Everybody Loves Raymond: Frank saves Debra

- A very funny scene from the Everybody Loves Raymond episode,"The Canister". One of the rare moments where Frank acts human. Definitely one of my favorite moments from the show. Capital acting by Peter Boyle.
Frank is sweet inside. He defended Debra multiple times from Marie. I remembered the screaming, 'because being rude is the only way to get through to her(Marie). I USED TO BE A GENTLEMAN!!!!!'
Yeah that line is Hella funny lol. Yes he defended and protected Debra alot of times and the one when he defended her when the old men were hitting on her and gawking at her when she was working at the lodge, and Frank got upset cuz she was like a daughter to him. Loved their relationship
I remember that that was the best lol
And yet they have sex once a week! 😂😂😂
Huilai Tian Frank is the best! Perfect timing!
She was gonna yell at me anyway,I ate the back side of that ham,😂
Frank is the only one in the Barone family that isn’t afraid of Marie.
Very true Frank is the og of the show
And Amy she stands up against Marie many times
@@eivindgjengstjohansen9625 and she’s won against Marie over Debra many times. Thanks for the reminder.
There will never be another Peter Boyle. RIP you are missed greatly.
Yeah, he was great. One of the best characters on the show. One of my favorite scenes in the show that I can remember is when he breaks Marie's glasses when she says she doesn't think he actually loves her. Still sticks in my head whenever I think about his character.
R.I.P Doris Roberts
“Give your heart to God ‘cause your ass is Marie’s” 😂😂😂
😂
That line is so "Frank Barone" that it sounds as if it was written by someone doing a parody of this show. People would hear this line and tell the writer "they should have hired you to write for that show. That really sounds like something Frank Barone would say!"
🤣🤣💀
Frank: "🤚 Let it go."
MAN!!! It was like he took a bullet for Debra.
A MAJOR BULLET!
@@alexanderpytko5394
He was gonna yelled at anyways. He ate the back side of dat ham!
@@irvinmorales1409 FRAAAAAANK!!!
More like an RPG.
You can tell it meant a lot to Debra Frank telling her she's like he's daughter 🤗
In reality she argued & put down Mr. Boyle bc he was a liberal & believed in diversity!
"I didn't want that ta happen ta you." "You're like my daughter."💗🌹
"And she was gonna yell at me like that later anyway. I ate the back side of the ham." 😂🤣
@@TheFanboy19FRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and debra never appreciated it, she looked down on that family the entire series
Say what you want about Frank, But he's a good father in law
Barely!
In most marriages, father in laws are usually never a problem. However, mother in laws .......
Frank lied about hiding the canister to protect Debra. But knowing him, he probably would've done that for real just to mess with Marie xD
Probably why she believed it
Probably...
Actually I hear that in real life Frank was very sweet inside. Ray Romano said that he often gave him advice.
That’s why she believed it
@@carolinewilson8048 right but we're talking about the character of frank not his actor Marie and frank weren't married in real life and neither were ray and Debra Debra wasn't anything like her character either off camera but Debra character is pushy and a house wife
"I don't know, I didn't want that to happen to you... you're like my daughter." -Frank Burone (Peter Boyle)
He should of not only gotten an Emmy for his role as Frank on the show, but this line alone deserves an award. RIP PETER BOYLE 1935-2006
Mon Star right breaking the cycle
It’s Barone
@Mon Star beautifully said. He never wanted to be his father even though he was strict on them, he never laid a hand on them. I felt like he was making them stronger and that is why he was hard on his sons. He felt like they were insecure at time and he would give them pep talks. I don't like people say he was rude and mean. To me he wasn't like that at all. It was tough love and he really did love his kids. He remind me of my father. I adore my father and it's weird Frank remind me of my father and Marie remind me of my mama lol.
@@maryammure5151 yh spot on Frank was a good guy deep down just very tough and set in his way he showed his love for his family countless times on the show he was a realistic character
And she was going to yell at me like that later anyway, I ate the backside of that ham.
Every once in a while, Frank showed he had a heart.
I love Debra's relationship with Frank and Robert.
It's a breath of fresh air from Ray and Marie always double teaming her lol
@@mimikinmiracle83 yh definetely Robert and Frank were my favourite characters on the show
They were the only two people other than Ray who could appreciate what Marie kept putting her through!
@@tg92277 still even though Ray knew how overbearing and psychotic Marie can be someway somehow he still took her side instead of his wife.
@@thatguy597Ray couldn't stick up for Debra.
Frank was a good character and he isn't afraid of his wife. Unlike the other members of their family. I know he cares for his sons but he loves Debra as if she was his real daughter. i think he'd do anything to help her.
hes not but he wont stand up to her all the time. frank says when marie is mad she stops cooking
It was so sweet he lied for her. Marie would have been pissed at her
I love this moment and when Frank defended Debra after his lodge buddies made lewd comments about her.
Vanessa Galvin She wouldn't have been pissed. If anything, she'd be happy that she has that to hold over her forever
“She was going to yell at me like that anyway. I ate the backside of the ham.” 😏
“FRAAAAAANK!” 😡
😆
🤣🤣🤣
Peter Boyle was a tremendous actor. It’s insane he never won an Emmy on the show. He was only nominated a handful of times
Him and Jason Alexander were nominated 7 times but never won
Both Robert & Kramer were nominated 5 times each won 3
“She was gonna yell at me like that later anyway.” 🤣 That’s how it is when you live with someone like Marie, lol. May as well get all the yelling out of the way asap
Make me cry because I know my father-in-law would do the same for me. I love that man!
My father in law would throw me under the bus 😂
I loved it when he said to Debra "You're like my daughter". RIP Peter, you're being missed.
This is not about Frank. Although, he was great. I always noticed, that when decisions had to be made. Ray never got to make any of them. Debra, was always the one, who did. Very controlling, bossy, mean. Didn't take Ray into consideration.
I thought Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts, were both great. 😏
I love this episode. Love when he tells her she's like a daughter to him.
"You're like my daughter." Awww
Love it when Marie storms out and the boys fall aside. 😂
🍷😆👍 Total Dodo's the 2 of them.. !
I loved that scene. One of my favorite sit-coms of all time.
The way he covered her with ease makes me feel like he's covered for people before
😂😂 best father inlaw ever
Frank acts "human" in a lot of scenes, he's my favorite character in the show!!!!!
Frank: I don't know, you're like a daughter to me.... awwww ❤️
Awww the way he defended Debra there and took the blame himself. It shows Frank had a sensitive side to him. I loved this one And the one when defend Debra once again with the men gawking at her at the lodge and Frank was not having it. I love the way he was with Debra. Like she was his own daughter
ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREATEST COMEDIES EVER..PETER AND DORIS ARE BOTH IN T.V. HEAVEN✌✌✌✌✌
Damn hard to believe that both Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts passed away.
Frank genuinely loved Debra. He may be rough most of the time but he had a good heart.
Ahhh So sweet and precious when Frank says Oh I didn't want that to happen to you - you're like my daughter.
The way they dive out the way near the end lmao. I feel em on that when my mom goes off on someone ...
"All funny."
Love Peter Boyle.
R.I.P. Peter Boyle, you will be missed..
I loved this character. Couldn’t have been done by anyone else
R.I.P Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts.
There would have been no drama if he had just said "I accidentally left it in the garage. Sorry."
2:36 "FRAAAANK!!"🤣🤣🤣
Right on cue
Too Bad I only discovered Peter Boyle on reruns of this show.. What a Brilliant actor and comedian!! Loved this guy!! RIP Peter!!
Frank is literally my favorite on Everybody Loves Raymond. He's funny as hell and he has his decent moments.
Loved frank and debras friendship😊
Frank understand Debra’s situation and he took the blame for it
To the actors and actresses who passed away my thoughts are with your family you may be gone but not forgotten one of TV best sitcoms ever appreciate a good laugh appreciate you guys thanks job well done you should be amazed and proud love you guys ! Joe
One of the very greatest episodes ever. Robert’s reaction to seeing the “canister” (cookie tin) before this when he comes in their house is genius.
Ray and Robbie wisely stay FAR away from that ball of rage that was once known as their mother.
I knew Marie was gonna yell out "Fraaank!"RIP Peter Boyle.
Frank: i hid it from you. I thought it would be funny
Marie: frank. I've been tearing my hair out like a crazy woman looking for that
Frank: .... all funny
Yeah, We watched the same video no need to write it out like we are deaf.
ba sillah you don’t have to be a jerkoff
This scene had me dead 😂😂
My husband and son scatter like Ray and Robbie when I'm ticked off 😂😄
🍷😆😆
R.I.P. Peter Boyle (1935-2006).
You're like my daughter...ah someone's cutting onions again
If you're wondering why the backside of the ham is so important that's where the flavor is 🐖🐖🐖🐖
🍷😆 I know right!
Frank actually would have hid the canister to be funny so that’s why Marie bought this story without question.
One of my favorite episodes !
I love Debras outfit
I love Frank, gruff on the outside and soft and mushy on the inside.
Like a Cadbury egg
Man this show was a MASTERPIECE. Will probably rewatch it again.
just about the only sitcom I ever liked..king of queens is alri but this show right here..so much talent
I have seen families with similarities to Ray Baron's. Despite the bickering, yelling and all the drama, the members would stick together when it mattered the most. They do love each other in their own weird way.
Frank also say that he backed Debra up because he ate the back side of the ham, too.
Still love how Robert a 6ft 8 cop is deathly afraid of little Marie
Marie is such a Drama Queen!
Such an old man thing to say. "I hid it because I thought it would be funny."
I was at my aunt's house bored out of my mind because they didn't have cable out in the country. My grandpa was in a recliner tossing a ball to their dog getting him riled up. He tosses it into the kitchen where my aunt was and the dog came barrelling in. She says "Damnit, Dooley." And my grandpa goes: "Jean, get a hold of that dog." knowing damn well he threw it at my aunt on purpose. LMFAO
Finally. After 11 years, this video made it to a million. Congratulations.
frank is actually my favorite character in the show.
frank from seinfeld too haha
They don't make sitcoms as good today.....breaks my heart...
Yes out with those overly dramatic prehistoric bickering yelling dino's family shows 🦕 from the last century. The 21st century world shall soon evolve to be more pointless, more cold, more distant, more 📺Netflix watching self centered humor less yet peacefully complacent bunch. 🥂😵🤓
@@evm6177Nah, this is a century of decline tbh. West is dead.
@@evm6177you're gay aren't you.
Marie takes blame for Debra in the letter episode: "Maybe you can do something for me in return."
Frank takes blame for Debra here: "You're like my daughter."
The difference
And, Frank saying "let it go" after Debra tried to intervene
I must say that Favors is one of my favorite episodes though
I ate the backside of that ham.
FRANK!
I love how he didn't even ask for a favor like they did later in the episode "Favors."
Aaawwww franks love for Debra ❤️❤️
Yes but wearing those "fuck me heels" in her gorgeous bare feet, Frank should have demanded at least a few sniffs of Deb's sweaty feet for that favor. I'm sure pansy Ray wouldn't have objected.
@@MsBelle1111 take yo meds
True comedy at its very holy crap frank barone standing up for debra barone one of TV best sitcoms ever to the actors and actresses who passed away my thoughts are with your family you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong you are the daughter o always wanted she was going to yell at me later I ate the back ham of the bone appreciate a good laugh and the memories you should be amazed and proud love and respect and appreciation job well done thanks !!! Joe
love you frank aka peter
I love Frank!
1:58 I love how Ray and Robert just get out of the way, frightened. They know not to mess with their mom when she's super PO'ed.
Literally the 2 best characters in the series
This is honestly one of my favourite episodes. It's so funny yet it ends with this poignant moment with Frank. When the boys are kicking the cannister down the stairs It's like something out of a horror movie.😂 It keeps coming back. And when Robert first sees it. Again. The look of horror on his face. All of them were so good.
Great scene from a great episode of a great show!
Love you Frank thanks for making it great for me. ='(
Frank is always standing up for debbie
I actually love that show. Crazy funny.
Give God your heart cause your behind belongs to me. That was one of my moms favorite sayings before she got ready to whip us. She didn’t hold back either, she made us to be strong people of faith, who treats others well and have respect for ourselves.
So frank does care frank does have a heart
It showed a good few times. Like Pet the Bunny when Frank would pet & play with Ray & Robert's pet bunny because they never took care of him or gave it any attention.
"Give your heart to God 'cause your ass is Marie's"
Frank remind me of my father and Marie is just like my mother. Freaking weird lol
mimi mure
Same here.. not really the arguments or the insults, more the subtle nuances like Marie’s (unintended) backhanded comments as well as her fawning over one child, and Frank’s quick witted retorts and strong moments (like in the final episode where he puts Ray in his place for mocking Debra about Ray “almost dying”):
“I never seen your wife like that before, and I never want to see her like that again”.
Frank took a lot of shit from everybody, but every now and then he showed some truly powerful alpha qualities.
Peter Doyle is my fav in this series, the way he played Frank consistently made me laugh.
My favorite scene was when Frank threw out her saved pancetta grease and they argued over it.
Frank has had a pretty rough life. But it didn't make him nasty and bitter. It made him a bit rude and sarcastic and not afraid to tell it like it is.
I love the way Ray and Robert part like the red sea when Marie storms into the kitchen lol
I wasn’t a huge fan of the show, but I happened to see this episode. I always liked Frank, but this moment was extra special.
wow! he did something nice!
Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle were class acts.
It appears many missed the subtle underlying theme of this Christmas episode. Frank (who was innocent in this case) takes the blame, punishment, etc. for Debra (the guilty one), i.e what Christ did for mankind.
All true, but this is an Easter episode. Would that comparison still apply in that case?
Without Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts this show wouldn't be as iconic as it is. Frank had his moments, it was mainly with Debra or Amy, he had a few moments with Marie. Miss them both, glad we had them for the time they were here
One of the best episodes, although how can you choose - they were almost all great. But this one is funny and sentimental and touching.
Marie is a bully and Frank genuinely loves Debra and doesn't want her to deal with unnecessary BS when he has to deal with it anyway. He's a good man.
She will fight to the end marriage license not expired😂😂❤❤
Great episode. Brilliant writing and performances.
😂😂 I miss this show

Frank is like my dad; grumpy and raw but soft inside.
Aww ..the way frank said to Debra that she's like his daughter ..damn the least she can do is to call the man dad !!
Yes
He is not her dad. This is not REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a sitcom
