Great video, thanks! I’ve recently been loving the Valhalla Supermassive reverb plugin on vocals. It packs a punch and has lots of room for creativity - and it’s free!
@@TheBandGuide I recently started releasing my own music. And since finding your channel my mixes have gotten so much better I think. The drums tutorial were great for someone like me that writes hard rock.
I've been waiting for this tutorial for 11 years. I don't like any of the presets - I just pick one that sucks the least. Thank you! I'll try these tips!
I love your videos brother. They are helping me tremendously more than any other videos I have found online. Question, what makes you put 2 compressor plugins on your VOX tracks? How do 2 compressors work at once? Thanks!
Haven’t incorporated it into a song I’ve released yet, but I LOVE fuzz vocals, similar to the through the guitar amp effect you were doing. Heavy fuzz sounds like on Kanye West’s Runaway sound amazing at the right moments.
I am doing a Track where I need the chorus to be sung by children. Is there an app or setting In GarageBand. I do do multi track harmonies, then I would love to make that into children singing, any ideas would be great 👍
At 10:57 you dragged the start of a clip backwards and there was more audio at the beginning. When I do the same thing, one of two things happens: 1. I can't drag the beginning of the clip 2. I can drag it backwards, but there's no audio before the original start of the clip Has Garageband changed? Is there something I'm doing to stop this feature from working?
Hey Mike- did you record with "takes"? Where the song loops and records multiple takes on the same track? If so, you'll need to delete takes except the one you are using in order to drag the start of the audio. It's a weird glitch, but easy to work around. I would just duplicate your track then delete unused takes on the new one and keep the original track as my backup. I hope that helps!
@@TheBandGuide That must be it! My standards are way above my ability to play, and it's not uncommon for me to get up to 30 takes on a track... I do a ton of comping! :D
Amazing lesson. Many thanks. Quick question for you, how do you get the guitar amp on the vocals? Are you opening a guitar track or a vocal track? Then what are you doing? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you and great question! I just added the guitar amp plugin on the vocal track. So it's an audio track but I've added the amp on it. You can add the guitar amp on anything... even a drummer track!
Do you ever have issues with system overload when adding multiple tracks for delay and reverb? With all the ones for drums and everything? Or is that more of an issue having too many plug ins on one track?
Hi Colin. I want to know at what stage of the mixing process you introduce the delay throw and Guitar amp effects? In the first step [static mix stage] or, as the mixing proceeds and you started the effects stage? Do you plan for them before you start mixing or do you throw them in 'on the go'?

I JUST downloaded this yesterday! I love Valhalla but somehow this one slipped past me. It’s awesome!
How fo you get it?
Very helpful. Thank you!
Never occurred to me to try a guitar amp on a vocal. That's kinda awesome. :) Great video Colin!
Right?? It used to be so much work to route it out to an amp, mic the amp, tweak all the settings... you can do that all in GB in SECONDS now. Crazy.
FIRST!!! LOVE YOUR CONTENT.
Amazing! Thank you!!

I cannot find the vocal settings on my phone Garage Band
Love Number 4 :). sounds cool
I love that one! It's a great, easy way to just highlight specific words/phrases when there is space but a typical delay is too much.
Cheers mate, always great stuff here! 🇬🇧🏆🇺🇲
Thanks, Nigel!

NIce video. for some reason I cant duplicate a track to sound exactly like the original.
I don`t seem to have "1/2 Note Flutter" on my presets for Master Echo. Instead have 1/2 Single, Repeat T-Repeat etc. Anyone know why this is?
What is the autotune you are using here ?
how do you get the automation menu?
