PLEASE DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE LITTLE TREE!!!. We got one this year too. We ended up putting the tree stand on an upside down round galvanized Tub and put the tree skirt on it. It lifted the tree about 18 inches and it gives us lots of space to put presents under the tree
Hi All, I love to see a Menorah on your kitchen table. Why am I not seeing Lancelot wearing his insulated booties when he is out of the house on his morning walks. With so many jackets for Lancelot, he should already be wearing them this winter. Mark & Scott
Stephanie just stand your tree on a couple of crates / wooden pallets covered in foil as a base. With presents underneath you won’t tell the difference!!
Might try a grouping of smaller trees, or set the tree atop a small table and draping the table. Honestly, there is no such thing as an ugly Christmas Tree.
I just saw a tiktok of a daughter who showed the poorest danglyiest looking christmas tree. apperently her father has made it a tradition to go out in the woods and find the weakest thin looking tree and get it for their christmas. i found it very endearing and cute. all trees are beautfiul in their own way 😂💛
The cookies looked wonderfully good all decorated. Lancelot was just having fun. The chapel sure is going to be beautiful when the corner is done and painted.
That'll Lancelot. Is sovsweet. But he got caught out doing naughty at the tree. It was so funny how he came forward and when u gave him the look he backed up and sat down looking so guilty😮😅😊
To lift the tree higher simply put a block of wood into a bucket type receptacle, fill up with earth, job done & tree looks much higher! I'm on Stephanie's side regarding bread sauce it's wonderful. Lancelot is continually giving the play bow sign to you which is what he would do with other dogs, come on lets play❤
I started watching the Chateau Diaries during that awful lockdown time. It was the word "pepperkaker" that Marie said one time that made me understand that she is Norwegian! I was smiling the whole time watching the "pepperkaker" (gingerbread cookies) being made. It brought back so many good memories. The cookie cutters made so you can have the gingerbread cookie on the side of a glass was a novelty for me. I guess I must buy some of those! I have one cookie cutter with the shape of an elk, which is very Norwegian. But that one is actually bought in Sweden. Not everyone can look glamourous with a snowman sweater on, but Marie`s mother can! God Jul! (From Trine Ruth Larsen)
I have watched this three times. So much fun. Lancelot thought it was time to play! He went right into play pose with you, Stephanie. He needs doggie training to keep his mind occupied. He’s a smartie. Adorable! Also, love when Dana cooks!
I wonder that also. I think in Europe the food is made with better ingredients. They eat less processed food than Americans. I have learned that they put more restrictions on processed foods etc.
Dana exudes joy with her beautiful smile, generous heart & the delicious food she prepares for those she loves 🥰. The 🌲 by the fireplace, fits the room perfectly.
I think the tree is ok for that room. I’m sure someone amongst you can create something really magical. As always Marie is organising the menu. What fun you guys had making cookies. I just spent the day with my 10 year old grandson. We made Scottish shortbread. They were delicious.
Tree 🌲 you have a whole forest. Nothing could be more fun then sourcing one from it. Ask Nick for help planting a few for next year for the château. Perfect
Be POSITIVE. Many people as I cant afford a tree. But I have many blessings. My monthly Bill's are paid. My kids & grandkids are all healthy. I'm vary GREATFUL. God bless everyone. Happy Holiday's.
Fruit salad in the states: red apples diced up, blueberries, oranges diced up strawberries sliced, kiwi, banana at last moment, cantaloupe, honey dew melon
Ohhhh my goodness… I wish I could have videotaped the moment, but when you discovered the naughty little mess that your little angel had created, my dog saw him on TV and started barking at him!!!
You can just feel the love at Lalande. So sweet how much of an affectionate bond these lovely people share, and in such a stunning place. I envy all who enter there.
When the chapel stars are sold out and you are still in need of funds you could start selling the Special Edition Chateau Christmas Cookies! Philip's cookies being the higher prices Limited Edition ones of course 😋
I always have a 7 1/2 foot tree and put it on a stand that Aumary could make with his eyes closed in 5 minutes. From scrap wood. I raise mine maybe 8” for 10 foot ceilings. With a tree topper it’s almost to the ceiling. With a tree skirt on and presents you never notice it’s on a stand.
I've always used a small table if I've had a small tree. The small table then comes in handy because you can layer the presents under the tree. It's a win-win. As Natti said size doesn't matter
Happy Hanukkah or Chanukah or Hanoukia!! Anyway, you spell it that meal looked so beautiful, delicious & healthy! In our household, we call our celebrations "Chrismukkah"⛄🔯🎉🎊🎀🎁🕎🌲
Sir Lancelot is so very excited about all the festivities --he's adorable❤. What an amazing dinner Dana prepared--everything looks fantastic. The Chanukah candles looked so pretty on the table. 💗
The room will make the tree and it’s a lovely room.So nice to see everyone gathering to make cookies. I’m so happy Marie’s back . How nice her mom and sister were there making those beautiful cookies. This is what I love about LaLande is all the different cultures contributing harmoniously to the cooking and the decorating. Lancelot being a puppy , so cute.
But the English/Brits call them biscuits , and what Americans call biscuits are more like the (slightly sweet) scones that the English have with clotted cream and fruit preserves or jam. And of course, you know that French fries are called chips in England, while they call (American) chips... crisps. A car hood is a bonnet, and a trunk is called the boot in England.... and I could go on, but you get the idea. We diverged over the centuries. Cookie is closer to a Dutch term used by the Dutch settlers in New York & Pennsylvania... and so on. I was married to a Brit named Lance (I'm Tara but use my current husband's account whose name is Charles) So things are not always called what they seem to be (by Americans) It makes for charming comparisons and conversational repartee at parties. I always had my (former) English inlaws thoroughly confused. ~Tara 😉☺ p.s. I used to love Lance-a-lot ...now I love 'Charlesalot'... and Lancelot is the most adorable Chihuahua I think I've ever seen!

Lovely biscuits, welcome to puppy life 😊 more chewed items to come. The Chapel is going to look beautiful inside when finished, I can't wait to see the end result.
Lancelot is such a lovely person (yes dog person). Can he have some of the lower branches for him to decorate? He is a puppy for so short a time. Next year he probably won't be interested. Besides he wants to do what you do and the trees are perfect and new. Hugs!
I loved watching the cooking coven working! The tree 🌲 is perfect. Life is good. Did you start your booze filled dessert? I remember every year watching you feed it! 🤣🥃🎄🎅🏰🇫🇷♥️
If it’s any consolation my family got a pretty small tree a few days ago because the big ones were all gone and we’ve grown to love it 😂 it’s got character! Also the decorations almost look more extravagant because of the small size!
One year I did three smaller trees that were stair-steps in height, almost looking like a magic fairy ring with the smallest tree in front and the tallest in back.
Bit of handy info about dogs shredding paper or stuffing in plushies: it's actually an essential behavior and considered good enrichment! Outdoors dogs would debark branches, sticks, roots, and rip meat from bones. It's deeply embedded. I've always let my dogs shred paper before recycling, so when it's allowed, and then all in. The plushies have had their stuffing regularly expertly removed, then popped back in by me, three strong stitches, and next time theres a rainy bring afternoon, the fun comes out again! Just teach him he needs permission 😉. You have so many trees, not all have to be huge and perfect. It'll be fine 😉
Once you have decorated the tree it will be the belle of the ball. Very happy Christmas to all La Landers and continued good health, loving friends and prosperity for 2024. 💕🌲🎉

So glad that Marie is back!! She adds such sparkle to the chateau!!
I hope that the people working on the chapel get to have stars dedicated to them as a tribute to the work they have done .❤️🇬🇧
What a sweet, considerate, and tender recommendation!
I’m so glad Marie is back at the Chateau. Such a sweetie.
I'm so happy she's returned as well. And she looks quite healthy, happy and beautiful
🙏🏻🌷💗🌷🙏🏻
❤❤❤Marie's mum is gorgeous! ❤❤❤
She reminds me of Frida from ABBA who is also from Norway.😊
Love that Dana has brought Chanukah to the Chateau and with her delicious food! Another happy celebration at La Lande 🥰
I noticed the menorah on the table too! Too bad it didn’t make the vlog. 😟
Lancelot was so proud! And ready for play time.
Marie's mom is so pretty. There is something special about her.
I agree with Nati: it's not the size that matters.... The room is smaller, I think, so it will be just lovely.
It will be covered up with decorations.
I love that you can do absolutely everything on the kitchen table ❤
I’d raise the tree on a stand in a wooden or large plastic tub. You can then decorate around the top of the tub.
Not sure Amaury would be happy with this comment 😂

I’m with Stephanie on the blue skied winters day. Poor auld Lancelot doesn’t know what he did wrong 😅. Great job on the vault.

Glad you’re not going to waste the Nile fruits. 😂😂 the menu sounded perfect. Marie is so much like her Mother. The queens made me giggle. Loved it.
"The Dog is insisting!" - "Molly is the mastermind of this operation!" - Haha, this is so enjoyable!!!
Steph there are some people who have NO TREE. Be thankful for what you have as you have so much.
You forgot one queen ‘Freddie’. Lol
FYI Nick is looking fabulous as always.
I’m so happy to see Hanukkah celebrated along with getting a live Christmas tree! That looks like our house too! ❤
My family celebrates "Chrismukkah", but we only use the term in the immediate family so as not to (potentially) insult either side of the family! 😉😊😇
Yeah maybe Amaury can figure something out to have it raised up a bit, I’m sure either way it’ll be pretty once they’re done decorating it! 🎄
I do it all the time. Just create a raised platform. Dress in Christmas paper/ foil / material. It gives the illusion of a taller tree.
Great idea.
You haven’t mentioned your Christmas Pudding this year??
Or maybe burlap or some fabric from your stash to cover the base!
You can make that tree look fabulous. It isn't what you have, it's what you do with it.
Now that's the Christmas spirit! 🎄
Might try a grouping of smaller trees, or set the tree atop a small table and draping the table. Honestly, there is no such thing as an ugly Christmas Tree.

The size of the tree is right for the room. It is what you do with it that matters. It will be fine. Love those cookies.

Why everyone at Lalande is not 20 lbs. overweight is a puzzle to me - you eat so often and so well!
I wonder that also. I think in Europe the food is made with better ingredients. They eat less processed food than Americans. I have learned that they put more restrictions on processed foods etc.
They're also younger... and I think copious amounts of Olive Oil helps, as well as the fresh ingredients.
And they're always working, Steph has said she intermittent fasts also.
Bahahahahaha Stephanie those cookies are next level! I LOVE Tanton Steven's too. ❤
