle section. Relatively grounded in one circle and over the top insanity in the other one. It's my favorite after Tokyo Drift.
I love this franchise. Fast 7 is my favorite just for how emotional it is. It’s a beautiful send off for Paul Walker. Looking forward to you guys getting to it
Fast Five really pivots the tone of the franchise. Everything after this film escalates to top the previous film. Also Elsa Pataky (Brazilian Coo) is Christ Hemsworth’s wife IRL. There are time I wish he’d join the franchise for them to have a scene together.
I really love these movies and I’m so happy to see you both watching them. From now moving forward you really have to let go of the reality of the stunts and story and just go with it. Things are about to get very far fetched but just think of these movies as a good time and don’t overthink it being real. Love you guys
Fast 5,6 &7 is arguably one of the best action heist trilogies ever. This movie right here was one of the biggest turns in a franchise ever. It’s like they really hit the nos. Also you guys should watch the making of and see the chaos they made in Rio.
Yep. It turned the movies from pretty low key cops and robbers movies into full-on heist/international espionage-level movies. The team essentially becomes the Impossible Mission Force from here on out.
@@Rorujin Oh for sure. I mean, there's a reason that from 5 on it went from a fairly successful franchise to one of the biggest box office franchises in movie history.
@@JeffKelly03 See thats what I dont understand. 1 - 3 were niche and most people thought the franchise was over after that. But then suddenly 4 came out (which I completely missed lol) and 5 changed the formula and ALSO looked like it was the perfect ending for the franchise....again. Then 6 came out and it started to get ridicules, I thought it was fine but I saw that it had big flaws and was just an action flick. I only watched 7 because it was Paul Walkers sendoff. That was great about the movie but aside from that i didnt like it at all. But apparently it got even more succesfull after that and I didnt even bother to watch 8 or onwards. Now even 10 is succesfull but a complete dumbsterfire of a movie but somehow people love that about Fast and Furious xD
@@FloundFahrdienstI don't think 10 was that successful. At least not near as successful as past movies especially because it somehow had a ridiculous 350 million or so budget.

Ive been enjoying watching this movie series with u guys. Love your reactions!
There's some good stories down the line with the police lady. No character who enters in this series is random. That's why I love it actually. They have this huge ensemble cast but they do a crazy good job of giving everyone enough relevance to justify their presence.
Haydens sarcasm is everything 😂😂 "oh nooo not that guy" was killing me. Shes all sad to see them die and hes over here like "we'll never forget those guys"
I LOVE that Jen has been acting in a motherly way towards Brian this whole time like a kid who just wont get his act together and life straightened out lmao
The Furious franchise is definitely meant for fun time, I had fun watching you guys clown on it lol. The plot fix for the cops and safe thing was the villain dialogue for me when he explains how to thoroughly corrupt a nation. I used that villain info to justify the corrupt cops and system. Hence why Rock did not mind being a cop killer lol.
The safe is easy. Thats why you make friends, contacts, and, of course, family. You have someone else order it, get it delivered, and then deliver it to you.
Fun fact. Both the Dwayne Johnson and vin diesel have a clause in their movies saying they are not allowed to look weak on screen resulting in two guys having actual beef with each other on set until recently

watching you guys watch and react to the fast series has been really fun. thank you both for this!!
the actress who played brazil cop elenq is actually Chris hemsworth Wife
"The Rock just got papered" LMAO I hate Holden sometimes that got me I had to pause😂😂
"Mission in-freakin-sanity!" that slow, extremely subtle disbelief in your face was exactly how I felt
didn't know we needed some holden ASMR until 0:44
Random bit of trivia: Dom’s new girl is played by Elsa Pataky; AKA Mrs. Thor!
Jen's Reaction to Letty being Alive is Priceless!
19:26 Shopping openly when you are on someone's hit list 😂😂😂
YOU BROUGHT THE BUSTER !!
Literally could not be more excited, love when u guys do my fav movies ever🥹🥹🥹
This is one of my favorites, and it's not just because I'm Brazilian, but I really like the characters in this film and the senseless action scenes.
The cuh jokes will never get old
Fast 5,6 &7 is arguably one of the best action heist trilogies ever.
@@JeffKelly03And I like that. I prefer it to the "street racing" stuff of the first few.
Han is just the best. How can you not love the guy? 😊
Fun fact: Han's alias in this movie is Han Seoul-Oh: as in Han Solo. With a name like that it kinda makes sense that Holden likes him so much when you think about it
This is my all time favorite movie series. As crazy as that sounds lol I know people are sick & tired of them, Its just been apart of my life growing up as kid starting with the first 2, the nostalgia etc. So its always cool to see others get into it. Ive been enjoying watching this movie series with u guys. Love your reactions!
30:37 glad Jenna loved it ❤❤❤. Yes the Rock brought a lot of presence and charisma to the franchise.
the fact that the safe being pulled across the city was done practically still blows my mind
26:47 I love how Dom essentially throws a whole car at someone.
That's one Trick that still hasn't gotten Old yet...👌
The actress Elsa Pataky who plays Elena Neves the Brazilian cop helping Rocky is Chris Hemsworth's wife.
This one is personally my favourite. It's so good
The Furious franchise is definitely meant for fun time, I had fun watching you guys clown on it lol.
The plot fix for the cops and safe thing was the villain dialogue for me when he explains how to thoroughly corrupt a nation. I used that villain info to justify the corrupt cops and system. Hence why Rock did not mind being a cop killer lol.
Letty isn't deady I was so caught off guard by that in a good way.
OMG the hype this one brought gave new life to the series and then the end scene credit yassss set up a fire for the next one.
Han is an underrated character.
The safe is easy. Thats why you make friends, contacts, and, of course, family. You have someone else order it, get it delivered, and then deliver it to you.
LOL Jen's reaction to Letty's photo in the end.
Me sitting over here 😂 every time they call Elsa Pataky police officer girl 💀🤭. That’s Thor’s wife yo!
FUN FACT !!! the lady cop is Chris Hemsworth's ( THOR ) wife !!
I was waiting fo Jen to ask How is Han alive in this film. Love you guys and your reaction videos.
Never underestimate the power of FAMILY 😂😂😂😂
Fun fact. Both the Dwayne Johnson and vin diesel have a clause in their movies saying they are not allowed to look weak on screen resulting in two guys having actual beef with each other on set until recently
💙💙💙😭😭jen 4:59 "im a rule follower" 🤣💙jens golden i love how she is disappointed with mia tainting her record lol
the scene when hobbs team gets takin out was so good cinamtically wise man tht ear noise is absolutly crazy and then vince man sheesh
