fun fact: mingi wrote this song (it was incomplete) during his hiatus and then chose yunho as the member he wanted to do this song w when splitting up the units.
That’s why the lyrics are so emotional, the fact that he wanted to share this part of his life with Yunho makes it so much more heart touching

I love how they started the video with Mingi looking in the house/cabin and seeing himself that could mean that he is looking back to possibly his past, which starts the whole story and ends with Yungi looking at the house/cabin burn as if they were looking back at everything that happened and recognising that it's gone now or essentially they've moved on. †knowing that Mingi wrote youth probably before or during hiatus which really pulls together the whole bigger picture for me which just gave me more reasons to love this song (this is just what I got from it)

This was my favorite song on the album. The lyrics hit me so hard, Mingi started writing this when he was on hiatus and then chose Yunho to be on it with him and he produced it.
I agree. I was unsure whether this was actually my favourite song on the album or if it was Matz but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it. Especially when Yunho joins Mingi in the chorus, I get chills every time I hear that bit.

@belovejwy1577 I think Mingi goes into detail during the UA-cam live for the album (the one they sitting on stools) that he wrote it at 22 which is around the time of his hiatus. There might be other places he said this but I remember that was a more detailed story of the song and how Yunho came on to join. Some of their personal lives also added behind details.
This song made me tear up. Mingi's first rap verse is really relatable. Literally speaking the truth. Everyone hits it at a different age, but most hit it in their twenties (the depression stage) where they are lost, do not know exactly what to do, and feel alone. Your parents try to help, (because they went through it too), but you feel as if no one understands. Youth. Ugh now i have to go watch someone to get out of my feels.

I cried so hard the first time I watched the MV. The song is so emotionally charged.
Mingi wrote most of it during one of his lower points in life and then wanted no one but his best friend of 9-10 years, Yunho, to do the song with him.
You can feel the hurt and sadness in his words.
At the end of 2019, Mingi took some time off in order to get help with his anxiety. During that period, he started to write the lyrics but couldn’t finish them. Yunho helped him finish the lyrics and Mingi got input from the rest of the members too. He had a lot of different versions of singing the song. The car in the mv…. Is related to the lore i think…. His younger brother dying in the story…. Its related to the diary film… He really wanted to express what he was feeling 😢❤

In the beginning some people had asked if the members ever wanted to form sub-units or go solo and they had said they didn't fell the time was right - But look at them now!!! The confidence, growth & maturity they all have. We are also very lucky that Ateez are of one mind - cause ANY unit would work.

Want to throw out a few questions to others:
#1 Do you feel that this MV has more of a tie in to Ateez lore???
I kind of felt it in "Its You" (The Z dimension) were this is more of the next to the "Fever" series 🤔🤷🏻♀️
#2 - Since the beginning- Ateez has always had Flags and navigation items (compass, spyglass & the Cromer but since Wave" & "Wonderland" there has been cars in the MV's (The ATV's from "Treasure" dont really count - but maybe)
I maybe a clowntiny 🤡 😅😊 but the question is - Have we/I been missing something this whole time??? What do you guys think? Are the cars a clue 🕵 🤔🤷🏻♀️🤣🫶🫰
I think it all directly relates to fever diary. The car could have to do w/ Yunho’s brother dying & ofc Yuyu carrying on to fufill his brothers dream. His diary entry even talks about a broken guitar. Similarly, Mingi’s is about music keeping him alive and his past/ how he was perceived by adults and peers growing up. It’s interesting
It’s You is actually also a continuation of Diary, you can see WooYoung feeling little because in Diary he has a fear to dance in public. San in Diary was moved around too much (with his family) and here he’s a bird in cage (moved around without a choice), YeoSang is ‘trapped’ in a classroom (also the classroom and the plane is related to Turbulence, and WooYoung flying move). I think all unit songs are related to Diary Film.
