    I have a craft fair in 2 weeks -- have to get going on this very cute idea! I've done canvas cubes that are 6"x6" and 1.5" deep with napkin art for a number of holidays. Loved how they turned out, and working with the napkins is quite easy. Now I have a technique to use up some of those napkins I collected previously!!

    Question: do you have to use a craft iron to decoupage the paper in place? you are this first person I have seen use it. Thanks for this tutorial - can’t wait to try!

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  3 місяці тому

      It’s the easiest way, but you can decopauge with it wet. I tend to get more wrinkles doing it that way, because if you get too much of the glue it can become a mess.

    Great video! Regarding the inside paper... Can you use Xmas/birthday wrapping paper for this? Also, can regular mod podge replace the main glue you use? UK based so looking for supplies whilst watching 😊

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  4 місяці тому

      I think wrapping paper would work great! The thinner it is, the easier it will be to do. That’s a good idea! And yes mod podge will work as well.

    Does the decapod adhesive get sticky when you get it hit with the iron? Is that how it sticks?

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  4 місяці тому

      Yes and no, it doesn’t become liquid sticky again but it bonds to the napkin or paper

    Is the red paper a scrapbook weight paper?

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  4 місяці тому

      Yes, it took a little more glue to stick well, and it didn't work as well when I put it on the back side, I had to hot glue it down in a few spots, but it was still doable.

    best video for busted canvas---is there a rule of thumb plain paper in front and design in back or visa versa--or what ever you want???

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  4 місяці тому

      You can do whatever you want as far as pattern. I usually put two together and see if I like the combo. When doing the back the thinner the paper (or using a napkin) is easier to work with. The canvas I put paper on both sides I had to hot glue the back in a couple of places.

    I love this! Can lightweight paper (say 28 lb) be used instead of the napkins? And would you still use the mini press? I can't wait to try it.

    • @DailyDoseofDIY

    Can’t wait to try this!! So cute! I have plenty of napkins and pattern paper. Does it make a difference or matter what kind of thickness of the pattern paper?

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  4 місяці тому +1

      The pattern paper I used was 80 lb. When it’s thicker like that it will require more decoupage
      The snowman where I used pattern paper on both sides the paper started coming up from the backside when I curled it. But some hot glue fixed that problem. Basically the thinner the better, but thicker paper is doable

    • @diannachristensen213

    Once the piece that will be the rolled paper is applied to the back…is it an absolute must to apply another coat of mod podge over it?
    Reason I’m asking is that I found with all the mod podge it makes it too thick and hard to keep them rolled once hot glued🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  4 місяці тому +1

      No I didn't add another coat over the paper on the back. It still is harder to do with paper on the back vs a napkin, but it's possible
