As I am software developer. I am only aiming to do coding stuff on laptop. Is it good choice to buy MacBook air now ?

With Macbook Air you get less space/memory compared to Pro. I have not personally used Air for coding.
I would prefer a Pro over Air

you need to buy it. there is no other go. I use community edition which is more than enough for my personal work
