Yesterday, we celebrated GB's first birthday. I wanted to make a feline-friendly cake, but there aren't many frostings that are appropriate for kitties. So, I made a lean turkey meat cake topped with pumpkin paste. Everyone seemed to enjoy it! For dinner, I pan-seared lean salmon in a touch of olive oil, served with "secret sauce" and a side of chopped spinach. GB wasn't a fan of spinach!
I can't believe my boy is already 1 year old. As a kitten, he was quirky, crazy, wild, a naughty thief who challenged me every day. But I couldn't deny his sweetness, intelligence, and the special old soul I recognized even when he was a teenager. He calms me when I'm stressed with his head nudging and paws on my arms. I'm forever grateful I was able to adopt him. Happy birthday, Gingerbread.
Ingredients for the Tumpkin Cake: Lean ground turkey, coconut flour, egg, cat grass, taurine and probiotics. Bake in 375 for 15 minutes, top with pumpkin paste. I do not post measurements as I'm not a nutritionist.
