Glad you are figuring it out. It is nice to know that I am not the only one who struggles at times with motivation. I have had years go by with no motivation. To be honest, your videos have given me the motivation to put out apps. I have a handful now that are burning in my head that I want to build. My main motivation at my age is to build some apps that can support me in retirement. I do not need to be rich; I just need a steady, reliable income. I no longer want to work for the man, as I have been freelancing in the past, and loved it. However, I need to replace my current income before I can walk away. Thank you for the videos. I look forward to seeing how you work things out. Your videos are great. Simple, to the point, nice editing, no BS.
I am just starting in coding and i am glad i came across your channel. I feel welcomed to become a developer... Something i hadn't felt when i joined a bootcamp offered in my town. Thanks Tom.
I know I want to build something and the motivation is 100% there. But what to build and what problem can I solve are the biggest stumbling blocks. I have been wrestling with this for a while but the mind is always a blank. Also keep churning out the videos Tom really enjoy your insights to development.
You won’t encounter problems from thin air, you need work on something. Just start by building anything actually, doesn’t need to be a game changer unique idea. Just clone something you use everyday, copy(yes, just copy) projects on product hunt(or any other place). Once you start building stuff and get momentum, ideas will start to pop up, trust me. The right idea won’t fall into your lap, you need to try, fail, iterate, improve, try again, fail again, and keep going.
Ha, yes abandoning at all costs... I've made a small prototype of a web app idea but now I am considering bringing my idea to mobile first instead (kinda excited, never done mobile), so I am bushing up on some Swift. Not sure if this is a wise course adjustment or just an excuse to not go through with the original project.

That's bad. My gf is like that so she just wants to work to get it. Instead of being good with with that money comes :)
