      Здравствуйте! А если под столешницу подложить в низ круг меньшим диаметром то можно кромку зафонеровать в вакумном пакете.

      yeah, this one came out nice. nothing like a tight budget to inspire a technique.

    Very interesting. Amazed you don't have more pleats, tears and problems getting it to lay down smoothly! You are a master for sure! Thanks as always, I learn something.

      the secret is to space the pleats, gluing down the valleys, then compress the pleats.

    This is very amazing. It's strange that most of us over clamp glue joints, while this sticks with no clamps at all.

    Thanks for sharing, Scott. Awesome video as usual! What temperature do you set the iron at?

    Question: do you think applying the veneer directly after softening it in the compound (mentioned in the straightening veneer video) could also work - Meaning that you would apply the damp veneer foil, firmly press it with a metal or wooden roller, then gently iron the surface and then let it naturally dry and tighten on the wood support while the veneer fibres lose their water content?

    • @imaginegrove
      @imaginegrove  4 місяці тому

      yes, I've done that. Worked well on the nude torso which I cast with fiberglass. That was extreme compound veneering Although, you'd want to be careful that the substrate doesn't warp, and any veneer seams can open up as the veneer dries and shrinks. I have an entire series about veneering, two on Compound veneering. see them here imaginewoodworking.com/pages/courses-and-demonstrations

    great job! what kind of glue do you use? And how long does it take to glue everything in order to be in time?

      titebond white glue for flat pressing, titebond original for the iron on method. I have a full veneering series "Veneer Me Crazy!" #9 Compound veneering goes into this in depth. see here imaginewoodworking.com/pages/courses-and-demonstrations enjoy!

    Do you have to veneer the underside as well, or is the thickness of the mdf enough to keep it flat?

    • @imaginegrove
      @imaginegrove  2 роки тому +1

      yes, it is important to always veneer the bottom side to create a balanced panel

    If you use the same process with a light veneer like a Maple, will it accept a stain?
