He truly was the voice with a tear; I would listen to him many times and weep before the Lord , it was so anointed of God . Thanks for uploading these great gospel hymns.
Jack Holcomb is no doubt the greatest tenor of all time. I first heard him on BBN radio in Nashville TN. No one i have heard could get close the way he personalized each hymn.
Without question one of the greatest tenor voices in this country. We first saw him about 1955 at the Owasso, Michigan camp and have a couple pictures of him. He was considered for the lead singer for a Holiness denomination but that did not work out. RCA offered him a huge contract which he refused so that he could sing and speak for Jesus. But then his final days were sad and tragic. He is said to have sung with pathos - a tear in his voice.
I have this record and although I never had the pleasure to meet him I agree with your assessment in relation to him being one of the greatest tenor voices in this country. My favorite recording on this album happens to be 'The Old Account Was Settled Long Ago'. I'm very appreciative that you shared your thoughts here for me to read. Your words did not fall on deaf ears. Take care, Rolland
What a voice, and such memories! He sings with such heart it makes me long for heaven! I wish I’d found him before my husband went to heaven a few months ago; he would be thrilled!

Thank you BBN and Lord Jesus Christ!
