My goodness, she was dearly loved by Jack Webb, wasn't she ? It seemed as though Virginia Gregg was in every other episode in the Dragnet revival, '67-'70. Miss Gregg continued to work in radio drama into the 1970s, appearing on the E.G. Marshall hosted CBS Radio Mystery Theater. She appeared as a maid named Prudance in one of my favorite CBSRMT episodes, The Doll (ep. #159). The story revolves around a Haitian "voodoo doll". I know this- that episode scared me as a kid, (1974) and sprung a life-long love of radio dramas, mysteries & ghost stories... I owe this to Himan Brown and, in turn, E.G. Marshall, Virginia Gregg, Mason Adams, Tony Roberts and all the prolific radio actors....😎
The Lieutenant at about 1:35 is Stacy Harris. He was a great radio actor and usually played the bad guy in Dragnet on radio and in the Dragnet feature film.
Ok, I've listened to this one more than once, the place he holds up in, just happens to have the a married woman in it , his favorite type, found together in the bedroom , she tells cops going to have to kill him, was she just one of those married women his mom talked about?
thank you for posting these great episodes.
Virginia Gregg plays the mother. She's one heck of an actress!

Lol @ Lt. Stoner. Also interesting hearing jack use the phrase 'what's up' in 1955
This is enough drama to fill 5 seasons worth of today's police procedurals. :-D
Poor kid .. And poor Mom ..🙁

Does homeowners insurance cover tear gas and machine gun damage?
No, at least mine didn't
Why do Friday and Smith refer to their boss, Chief of Detectives Thad Brown, Skip or Skipper? That is a bit
...............unusual to put it politely.
Usually "skipper" refers to a captain of a ship, or in this case, somebody in a leadership position such as Chief of Police or Lieutenant or Captain.
Hey , at least they don’t call him “Skippy”😵💫
