1951 Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles and there were still Whites living there, wow, what a trip! I know it was a multi-ethnic neighborhood until the mid 60's when it became essentially a Barrio or a neighborhood dominated by Mexican Americans/Mexican immigrants. These programs are interesting not just because of the storyline, but what they inform you of the history and demographic changes of my hometown of Los Angeles...I especially like episodes like this one that focuses on the Eastside of Los Angeles since here is where I grew up between the late 60's until the early 70's.
Humankind has long produced people more than willing to hurt or kill other humans for all sorts of reasons that don't seem justifiable. Not sure simply violence. Torture as well, emotional and physical. Sometimes people kill people just for fun. So probably been messed up for a very long time.
A spring blade knife with a 8 inch blade???? That would put the overall length of the knife at about a foot and a half.. A little large for your average street punk I'd say...
I remember going to Tijuana at 13. Met an older guy and somehow went in an alley and bought a switch blade from him . The folks didn’t see us . Smuggled It back . Went into the bathroom and tried it out . The third time .. it broke . Total junk .. all that trouble and it ended up in the trash can . Showed my girl cousin. She just laughed ...lookin back ... may have been a good thing..oh life 😎
Coffee cold ? No problem for real men .. hahaha that’s hardcore . Smoking Chesterfield straights and drinking old , cold coffee ..” hey It’s better than nothing“ hell YA ..😆

The thought of cold coffee on an empty stomache gives me heartburn thinking about it. Rather than a bagel or something :)

Why would you make such a silly and unnecessary comment?
Back then gay, meant happy
