Plus, they got serious about it eventually, everybody has to go at their own pace ^_^

The Black Panthers incorporated yoga into their Oakland Community School because it helped students focus. And yes, most students would start by being silly and gradually becoming more focused as the yoga poses progressed. So the yoga did what it was supposed to do. Plus, someone mentioned that the instructor also had fun so I don’t think you guys were being disrespectful at all. Yoga is used to help students who can’t focus to focus by continuously trying and feeling accomplished/relaxed afterwards.
"Yoga is about being supportive": I was wondering throughout the video as to how Claudia was being supportive in her comments/tone/actions. I noticed that the teacher was being quietly supportive by providing a consistent and non-judgmental space for everyone, including those that took a little longer to zone in. I don't believe Claudia expressed herself very well in this video as she had a patronising tone and a distracting energy on par with those she was criticising. Difference? They were honest about their vices. Whilst Claudia may not think this or have intended to come across as patronising, what she says and her tone touches on a common problem in these spaces and why yoga is now elitist, white, coopted and less accessible and an unwelcoming space to those that do not fit the stereotype. There's something about quiet and consistent practice that strengthens and supports those around you, wherever they may be in their practice/journey. Saying all this I thought the video was hilarious and the back and forth between Claudia and the siblings (lol) was gold entertainment and what I would have expected from the pero like crew. I can also see how this would encourage more Latinx to consider participating in yoga, so good job everyone 👏🏼

The Black Panthers incorporated yoga into their Oakland Community School because it helped students focus. And yes, most students would start by being silly and gradually becoming more focused as the yoga poses progressed. So the yoga did what it was supposed to do. Plus, someone mentioned that the instructor also had fun so I don’t think you guys were being disrespectful at all. Yoga is used to help students who can’t focus to focus by continuously trying and feeling accomplished/relaxed afterwards.
I laughed out loud at Curly's reaction when she said the yoga instructor told her she was flexible
"Yoga is about being supportive": I was wondering throughout the video as to how Claudia was being supportive in her comments/tone/actions. I noticed that the teacher was being quietly supportive by providing a consistent and non-judgmental space for everyone, including those that took a little longer to zone in. I don't believe Claudia expressed herself very well in this video as she had a patronising tone and a distracting energy on par with those she was criticising. Difference? They were honest about their vices. Whilst Claudia may not think this or have intended to come across as patronising, what she says and her tone touches on a common problem in these spaces and why yoga is now elitist, white, coopted and less accessible and an unwelcoming space to those that do not fit the stereotype. There's something about quiet and consistent practice that strengthens and supports those around you, wherever they may be in their practice/journey.
Saying all this I thought the video was hilarious and the back and forth between Claudia and the siblings (lol) was gold entertainment and what I would have expected from the pero like crew. I can also see how this would encourage more Latinx to consider participating in yoga, so good job everyone 👏🏼
