As far as I know this song is about how they were feeling during Mingi hiatus. Like mingi was struggling with his anxiety/depression fase but he also felt bad hurting Yunho because of it. But also Yunho was hurting because he couldn't help his friend during that time. They were both hurting by not being together.
I am really glad Mingi came back after all the turmoil and anxiety he has experienced. Thank u to Yunho for being the best bff, and for not giving up on his soulmate. All 8 of them deserve all the love and praise in the world. They're good role models too.
I thought it was really nice that Mingi gave the bridge to Yunho so he could have his solo moment. Since Mingi both wrote and composed Youth and the song primarily talks about his complicated feelings towards growing up, it would have been easy to sideline Yunho from what is still a unit song. But instead, Mingi has been deliberate in highlighting Yunho’s voice and his bridge every chance he gets to talk about the song. And for good reason, Yunho sang the hell out if that bridge and its my favorite part!! But its equally nice to see that effort also be reflected in the music video and choreo where he can show off a solo dance as well. Thanks for reacting ❤
At the end of 2019, Mingi took some time off in order to get help with his anxiety. During that period, he started to write the lyrics but couldn’t finish them. Yunho helped him finish the lyrics and Mingi got input from the rest of the members too. He had a lot of different versions of singing the song. The car in the mv…. Is related to the lore i think…. His younger brother dying in the story…. Its related to the diary film… He really wanted to express what he was feeling 😢❤
KQ is amazing and I'm really liking the different sub units for Ateez now I'm really excited to See Jongho Solo because his voice is amazing and very well versed
Idk why but i felt more connected to this song than the other two And its my bias and bias wrecker so i loved it even more But that choreo tho It does have a body roll vibe as well Ready for the live stream
5:10 Same! On my first listen, the song sounds comforting, light and gentle. And so I was even smiling when singing to it since it's kinda catchy. But, deyymm, the lyrics are filled with so much feels. 😭 Such a heavy and emo song based on the lyrics so I'm amazed they are able to pull off the MV even with such a "light" sounding song. It's genius!
My theory is that they want to go back to their youth but can't because of the pain and struggles they went thru. So they have to move on but they won't forget where they came from because of scars from the struggles that they went thru. That's my take on the song. But this is more mellow than the last two subunits. That choreography doesn't match the song lol 🤣🤭 But Ateez always gotta make it spicy with some body rolls 😅😂

Mingi is always good with words. ❤
The choreo matches perfectly for the song. Subtle and not over the top
