Remember during the Miners strike a concert at Brunton hall Musselburgh where Dick sang the International Brigades song with the miners standing singing and giving the International Brigade salute , I had worked with Dick before as a sound engineer, but this was a truly memorable gig, so sorry to hear of his illness, Dick your music will stand the testimony of time , and inspire others to fight the good fight against fascism. 👍🏴🏴🏴
Comrades Victor is remembered ............here in 2019 ......and for the generations to come.............Never lose Faith.......Never lose commitment ..........Onward Ever..............X
Dick makes this song international with his lovely Scottish voice, and of cours the themes are international. Such a counterpoint in the UK to Thatcher who protected the Chilean murderer Pinochet and made us all feel ashamed.
The recording was made at the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh, during the festival of August 1984. It was issued as an album in 1985. Remembering today, the other 9/11 - 11th September 1973, when the CIA and General Pinochet brought down the democratically-elected socialist government of Salvador Allende.
Amazing rendition. 1985. The essential version, for me. Shame that Dick's amazing website is down. I know he's been in ill health. Anyone have an update on how he's doing? Thanks.
It was at the end of the miners strike. Castlehill Fallin Polkemit and Francis Fought until the end. As a student at Stirling University proud to have stood with you until the end
I think this isn't from 1975 but rather from Dick's album brought out just after the end of the Miners' strike so it would be 1984 or at the latest 1985
