The point of this episode is that heroism should be acknowledged and paid respect to, regardless of the person's capability or success rate. Maybe Mumen Rider is just a guy on a bicycle, but he goes out of his way every single day to help his community. That's a hero.
And people say OPM isn’t deep. It’s constantly poking fun at everyone and everything and also has underlying teachings. I get that it’s not that deep. But it’s still deep
What the crowd completely ignored (aside from the fact they clearly saw the heroes and deep sea king destroy concrete with their bare hands, making the whole "they were actually weak" argument null and void) is that the heroes who fought and fell bought time to save all of their lives, and the lives of each other. If Stinger, Puri Puri Prisoner, Snek, or the other low class heroes hadn't fought, the deep sea king would have reached the shelter much sooner and killed all the civilians with no resistance, and Mumen Rider DIRECTLY saves Genos twice by distracting the deep sea king when he went to finish Genos off. A class C hero saved a class S against a monster neither had a chance of beating, and that is what heroism is, even if you know you can't win you are willing to oppose insurmountable odds just to protect others, even if only to buy them time to escape or for someone stronger to come and defeat the monster in your stead. also just want to give props to the fact that the shockwave from Saitama's punch was strong enough to alter the weather, because it blew the rainclouds away
I think that these scenes are a commentary from the author on how people change mind very fast, and their memory Is so short that forget immediately whats good just to hate others
Did it move the clouds? I thought the shockwave just blasted all the raindrops away, though the Deep Sea King's punch to the back of Saitama's head did the same.
@@AK-pd5li I don't think he was the reason for it raining. He even mentioned that because the surface was dry he was in the form we seen him in most of the time. Then it started raining and we were able to witness his true form.
People underrate how much of a hero Saitama actually is, he has the same amount of heroism as Mumen Rider, except he's just bald and infinitely stronger.
As the saying goes, "You can only be brave when you are scared or afraid", so saitama fights knowing he will win, but Mumen Rider fought knowing he would lose.
fighting knowing you will lose is just dumb I would rather aquaman be the lifeguard then someone brave man that can't swim and is scard of water don't want to see him drown bravery overcoming his fear
The only ones I see who has a kind hearted heart in s class like mumen are bang, metal bat (nice to his sister even though a delinquet) and probably genos (though kinda more of a baddass character)
@@laughingd4518 Oh! hell yeah, metal bat has the heart and will power of Hal's Jordan (Only comparison I could think of the top of my head) when it comes to his sister.
Mumen Rider might be a Class C hero by rank, but he's a Class S+ hero by heart. He's a hero because he just wants to help people, nothing more and nothing less.
Mumen Rider and the others actually bought a huge amount of time for Saitama to get there, which probably spared a bunch of innocent lives. So even if Mumen or even Genos had no chance of winning, they were actually still heroes for putting their lives on the line to stall him.
I just got why Satima is bald. Because one punch man is a parody of anime tropes. And how do you know who's the protagonist in an anime...The one with the coolest hair.
This episode shows 3 different kinds of heroism. Mumen Rider represents the heroism of the average man, he is no different to anyone in the crowd he is trying to save, he is just choosing to fight. Showing how anyone can step up and be a hero. Then you have the White Knight, Genos who is the typical hero. Strong, fights evil, sacrifices himself and sticks to his moral code. Then you have the Black Knight or the "hero we need, not the hero we deserve" in Saitama. Who has a more nuisanced version of morality and so on that includes lying and concepts such as the greater good. Sacrificing his reputation and deeds to lift up the other heroes and make sure society appreciates them, even if they didn't individually win the day. Also straight up Genos would be dead if Mumen Rider didn't distract the Sea King.
The kid who was the first one to cheer Mumen Rider during the fight was the same kid he helped get his balloon that was stuck in a tree in the very first scene that Mumen Rider appeared on the show.
If you guys need another anime to watch, you should check out Mob Psycho. It's by the same creators as One Punch so it has a lot of the same humor and art style.
The only "art style" they have in common is the guy that they called "an internet troll" since that 's the only character ever in the OPM anime that is straight from the web comic from ONE that created both. Everything else is based on the manga adaptation by Murata. The comedy is the same tho.
If Mumen rider didn't buy time in his fight against the sea king for saitama to come through, genos and all the people in the vault would've died. So mumen rider lowkey saved everybody. GOAT status 🚴♂️
When I first watched this show I never would have guessed it would get my teary eyed until this episode. I wish they'd done more with Mumen Rider, he's such a great character in this show.
Mumen Rider vs Deep Sea King is unironically one of my favorite fights in all of anime. This two-part episode is perfect: it establishes over and over that every single hero *only* fights DSK when they're completely certain (incorrectly) that they can win. The only exception is Mumen Rider. He's the *only* hero who goes into the fight with the absolute knowledge that victory is impossible. And in the end, he stalls DSK long enough to save everyone; if he hadn't stepped up, DSK would've murdered Genos, then slaughtered everyone in the shelter before Saitama arrived.
What makes Mumen Rider more impactful is that he really won't win, there isn't some magical deus ex machina like in My Hero where Deku will just win in the end with a random power-up for no reason other than he's the good guy. Realistically Mumen Rider doesn't stand a chance and he knows that, but he still fights because the point is fighting for what's right even when you're going to lose. It's an interesting contrast to Saitama who knows he's going to win every time.
Dont laugh at my boys mumen rider's conviction! 😂 he has the real qualities of a hero, he charge into danger despite only being class C and he doesnt do this hero work admiration like saitama....and yeah saitama doesnt care about the credit its just that he feels its good someone knows what you you did and what effort you put in to. But as he stated after he take down the meteor "i didnt do these hero business for admiration. I do this because i want to" same as mumen rider.....and that is wby saitama and mumen rider is the real true hero here
Y'all need to put some respect on moon man Rider instead of keep laughing at him! He has no power but is the most courageous out of all the heroes. Because he throws himself into battle to protect people not thinking about himself.
I only recently got into One Punch Man so imagine my surprise when I found out that a lot of people actually like Mumen RIder. Usually everyone hates weak characters that don't ever produce any results so I was pretty surprised to see the love for him from different spaces on the internet. Like yeah, he's a good person with the heart of a hero.....but........😐😬
Mumen Rider is the most powerful hero. Any monster that gets hit with his "Justice Crash" attack, such as the Deep Sea King, dies shortly thereafter, presumably from injuries sustained in the Justice Crash.
I have a theory that the Rank 1 of each class represents something of the spirit/ideal of their rank and that that's why they are the Rank 1 of their class. Today, we saw the ultimate Class C hero. Mumen Rider forever.
Mumen Rider (a parody of Kamen Rider) is based on the author of the manga, and his insecurities about the quality of his work. He's my favorite. In this Time Stamp 04:50 This is Why I Hate Citizen in every Super Hero Theme Serial Either live Movie or Animation or Anime, Caused The Adults Are Such Cowards to Cheering on For the Hero Always A Child Who's First One to Shout For Cheering for the hero Even The Hero is Out of The Villain Enemy
Without spoiling anything: Stop dwelling on that thing Bang said
Mumen Rider has the heart of a superhero without having the body of one.
mumen rider cant get a powerup because there's no hair saitama can give him 😂😂😂😂
There are umm... other ways to give DNA
He could give him a strand of hair from his... um, bottom part.
@@patrickwinter428Saitama canonically doesnt have hair there either. We see him nude quite a few times...
And this is why Munen Rider is the best hero.
Fun fact.....Sonic with his weapons would've slaughtered the sea king.
Sonic woulda lost to the buffed version but probably stood a chance to his nerfed version, same goes with Genos if he didnt have to protect the citizens
New Subscriber here 🤭 positive vibes 👍
The fact that you didn't remember his name, Mumen Rider, the greatest hero of all time, is an unforgivable sin. 😠
