  • Bataleon Evil Twin Snowboard Review - Selected for the 2021/22 Whitelines 100 Snowboard Awards
    A fixture in the Bataleon line since 2003 (damn, that’s nearly 20 years!) the Evil Twin has benefitted from several nips and tucks to keep the kids lusting after it. The 3D tech in particular has come a long way - these days it runs the latest Triple Base Tech including Sidekicks at either end (more on that below) - but at heart it’s the same park-focused rebel it always was, just… badder.

    Another great review, would it work as an all Moubtain freestyle board or do I need to go to the Goliath ? Most of my time is on the piste but all of that time is spent trying tricks out plus a bit of carving

      It’s gonna be weird on ice. I have the global warmer, which is similar. Basically when you carve on icey spots you need to be pretty deliberate about edge pressure and if you try to quickly stop heel side it’s very easy to wash-out

      I have the 2023 Evil Twin and i can comment on that.
      It's SHIT.
      Seriously.
      I took it to La Plagne in January and it washed out on ice every single time.

    Hi Guys ... a piece of advice, I already own a Bataleon The jam 159 with a 29cm boot (world), I know I'm on the edge, but I was fine.I would like to opt for a Bataleon Evil twin, I found a 2021 LTD at a good price , does it change or is it the same as the 2022 and 2023 models ??? I would like to take a 157cm board, is it a gamble or could I go back into it? My goal remains to have a little fun, nothing exaggerated, I'm old now :-) and I started recently.Thank you and congratulations for the videos.

    Hello everyone, I just got into snowboard and got really hyped so I want to buy my own gear. I stumbled upon this beautiful board and I thought I would totally go with it. But I want to ask first if it's the right board for a total newb or I should really consider something else. Thanks in advance!

    • @cyper2c826
      @cyper2c826 2 роки тому +1

      I can't answer your question because I don't have any experience with this board, but I have heard that it is an advanced board. I will buy this board in the next few weeks, but I have also been snowboarding for the last 7 years.
      Let me give you a tip: Buy a used snowboard first or rent one. This snowboard costs 500€ and you don't need that for the beginning. I also started with a used one and so did many others. The best equipment is useless if you can't ride. The board does not make you a pro, so start with a cheaper one and see if snowboarding is something for you😉

      @@cyper2c826 oh ok thanks. I was just considering buying a new board because I am from Greece and we don't have it easy finding a used board here since we don't have a market like the US or the other bigger countries out there. I would also like to spend less than 500 on my first board so I will if I can find a discounted old model. Thank you for your reply!

      I work in a snow retail shop and have been riding Bataleon for the past 7 years and absolutely love the boards. Yes this is a more advanced board in the range but the 3bt (lifted contact points) make the board an easier to learn on board than most traditional cambered boards.

    • @tsiakkiros
      @tsiakkiros Рік тому +2

      Don't buy ANY board as a beginner my Greek friend.
      Spend your money on lessons, learn the basics well, progress to an initial intermediate level, and then just buy an intermediate/advanced board.
      Nevertheless, i own this board, it's fantastic on regular snow, and it's a disaster on ice.

      I'd like to know that, too. Im really interested in 3BT profile, but the Evil Twin sound like too much effort to press and Walle or the Disaster like a noodle with close to none stability on medium jumps. Is there something in between?

    Awesome review! Wondering, how would you rate the rome artifact vs bataleon evil twin? And why is there no more any global warmer in bataleons line this year? loved that boad, Cheers :-)

    • @WhitelinesSnowboarding
      @WhitelinesSnowboarding  2 роки тому +8

      There are a few key differences.
      Profile - The Evil Twin has Bataleon's Triple Base Tech whereas the Artifact has a pure positive camber profile. Both are loaded with pop, but the E.T will have a little more forgiveness around the contact points.
      Base - The ET is sintered (therefore faster), but costs a little more compared to the extruded base on the Artifact.
      Flex - The ET has a slightly stiffer flex of 5/10 compared to the Artifacts flex rating of 4/10.
      What does is all add up mean!? The artifact is an incredible rail board and locks into presses super easily, but still has enough pop to take it through the jump line.
      The Evil Twin is probably a more rounded all-mountain freestyle board. It'll throw down on the jump and rail lines with the best of them, but it has a little added versatility to charge the rest of the resort, lay down a mean carve, and even float surprisingly well in the powder.
      Hope that helps...
      Happy shredding!

      @@fabiangrimm509 Triple Base Tech lifts the contact points up making it super jibby and catch free.
